This place was perfect. I will always come back when I’m in the Tucson area. It was stunningly beautiful, huge, impeccably clean and very prívate. I liked it so much I extended my stay after I saw the site.

2 nights at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

My husband and I stayed at Karla’s Hipcamp for two nights and throughly enjoyed ourselves. I enjoyed several refreshing dips is the pool and my husband and I bird watched from her front porch in the early evening! The grounds are delightful with Karla’s many artistic creations and arrangements.

4 nights at The Mountain View Spot!

Lovely views and it was fun to watch the birds feeding while relaxing in the gazebo. Also fun hiking and mountain biking trails nearby also.

Karla’s Hummingbird will be at the top of my favorite places to stay. I hope she doesn’t get sick of us. Even with bad weather it was part of the experience. She's a great host and we can’t wait to go back.

Weekend Trip to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

Karla’s place exceeded our expectations, she has created a comfortable cowgirl chic oasis with lots of fun spaces to hang out. We had dinner in the shaded picnic area every evening, even though it was windy, the shade screens sheltered us. The view of the mountains is wonderful, the pool chilly but refreshing after hiking all day, and after dark the lighting is magical. Bathrooms and showers were clean, she lent us a 50-30 amp converter for our stay. Karla stopped by to see how we were doing but otherwise left us to do our own thing. She’s a wonderful host, hope we can make it back here again next year.

Bob and Cindy have a wonderful little spot that is convenient to so many things in Tucson. It’s like being in the wilderness but still having the amenities of the city. Cindy was very helpful. It’s extremely well maintained. I know some people complained about the dirt road but we did not find it that big of a deal. We hope that we get the opportunity to wander in that direction again and stay at the Wild Burro!

Cannot say enough positive things about Chris and the wonderful spot he and his wife provided. Close to conveniences such as markets, carb wash, laundromat, dining etc. yet feels like it’s country. Sitting under the gazebo and viewing all the birds thanks to the bird feeders being stocked regularly was such a plus for us. Even a rubbish bin was provided (fellow HipCampers; please do not abuse it by overfilling). One truly feels at home here. We hated to leave! Would definitely come again and happy to recommend!

1 night at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

Karla was such a warm and welcoming individual. Her passion for art and aesthetic was beautifully expressed within her property. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

1 night at Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

The site is absolutely spotless! Karla met us at the gate and walked us around the property. It is quiet and secluded, although she has 2 cheeky horses nearby. One kicks the stall (see cheeky!) and if youre not familiar with the sound it can be jarring. The whole property is decorated with whimsy and an eye for color. we ended up throwing an air mattress in the cabana instead of hassling with a tent and were quite comfy. Highly recommend.

4 nights at Desert Getaway in Avra Valley

NOTE: Electricity hookup is 50 amp only. Make sure you bring an adapter if you’re 20 or 30 amp. Area is rural with a mix of site built and mobile homes, single wides. Older area and pretty quiet. Our travel trailer is only 20 ft so for the most part we leave the dining area in “bed mode “. Host furnished a picnic table which was a great help. DOG OWNERS: please dispose of dog poop. Don’t leave it lying around for flies to breed in. We haven’t been disappointed dogs but always take care of our pooch poo.

James was a great host and the location exceeded our expectations! It really does back up to park land and the views were phenomenal! Be sure to follow the driving instructions he gives you!! Google maps took me in a different and non passable way.

Weekend Trip to Iron Quail Ranch

Iron Quail is amazing. I can't say enough nice things. The hosts are super attentive and accessible. The sites are impeccable. The views spectacular, you're surrounded by breathtaking views 360⁰. The sunsets!!!!! The bathhouse is clean. Opt to have a mesquite pancake bfast. You won't be disappointed. Don't be concerned if you book the Kitt site and the proximity to the goats. They do not make a peep through the night.

Melanie’s little space was beautiful and clean. We had a wonderful time under the huge shade trees. Looking forward to staying here gain in the future.

Very cute small RV camp site. Host is on site and super helpful. Easy in and out. Sites have full 50 amp electric, water, and sewer hook ups. Lots to do in the area. Down the street at humming bird sanctuary. Well known biking area. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a hidden gem for those who appreciate natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by desert cactus and framed by gorgeous mountain views, it offers a scenic and relaxing experience. It is reasonably private. Full hookups work great. The only downside is the access road, which is fairly rough and may be a bit challenging for larger rigs—so it’s best to take it slow on the way in. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy the desert in comfort and quiet.

Wonderful place! I absolutely enjoyed my stay there- Toni and Karl were so welcoming and friendly. El Pais is so unique- it's like Palm Springs meets Meow Wolf- the creativity and artistic expression is fantastic. The free hot coffee mornings in the outdoor lounge/patio is so nice, and eggs are stocked in the vintage fridge. The free laundry is a huge plus. And as funky as it is- it is still totally professionally maintained, clean and orderly. Highly, highly recommended!

Beautiful, private setting. Bob and Cindy are amazing hosts! The welcome box was a wonderful addition. We will definitely stay here for future visits!

Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! All guests must be over the age of 18. My private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. I have 2 horses and lots of local birds hang out here. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the cover. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. There is a restroom/breakfast room off the pool area. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You must arrive by dark. My gates will be closed at dark. At night you will hear coyotes, you might see javilina. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. My place is 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. You will see a lot of quail and other birds on the property. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Each tent, and/or a place where people sleep is a campsite....in other words you can't book 1 tent camping site and then add your friends who come in their vehicle and set up a campsite.
