The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area.
Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward.
'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here.
This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground.
Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days.
This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers.
Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

Tucked away on a private acreage in the charming town of Pescadero, we're about an hours drive from our neighboring Bay Area cities, San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Santa Cruz. Venture is rooted in the 1960s counterculture movement, and we've long served as a haven for spiritual exploration, self-discovery, and personal growth. Venture is owned and operated by a nonprofit organization. Our center is designed to welcome transformational personal growth and wellness groups, as well as other nonprofit groups, Companies and schools looking for a place to teach workshops and retreats.
Being that we are surrounded by nature, along with beautiful nooks and structures that invite people to unplug, put their phones down and tune into nature. The birdsongs, natural landscape, wildlife, creekside meadow, redwoods, willows and more, all lend towards diving deeper to connect on a deeper level.
The campus offers a mix of dispersed charming cabins, a serene yurt, camping sites, and glamping tents. You can immerse yourself in the lush forest that surrounds us, soak up the sun, and explore creek-side beauty. Gather around the warmth of an evening fire or drum circle and enjoy the dusk and starshine coming on.
Just down the street is Pescadero proper. A sweet little spot (nine hundred strong) and California coast perfection. You'll find gorgeous scenery, local food and drink, neat landmarks, beautiful places to hike and explore, fun galleries, and really, really good people. 2 nights at Stunning Treehouse & Cabin
I’ve always wanted to stay in a treehouse that was truly a treehouse masterpiece experience. I must admit that the views by themselves was reason enough to stay on this land. Being able to hike in redwood forest and go to a beautiful beach which was very private and on top of that spending quality time with our daughter who moved to Berkeley made for a perfect setting and start of our vacation. The combination of the old structures on the property, staying in a very comfortable clean treehouse with a gathering cabin as the lower structure which has magnificent vista views, quiet surroundings, wonderful amenities and to be able to go to sleep in the treehouse looking out multiple skylights and windows was a bucket list item that I loved.

3 nights at Santa Cruz Mountains Staycation
Driving up to Chemeketa Park felt like a trip back in time. Growing up in Cupertino and spending weekends in Santa Cruz, the scent of the redwoods and the winding mountain roads immediately brought back fond childhood memories. Instead of the sterile environment of a San Jose hotel, I spent my evenings watching the sunset—a quiet, powerful way to reminisce.
What makes this spot special are the details. I spent my mornings making drip coffee (using some great Japanese blends I brought along) and enjoying the stillness of the mountain air.
As a Boy Scout leader, I always live by the Leave No Trace principles, and this site makes it easy to be a respectful guest. The unit is clean, the Wi-Fi is reliable for those who need to stay connected, and the hosts are just a text away if you need anything.
Final Verdict: Whether you’re a local looking to reconnect with the landscape or a professional tired of the "business-casual" hotel life, this Airstream is a gem. I’m already planning my next stay.

We loved staying at Pharo Pharms. Its location is perfect to launch a day of adventure. We spent hours hiking around the area and then returning to relax and enjoy the view of the vineyards. We brought a 29’ travel trailer and parked perpendicular to the fence which worked out great for us. The road in is narrow and bumpy so drive carefully. The grounds are well maintained and the farm animals are charming.

We had a wonderful stay at the Blackberry Farm! The campsite is great and has all the facilities that you need. Our hosts' kindness and the many thoughtful details around the site made our stay very special and one of our highlights of our trip. The Redwood Trees and animals on the farm make for a both calming and vibrant environment. The location allows for a variety of hikes within a short drive or to explore the nearby coast towns.

Pharo Pharms was our home base for our 2 nights exploring Sonoma. We were pretty busy during the day, since there is so much to see and do in the Sonoma area, but it was nice to come back to the farm at the end of the day where it was peaceful and quiet, with only the sounds of birds, sheep and chickens to be heard. This is a working farm, so you should be prepared to get into that vibe and enjoy it for what it is and not expect it to exactly like your home or some other campground. You will hear sounds of those animals, including a rooster in the morning. There is farm equipment all around, dirt, gravel, grass, and even a boat on a trailer. This is rural living, and we enjoyed it for what it was. A friendly cat with 6 toes (polydactyl) came around, and was friendly if you approach gently and let him come to you. We have a van with solar and batteries so didn't need the extension power cord that was there, but we did use the water hose to fill up our water jugs. It was nice and quiet and dark at night, and morning greeted us with the sounds of all the animals making all their normal noises. We were the only campers there, and I think that's how it is. Only one camping group at a time. There aren't many camping options in Sonoma, so this is a good find!

Getting there means driving on a very narrow and winding road for about 5km. It is however well worth it. It feels very private and secluded even though there are houses sprinkled through the valley. Lots of room to set up and enjoy 360’ views from sunrise to sunset. My two dogs enjoyed the freedom of running around without having to stay tethered to my camper. Clean porta potty. I didn’t see any potable water but I’m sure I could get some from the host if I needed it. Given a chance in the future, I would return.

Great location, close to many wineries and downtown Sonoma. The RV spot is directly behind the host’s house, but we parked to face the beautiful vineyards and it felt perfectly private. Beautiful sunsets, woke to see the sky dotted with hot air balloons. Pretty magical.

We had a wonderful time! The space is huge and very private. The pond was pretty, the morning and evening fog were so serene. The outdoor shower made camping super ideal - especially for 4 days. Loved the little sink area and the fire pit. All of the picnic tables made setting up/having counter space no issue at all. Also, the porta potties were the cleanest porta potties I’ve ever seen. There were a lot of local hikes/walks that were beautiful - only a short drive away so we could explore during the day and come back to a beautiful site afterwards. We had an amazing trip and hope to come back again in the future!

Just what I needed. MY husband asked when I got back… do you see any people? Nope, I said— only cows, quail and a few raptors. Beautiful views. Rebecca was accommodating even though I caught her by surprise— asking to camp in the post rain muck. She expressed care and was lovely. It’s a pricy spot.. but you are paying for privacy at the top of a rolling hill. I’ve never stayed anywhere like it.
