We offer a RURAL, rustic camping experience. Our property is off-grid thus we cannot offer you any sort of facilities or services at this time. We chose Outpost in our name because we believe it provides an accurate description: An outpost is a remote, isolated station, settlement, or camp located at a distance from the main body.
Our property is 7.4 miles down a dirt Indian Route road through a significant wash and while 4 wheel drive is ideal, you can make it in nice weather conditions without 4 wheel drive. Keith’s sister made it in her Chevrolet Sonic, for example. Large RVs (>30') may scrape along the way; we did with our 40' fifth wheel.
Our 60 acre property offers a unique experience for those looking for a place to unplug and explore with plenty of privacy and room to roam. You'll enjoy incredible views of the Painted Desert, Gray Mountain, and the San Francisco peaks. The night skies will be unlike anything you’ve seen unless you have been in the middle of the ocean with no light pollution.
Some important things to note about our property:
Our property will always and forever be a Safe Place for all people. We hold no prejudices regardless of race, ethnicity, or creeds. Our guests will always be respected, loved and welcome and it must be that way with other guests.
We are a clothing optional campground, which means you may, if you so choose, be naked on our property.
We are pet-friendly. We have two medium size puppies. Let's ensure our furry friends have as much fun as we are having by keeping them on a leash and we clean up after them. We also wouldn't want them to chase away the wild mustangs, which are beautiful to see in full gallop, that will come through the property from time to time.
NOTICE: As a rural desert location you or your pet may encounter wildlife (nice and not so nice ones) while on the property or hiking around in the wilderness.
We hope you want to disconnect. While Starlink is available, your cell phone likely will not have service.

Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

This is “Stone Soup,” in honor of unique geology and a folktale where everyone brings something to make a whole greater than its parts. A hut, built with love during musical campouts, materials are recycled from building sites may be available, on a first-come first serve basis, but please don't count on anything being there but the open land and sky.
There are 40 acres to explore and camp on. You can follow the property boundaries, or just head straight out from the hut away from the road or on the other side of the road for at least half a mile and camp anywhere. You can drive all over the land in a regular vehicle and find your spot.
If you do use the hut, please leave it in better shape than you found it. Same with the land.
Here is my vision: Adventurous, creative, nature-loving kindred souls can converge on these 40 acres and bring what they need but also share with one another (the stone soup spirit). Although you do need to take in and out everything (water, food, bedding...) and there is no outhouse at the moment (dunes for some privacy, and thinly bury your waste), you can drive anywhere on the land and have what you need in your vehicle. It sometimes gets windy, so car-camping is recommended over tents, though you can also bring your RV.
Basically at the moment, this is an isolated, wild campsite, with total peace and quiet but where you bring everything. There is no running water, cooking supplies, or toilet. You may find firewood further down the road, and can have a fire anytime, but nothing is supplied. You will need to take your trash with you. The photos are not up to date and still show amenities that are not there. The hut may be available, but it is just a structure with no door.
Also note that there is no way to get there with Google maps/ GPS coordinate. I will send detailed directions if you book, but you probably want to arrive with some daylight.
If prepared to rough it, it's a gorgeous site with open sky, amazing views, stars, rocks, and silence.

The stars and night sky out here are amazing and completely worth the trip.
**Please use the coordinates. The property is 40 minutes north of Williams. If your GPS takes you into Williams that is the wrong location.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The last one mile to the location is a bumpy dirt road. Imagine the worst road you’ve been on - this is slightly better and if this is the worst you’ve been on .. well then live a little.
In the past, some people complained about the dirt road not being in good shape due to rains. Please know that we are not responsible for or even aware of the road conditions to the property.
Unfortunately, the county has done no maintenance since the early 1990s and has no plans to. The quotes we have received to fix just the worst parts have been between $35,000 and $50,000.
Lastly, check the signs on the way in the area about fire danger and whether you are able to have a campfire or not. If you are allowed, please make sure to fully extinguish it.
We are working on bringing services and upgrades to the property. All money being earned will go towards this effort.

We offer a RURAL, rustic camping experience. Our property is off-grid thus we cannot offer you any sort of facilities or services at this time. We chose Outpost in our name because we believe it provides an accurate description: An outpost is a remote, isolated station, settlement, or camp located at a distance from the main body.
Our property is 7.4 miles down a dirt Indian Route road through a significant wash and while 4 wheel drive is ideal, you can make it in nice weather conditions without 4 wheel drive. Keith’s sister made it in her Chevrolet Sonic, for example. Large RVs (>30') may scrape along the way; we did with our 40' fifth wheel.
Our 60 acre property offers a unique experience for those looking for a place to unplug and explore with plenty of privacy and room to roam. You'll enjoy incredible views of the Painted Desert, Gray Mountain, and the San Francisco peaks. The night skies will be unlike anything you’ve seen unless you have been in the middle of the ocean with no light pollution.
Some important things to note about our property:
Our property will always and forever be a Safe Place for all people. We hold no prejudices regardless of race, ethnicity, or creeds. Our guests will always be respected, loved and welcome and it must be that way with other guests.
We are a clothing optional campground, which means you may, if you so choose, be naked on our property.
We are pet-friendly. We have two medium size puppies. Let's ensure our furry friends have as much fun as we are having by keeping them on a leash and we clean up after them. We also wouldn't want them to chase away the wild mustangs, which are beautiful to see in full gallop, that will come through the property from time to time.
NOTICE: As a rural desert location you or your pet may encounter wildlife (nice and not so nice ones) while on the property or hiking around in the wilderness.
We hope you want to disconnect. While Starlink is available, your cell phone likely will not have service.

Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

This is “Stone Soup,” in honor of unique geology and a folktale where everyone brings something to make a whole greater than its parts. A hut, built with love during musical campouts, materials are recycled from building sites may be available, on a first-come first serve basis, but please don't count on anything being there but the open land and sky.
There are 40 acres to explore and camp on. You can follow the property boundaries, or just head straight out from the hut away from the road or on the other side of the road for at least half a mile and camp anywhere. You can drive all over the land in a regular vehicle and find your spot.
If you do use the hut, please leave it in better shape than you found it. Same with the land.
Here is my vision: Adventurous, creative, nature-loving kindred souls can converge on these 40 acres and bring what they need but also share with one another (the stone soup spirit). Although you do need to take in and out everything (water, food, bedding...) and there is no outhouse at the moment (dunes for some privacy, and thinly bury your waste), you can drive anywhere on the land and have what you need in your vehicle. It sometimes gets windy, so car-camping is recommended over tents, though you can also bring your RV.
Basically at the moment, this is an isolated, wild campsite, with total peace and quiet but where you bring everything. There is no running water, cooking supplies, or toilet. You may find firewood further down the road, and can have a fire anytime, but nothing is supplied. You will need to take your trash with you. The photos are not up to date and still show amenities that are not there. The hut may be available, but it is just a structure with no door.
Also note that there is no way to get there with Google maps/ GPS coordinate. I will send detailed directions if you book, but you probably want to arrive with some daylight.
If prepared to rough it, it's a gorgeous site with open sky, amazing views, stars, rocks, and silence.

The stars and night sky out here are amazing and completely worth the trip.
**Please use the coordinates. The property is 40 minutes north of Williams. If your GPS takes you into Williams that is the wrong location.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The last one mile to the location is a bumpy dirt road. Imagine the worst road you’ve been on - this is slightly better and if this is the worst you’ve been on .. well then live a little.
In the past, some people complained about the dirt road not being in good shape due to rains. Please know that we are not responsible for or even aware of the road conditions to the property.
Unfortunately, the county has done no maintenance since the early 1990s and has no plans to. The quotes we have received to fix just the worst parts have been between $35,000 and $50,000.
Lastly, check the signs on the way in the area about fire danger and whether you are able to have a campfire or not. If you are allowed, please make sure to fully extinguish it.
We are working on bringing services and upgrades to the property. All money being earned will go towards this effort.

We really appreciated being able to boondock at Grand Canyon Oasis. It was the perfect stop on our way home to CO. The views were beautiful, the location was super convenient, and on moonless nights the stars would be amazing. The facilities are fun and the hosts were very welcoming. One thing for anyone with pop up campers like we had, the Hwy is close and you do hear the road noise, so for light sleepers just take note. It wasn’t an issue at all for us and in full RVs or the tiny homes it’s probably not an issue either. I also appreciated how the property was set up as it felt very private, safe, and secure, despite being right off the hwy. Finally, while we didn’t have our dogs on this trip, they are pet friendly and working on a fenced dog area, which is a huge plus! I would definitely stay there again!

Very friendly staff. The area is perfect for stargazing, is located between both entrances for the Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument loop, and they even rent tiny homes for the night versus just having rv spots. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the clubhouse which has ping pong, darts, pool, skeeball, TV, books, arts and crafts supplies, etc. It's got options for fun for the whole family.

Great place! Shelley and Adam greeted us and showed us around and gave us all the info we needed. Adam is about to complete a large dog park on the property. Terrific lodge room w/kitchen, snacks, games ,TV, warm water restroom , ping pong, seating and a great family feel. Give these guys a shot. 5 stars!!

Stopped in for a quick overnighter. We were Boondocking so we didn’t use the amenities. The views of the snow cap peaks was beautiful from this location. Nice tiny house village. The owners were courteous and professional. Would definitely stay there again.

This was such a wonderful stay! The kitchen had everything and then some, the cabin was good sized for 4 adults and a dog, the bathroom and home were very clean, plenty of firewood and so many other great things.

This is the place to be for Big Dark Skies. Horizon to horizon views, no neighbors, and no big cities nearby. As the listings say, also no amenities, and the dirt road is rutted (but not very long). It is very pleasant if you come prepared. I got some great milkyway photos with a DSLR and deep space photos through a telescope. There is just a hint of sky glow from Valle and from Flagstaff but it is very localized on the horizon.

Stopped over for a night on a long trip and this was the perfect place to land after a day of driving. We wish we could have stayed longer! The park was adorable, easy to find, easy to park in, clean, and quiet. The stars were incredible! Hookups all worked excellent and the wifi worked flawlessly! We would definitely stay here again when passing through or for a few days to relax!

She is located in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to downtown.
It was perfect, easy and as described.
We would not hesitate to recommend to others traveling in a smaller rig.
