Our four acre property has a small guest studio and two dry campsites. Belmont Road is a mile long dirt road, but passable with any car or bicycle. Our lot is four acres. We live in a one acre fenced corner including the guest casita, leaving about 2.5 acres for the campsites. The area is considered suburban ranch, so other homes on other 3-4 acre lots are visible.
Our land abuts Saguaro National Park West, 1/4 mile past the Belmont Trailhead. It is the only camping area on the readily accessible eastern side of Saguaro NP's west unit.

Campers can enjoy a warm beautiful sunset and star gazing in the evening, with views of the hazy band of the Milky Way and shooting stars next to the fire pit provided at each site. This is a safe place to get off the road for a bit, or to take a break from the busy/noisy city life, to relax and unwind in nature! Dogs are welcome, but please pick up after your pet!
There is also a Round Pen provided for travelers with up to 2 horses with a fill station for water. Feed will be intermittently available to purchase for those in need.

The main camping area is a flat area on the mountainside East of Summerhaven, with a steep approach (be prepared!). The view from the area is great, and the area has some pines, as do the neighboring properties. Turkey cross the property seasonally, as well as the occasional deer. This is a leave no trace site.
The site is current undergoing enchancements, so there will be evidence of demolished boulders, landscaping, and fencing. The site is safe to traverse, but care should be taken to avoid rock and uneven terrain, fence posts, and so on. Usage of the site is at your own risk.
Toilet and waste:
A bucket toilet is provided, with composting bags. Toilet waste, as well as other waste, must be taken with you, when you leave; there is no trash service. There are sometimes dumpsters in town that can be used to dispose of waste.
The bucket toilet consists of a bucket, bucket seat, funnel, and hose. The consumables are composting toilet bags, wood shavings/chips, and toilet paper. You do not need to use the funnel and hose, but may if you wish. At a minimum, place the bag into the bucket, with the bag edge over the edge of the bucket, and place the bucket seat onto the bucket. The bucket seat should firmly fit onto the bucket, and retain the bag.
When your stay is complete, please make sure the seat and bucket are clean, as well as the funnel and hose, if you used them. Please make sure all supplies are returned to the Toilet Supplies container.
Directions:
The address is 12672 N Ray Ave.
Make your way to the intersection of N Sabino Canyon Parkway and Retreat Rd. in Summerhaven, AZ. Head east up the steep Retreat Rd., and make the right onto Tucson Ave., followed by a quick left onto what Google says is Ray Ave. Make an immediate right onto N. Ray Ave, and follow the dirt road until a steep driveway on the left appears. This driveway (and the other entrance 100 ft further on) provide access to the land. If trying to park off the driveway, enter the first driveway entrance to drive forward onto the approach and park, or enter the second driveway and then back onto the approach and park. Once parked (See Parking for additional instructions), access the land from the driveway according to the images.
Parking:
WARNING: Do not park on the driveway itself. There is a half-moon driveway that provides a way to either drive forward or backward onto the approach. Park on the (1) dirt approach to the land, just off the steep driveway, or (2) on the half moon parking spot at the top of the driveway, or (3) at the bottom on Ray Ave, out of the way. If any vehicles are blocking vehicular access to the dirt approach to the land, please contact me.
Recreation:
The shops of Summerhaven are close. Marshall Gulch is a popular recreation area on the Arizona Trail, South of Summerhaven. There is also a lot of opportunity to hike and rock climb on the area.
The area is not very suitable for RVs; it is not possible to bring an RV onto the property.

The main camping area is a flat area on the mountainside East of Summerhaven, with a steep approach (be prepared!). The view from the area is great, and the area has some pines, as do the neighboring properties. Turkey cross the property seasonally, as well as the occasional deer. This is a leave no trace site.
The site is current undergoing enchancements, so there will be evidence of demolished boulders, landscaping, and fencing. The site is safe to traverse, but care should be taken to avoid rock and uneven terrain, fence posts, and so on. Usage of the site is at your own risk.
Toilet and waste:
A bucket toilet is provided, with composting bags. Toilet waste, as well as other waste, must be taken with you, when you leave; there is no trash service. There are sometimes dumpsters in town that can be used to dispose of waste.
The bucket toilet consists of a bucket, bucket seat, funnel, and hose. The consumables are composting toilet bags, wood shavings/chips, and toilet paper. You do not need to use the funnel and hose, but may if you wish. At a minimum, place the bag into the bucket, with the bag edge over the edge of the bucket, and place the bucket seat onto the bucket. The bucket seat should firmly fit onto the bucket, and retain the bag.
When your stay is complete, please make sure the seat and bucket are clean, as well as the funnel and hose, if you used them. Please make sure all supplies are returned to the Toilet Supplies container.

The address is 12672 N Ray Ave.
Make your way to the intersection of N Sabino Canyon Parkway and Retreat Rd. in Summerhaven, AZ. Head east up the steep Retreat Rd., and make the right onto Tucson Ave., followed by a quick left onto what Google says is Ray Ave. Make an immediate right onto N. Ray Ave, and follow the dirt road until a steep driveway on the left appears. This driveway (and the other entrance 100 ft further on) provide access to the land. If trying to park off the driveway, enter the first driveway entrance to drive forward onto the approach and park, or enter the second driveway and then back onto the approach and park. Once parked (See Parking for additional instructions), access the land from the driveway according to the images.
Parking:
WARNING: Do not park on the driveway itself. There is a half-moon driveway that provides a way to either drive forward or backward onto the approach. Park on the (1) dirt approach to the land, just off the steep driveway, or (2) on the half moon parking spot at the top of the driveway, or (3) at the bottom on Ray Ave, out of the way. If any vehicles are blocking vehicular access to the dirt approach to the land, please contact me.
Recreation:
The shops of Summerhaven are close. Marshall Gulch is a popular recreation area on the Arizona Trail, South of Summerhaven. There is also a lot of opportunity to hike and rock climb on the area.
The area is not very suitable for RVs; it is not possible to bring an RV onto the property.

This is a spacious, beautiful and private RV site. Bob and Cindy went above and beyond by providing a welcome kit. It’s located in quiet neighborhood next to a preserve with walking trails. The full hookups worked perfectly. The offered 30 amp service would be challenging to keep our RV cool in the warmer months, but was plenty adequate for January.

My girl and I camped at Saguaro Sky Ranch for two nights with our dogs and loved every minute of it. Barb and Brian are top-notch hosts — some of the kindest folks you’ll ever meet. Quiet, peaceful, no city noise, just stars overhead and a fire pit at night. Even had a horse and ponies around, which was a nice touch. They were also accommodating to our two dogs, allowing us to let them loose in a fully caged area.
Two thumbs up. 5 stars, 10/10 — would recommend to anyone.

The platform tent site at Weary Traveler Haven was clean, beautiful, and incredibly peaceful—exactly what we were hoping for over the holiday season. Communication with Taylor was excellent from start to finish, making everything easy and stress-free. We truly enjoyed the quiet surroundings and would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing tent- camping getaway. We truly enjoyed our 28 day stay here. Bob and Cindy were available when needed yet they did not interfere with our stay. The site gave us plenty of room as well as all the requirements for a full hook up. One word of caution would be to make sure and supervise your children walking about as it is a desert and many cacti in the area. They have placed some creatures throughout and finding them was a surprise. Do visit if you can and we will certainly do so again if in this area. Thanks Bob and Cindy for creating this awesome space.

We have been traveling full time in our RV for 6 months and this was one of our favorite stays. Bill and his family are great hosts, and made us feel right at home. Our kids loved the in ground trampoline, the hot tub and the playground, and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The equine experience was a highlight for our family, and we learned a lot about horses. Couldn’t recommend Double H Hacienda any higher.

Barb's place is lovely - lots of open, Saguaro-filled land, horses, and open sky. 5 nights at Gila River View
This was one of the best places we've ever stayed! The host, Amber, was incredible and made sure we had everything we needed. The area is secluded and private and we never heard any noise other than nature. We loved that it's a working cattle ranch with horses, cattle, and pigs. The animals were all friendly and never bothered us. Oh, there was a very friendly barn cat that did snuggle with us a bunch! The camper was an amazing accommodation that offered everything we needed for an indoor experience and sleeping.
The hiking opportunities are endless here! With just a 10 minute hike you can be on the top of a mountain overlooking 2 different valleys that the Gila river runs through. In about a 20-25ish minute hike you can make it from the camp clear into a hidden valley on the back side and make it right up to a secret spot next to the Gila river. We spent half a day at this spot relaxing and enjoying the weather and nature!
It's about a 10 minute drive to the nearest town for any supplies or if you want a restaurant. We only went once to get more drinking water and we were back at camp within the hour!
We will definitely stay here again! We love the place and it's less than 2 hours from our house!

Barb’s space is lovely, complete with a koi pond and shaded picnic spot. She has created quite the little haven of relaxation. Outdoor bathroom/shower was perfect, exactly what we needed for our one night. I will say, there was quite a bit of road noise, which was unavoidable but not awesome.

This was my first time camping and I do have to say it was phenomenal. the houses that were around were not too close, so it felt very private. Being my first time camping I did enjoy being able to hear people in the far far distance, actually made me feel more safe quite. A few coyotes being vocal throughout the night and local residents dogs were barking randomly which I did enjoy hearing different kinds of dogs barking. Truly felt comfortable and absolutely love the open view of the mountains. the Sunset was absolutely gorgeous would absolutely recommend!!!

This place was absolutely beautiful! Clean restrooms and nice and warm/hot shower. Taylor was friendly and easy to communicate with, Getting here was a breeze. I will say if you want a completely quiet stay or if you’re a light sleeper this place might not be for you since you can hear cars as they’re driving by. But 10/10 recommend!!!
