This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! Near artsy, coastal towns. Wonderful location for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring beaches and forests.. In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming, rustic, Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay.
Outside wood campfires are allowed unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Hot showers are available 15 minutes away with purchase of a day pass and quarters. For 70 years the Nelson family has been farming vineyards and attracting people every year to the beautiful region of Hopland. It is truly a family affair as each generation has put in their time and energy, infusing this ranch with their own flair.
In 1951 Herman and Clara Nelson sold their ranch in what is now Silicon Valley and headed north, landing in Southern Mendocino County near the town of Hopland. Since then the mature prune orchards and grass-fed sheep that dotted the farm’s rolling hills have given way to an abundance of sustainable vineyards as well as Bartlett pears, an olive orchard, and live Christmas Trees.
You will be staying on a working ranch, vineyards, and winery. We have several locations but none of them have hookups at this time. We have vineyard views and oak woodlands and hilltop valley views. Clear Lake Campground is a small, vintage RV and tent campground, established in the 1950s. Camp right on Cache Creek, the only outlet of Clear Lake. The campground offers fishing, kayaking, and boating right from Camp. A car or boat is required to get to Clear Lake. For lake fishing, Redbud Park, Highlands Park and Austin Park are all within a ten minute drive from Camp. Austin Park also has a playground and swimming beach.
The park offers rustic charm with great fishing and bird watching right from your campsite. We have a boat launch for your kayak, canoe or motor boat and we have canoe and kayak rentals. Cool off in the small pool. Challenge your family to a ping pong tournament or corn toss game.

The land is breathtaking! The trip up from Gualala is on a normal, every day paved road that takes you up a winding mountain, and then once entering the property its not far to the cabin so it doesn't seem like it would be a problem for most vehicles in any weather. The cabin is perched at the top of a hill that overlooks a wooded valley. It is SO peaceful, quiet, and green! The redwoods crackle in the wind and the leaves rustle and it's just a quiet piece of legit paradise only 13ish mins from civilization (which was important for firewood re-stocking, it was COLD up there, which made for perfect fire pit weather!)

Really nice and quirky small hut that was comfortable for a couple. Outdoor space was surrounded by trees and was very peaceful. Short drive to Gualala or Point Arena for food. No cooking facilities on site so bring a stove if that's your plan.

The instructions to the cabin were clear and it was easy finding Gena's place. The stove worked extremely well and we got toasty very quickly. The decors give the cabin an old charm. We enjoyed our stay and our dog loved roaming the ground. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore South of Mendocino and Salt Point State park (30 min drive).

WE WILL HAPPILY RETURN! LOVED the privacy and beauty of this special site. We brought our own teardrop camping trailer and enjoyed this amazing site complete with the worlds cleanest compost toilet. Seeing, hearing, and smelling the change of the incredible outdoor space of the campsite. Looking forward to next time already.

We had a great time here. The location is very private and scenic, far away from anyone else. Brian was very helpful in answering any questions and detailed in instructions for the stay. Based on the hills and road surface coming in and out, definitely would make sure to have 4WD and good tire tread if there was any hint of rain on the roads. Our cars were fine, but all were midsize SUV or more capable. Will definitely plan to come back in the future!

Everything is set for you to enjoy your stay. Really loved the details ! Thoughtful setting of spigot for doing your dishes & drying on an extra table, charming perfect size camping table with extra benches, cozy romantic chairs & fire pit. Restroom right there, very clean. Quiet & private, despite the host lives nearby, we really appreciate the tall trees, the proximity of the ocean, about 11 miles. We even saw the whales going South at Point Arena. Definitely recommend this place.

We had the most magical camping weekend at Bliss mountain! The tipi is amazing, spacious, comfortable, and fun!
Great amenities at the camp site. Power, fresh running water from the amazing well on site, toilet, shower, full cooking stove + oven, fridge, everything you need.
Beautiful sunsets and views across the valley. The pools that Hal has built are incredible. Very beautiful, the water feels amazing, the aquifer feeding the pools is a great thing to see!
Hal and Bell were wonderful hosts, so welcoming, inviting, and helpful! We’ll be back!!!

10 ft pop-up camper
It’s eclectic! Built in the 50s, this place has that retro charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. My 20-year-old son, my soul-dog, and I spent Labor Day weekend here, and that little dipping pool was a total lifesaver in the brutal heat.
We brought our trusty popup camper from the 90s (no AC—she’s a vintage gal), so we went full MacGyver with a shade cover, a napping pad, and two “box” fans. Worked like a charm for a solid nap. When we weren’t pretending to be human popsicles, we played ping pong, cornhole, and enjoyed the slower pace. Walmart, gas, and food right across the street made it super convenient.
The highway is close, but it didn’t bother us at all—kind of like grown-up white noise. I’m also terrified of the dark, but here it felt just right: dark enough for an insane star show, but not so dark I thought Bigfoot was lurking.
Fishing was the main reason I booked this place, and it delivered. Each site shares a ramp with one other, small but perfect for casting a line or tying up a paddle board. It’s made for relaxing. I did spot a few teenagers looking bored, but I think they were just in the “too cool for fun” stage.
Lisa was wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and full of history about the place. We had no issues at all, and I’ll definitely be back!
