The road to the property is about 0.8 miles and is considered dirt rugged. It will require you to so down under 5 miles an hour in a few places. You have the entire road to travel on and maneuver around the big bumps. I drive my car to the property ever time and don't have an issue if I slow down and go around large holes. If there is a recent storm in the area the road will be difficult to navigate.

We are a family-owned RV park and tiny home village located 50 minutes from the east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and only 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, Arizona. The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!

The Moonshiner is a vintage 1960's camper that has been lovingly renovated. She sleeps 2 people cozily on a shared pull out bed. There is no light pollution out here, so you can see the Milky Way most nights. Enjoy a huge skylight over the double bed for some of the best stargazing in the country!
The Moonshiner is set up on a private acre in a safe and peaceful neighborhood, approximately 30-40 minutes from the Grand Canyon (depending on your driving style and traffic).
Guests have full private access to the camper and the surrounding yard. The camper is on a private acre and it’s all yours to do your thing. Your privacy will always be respected, and the property is laid out to ensure that.
Please note that the camper does not lock from the outside, but you can lock yourself inside with a deadbolt.
This is a community run camper/campsite. Open communication really helps things run smoothly, please contact me if there are any issues regarding your stay. We are unable to offer refunds due to weather, cold temperatures, road conditions or if it wasn't as easy to find as you would have liked. This is a camping adventure, you may face challenges, PLEASE know what you're getting yourself into and come prepared!
Guests are responsible to bring whatever supplies you think you may need for a good camping experience, such as: water, food, sleeping bags and pillows, lantern, battery bank for charging devices, firewood and propane for the heater.
Instead of a normal toilet, we have a compostable camping toilet. Just line the toilet bucket with a provided compostable bag, then put the bag in the compost bin on site before checking out.

Great location near the Grand Canyon! Just an open piece of land for boondocking - there may be other campers present during your stay.
The stars and night sky out here are amazing and completely worth the trip.
**Please use the coordinates. The property is 40 minutes north of Williams. If your GPS takes you into Williams that is the wrong location.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The last one mile to the location is a bumpy dirt road. Imagine the worst road you’ve been on - this is slightly better and if this is the worst you’ve been on .. well then live a little.
In the past, some people complained about the dirt road not being in good shape due to rains. Please know that we are not responsible for or even aware of the road conditions to the property.
Unfortunately, the county has done no maintenance since the early 1990s and has no plans to. The quotes we have received to fix just the worst parts have been between $35,000 and $50,000.
Lastly, check the signs on the way in the area about fire danger and whether you are able to have a campfire or not. If you are allowed, please make sure to fully extinguish it.
We are working on bringing services and upgrades to the property. All money being earned will go towards this effort.

What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. The Moonshiner is a vintage 1960's camper that has been lovingly renovated. She sleeps 2 people cozily on a shared pull out bed. There is no light pollution out here, so you can see the Milky Way most nights. Enjoy a huge skylight over the double bed for some of the best stargazing in the country!
The Moonshiner is set up on a private acre in a safe and peaceful neighborhood, approximately 30-40 minutes from the Grand Canyon (depending on your driving style and traffic).
Guests have full private access to the camper and the surrounding yard. The camper is on a private acre and it’s all yours to do your thing. Your privacy will always be respected, and the property is laid out to ensure that.
Please note that the camper does not lock from the outside, but you can lock yourself inside with a deadbolt.
This is a community run camper/campsite. Open communication really helps things run smoothly, please contact me if there are any issues regarding your stay. We are unable to offer refunds due to weather, cold temperatures, road conditions or if it wasn't as easy to find as you would have liked. This is a camping adventure, you may face challenges, PLEASE know what you're getting yourself into and come prepared!
Guests are responsible to bring whatever supplies you think you may need for a good camping experience, such as: water, food, sleeping bags and pillows, lantern, battery bank for charging devices, firewood and propane for the heater.
Instead of a normal toilet, we have a compostable camping toilet. Just line the toilet bucket with a provided compostable bag, then put the bag in the compost bin on site before checking out.

Great location near the Grand Canyon! Just an open piece of land for boondocking - there may be other campers present during your stay.
The stars and night sky out here are amazing and completely worth the trip.
**Please use the coordinates. The property is 40 minutes north of Williams. If your GPS takes you into Williams that is the wrong location.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The last one mile to the location is a bumpy dirt road. Imagine the worst road you’ve been on - this is slightly better and if this is the worst you’ve been on .. well then live a little.
In the past, some people complained about the dirt road not being in good shape due to rains. Please know that we are not responsible for or even aware of the road conditions to the property.
Unfortunately, the county has done no maintenance since the early 1990s and has no plans to. The quotes we have received to fix just the worst parts have been between $35,000 and $50,000.
Lastly, check the signs on the way in the area about fire danger and whether you are able to have a campfire or not. If you are allowed, please make sure to fully extinguish it.
We are working on bringing services and upgrades to the property. All money being earned will go towards this effort.

We really appreciated being able to boondock at Grand Canyon Oasis. It was the perfect stop on our way home to CO. The views were beautiful, the location was super convenient, and on moonless nights the stars would be amazing. The facilities are fun and the hosts were very welcoming. One thing for anyone with pop up campers like we had, the Hwy is close and you do hear the road noise, so for light sleepers just take note. It wasn’t an issue at all for us and in full RVs or the tiny homes it’s probably not an issue either. I also appreciated how the property was set up as it felt very private, safe, and secure, despite being right off the hwy. Finally, while we didn’t have our dogs on this trip, they are pet friendly and working on a fenced dog area, which is a huge plus! I would definitely stay there again!

I was a little hesitant to book the airstream because there were little reviews but I’m so glad we did. We had a great time staying in the airstream with four adults and two kids - it was the perfect spot to kick back and unwind after a long day at Grand Canyon. The airstream had everything in it that we needed and we all enjoyed the hot tub and the sauna! There are limited amenities nearby (at least this time of year) so plan ahead and bring dinner with you like we did. Although there is a Chevron if you need snacks or beer etc. We will definitely be returning to rent the airstream again!

This was such a wonderful stay! The kitchen had everything and then some, the cabin was good sized for 4 adults and a dog, the bathroom and home were very clean, plenty of firewood and so many other great things.

This is the place to be for Big Dark Skies. Horizon to horizon views, no neighbors, and no big cities nearby. As the listings say, also no amenities, and the dirt road is rutted (but not very long). It is very pleasant if you come prepared. I got some great milkyway photos with a DSLR and deep space photos through a telescope. There is just a hint of sky glow from Valle and from Flagstaff but it is very localized on the horizon.

Stopped over for a night on a long trip and this was the perfect place to land after a day of driving. We wish we could have stayed longer! The park was adorable, easy to find, easy to park in, clean, and quiet. The stars were incredible! Hookups all worked excellent and the wifi worked flawlessly! We would definitely stay here again when passing through or for a few days to relax!

The camper is so cute and the landscape beautiful, remember to bring bedding and propane to stay warm if you're staying in winter. Absolutely recommend this spot!

This was a peaceful campsite with mountain views all around, not many neighbors so it felt private. The camper was rustic and cozy and we loved the decor. The guitar was a nice touch. Would recommened as a very affordable option near the canyon!
