This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The bigger building is an Airbnb for groups. They will also have access to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

Our trailer and cave shower entrance are on the smaller size and may not be comfortable for larger bodied individuals.

Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. Learn more about this land:A vast expanse of oak trees, California Junipers and rugged, mountainous land running with jackrabbits, quail, and owls that is just 3 miles from Vazquez Rocks and the PCT, our ranch transports you. From the tent campsite, you look out for 20 miles and see nothing but nature across small mountains and canyons all the way to the peaks of Angeles National Forest in the distance. The campsite is a large flat area. For a trailer or RV it's a great place to park and the view is towards wide open spaces. With a tent or if you want more pure nature, you can drive out onto the property further towards the small ruin of the old homesteader's cabin or beyond. The property has a long-abandoned gold mine and circular arrastres where miners used mules to break up rocks. Nearby Acton has pick-your-own apples/pears/peaches at Bloom farms. The camping is set away from structures, but if you want to stroll, closer to the ranch buildings, we have friendly small goats you can visit if interested and horses and a donkey to say hello to across the corral fence.

This spot is a true gem. We had such a lovely stay. Waking up listening to the birds, the views were incredible, and we really enjoyed Sky the dogs company, as well as the neighbor horses.
The outdoor shower was amazing and made you feel like you’re in an oasis.

I’ve stayed at many campgrounds, and Loren’s property stands out as one of the most imaginatively and skillfully designed. The many Western movie props and buildings are great for photography. There is a large gazebo that provides shade, and the other amenities are as described. Lisa greeted me upon arrival and is very knowledgeable about the nearby attractions such as restaurants and vineyards. The property is 10 minutes away from the great hiking of Vasquez Rocks.

I loved tent Camping here! The tent area is away from the RV area so we had a pretty large area of the campground to ourselves! The hosts were super welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. There was a huge fireplace that we enjoyed and the open garage offered spots on turf that helped keep our tent cool. Hi, I just wanted to leave an amazing review because Jessica’s place was unlike anywhere else I’ve stayed. I travel around the US and this has to be one of the most beautiful hipcamps I’ve ever stayed at. She was an amazing host and I love chatting with her and her husband. They seem like amazing people and I would recommend this to anybody. There are bunnies and birds and wildlife everywhere. I love how you can hear the coyotes and the Peacocks. If you want somewhere nature and quiet. This is right up your alley. Every time I’m in California I can’t wait to stay here again. She’s so sweet and taking a shower outside is unlike any other feeling. It’s one of the most peaceful and best sleeps I’ve ever got.

I love the privacy Star Ranch offered! The campground was well equipped. I didn’t know the two cabin was included on the reservation, so that was a bonus that we all loved! The covered common area (kitchen, dining) are awesome. We were so ecstatic about the flushing toilet and hot shower!! Overall, this place is amazing!!
