Our location is mid-way between Ash Fork and Seligman, AZ off of Route 66.
It is pristine juniper covered land in every direction at 5200'+ elevation with incredible Northwest Arizona mountain and valley views. If you're looking to enjoy the off-grid camping experience, come stay a night or 2 on "The 40 on Rte. 66." During new moon times, the sky is full of stars and the Milky Way is easily visible. During full moon times, the trees and ground are lit up in all directions. Sightings of deer and jackrabbits are common as well as hearing coyotes in the distance. Being open range land, the cattle will wander into sight. Various cacti and desert plants around the campsites. Nearby Route 66 attractions include Ash Fork, Seligman and Williams. Grand Canyon National Park is approx. 1.5 hours away. We are along the longest remaining un-interrupted sections of Route 66.
We have several improved camp sites to make your stay easier; however, there are plenty of unmarked and unimproved areas within the Hipcamp area for you to stay. This is our land but you are welcomed to camp your way. All are welcomed. 420 friendly. Please be respectful of your fellow Hipcampers.

This is a camping area just 5 miles from restaurants, bars, quaint little tourist stores, gas stations and even a hardware store.
Located just west of Seligman with road access directly to the property and excellent access to Interstate 40 and Route 66.
You can rest and gather your thoughts while enjoying the great outdoors.
You can drive right onto the property and set up your RV or your tents.
There are four sites available to book and a community picnic area that has barbecue grill, table, chairs, Putt-Putt, cornhole, horseshoes, and frisbee golf equipment for you to use. Just please put everything back the way you found it.
There are no services at this site it is a dry camping area for as many days as you need.
Whatever you pack in you must pack out. No garbage waste or pollution whatsoever.
The meadow is full of prairie dogs so be careful driving around so you don't drive into a prairie dog hole.
No campfires or open flames at all.
All campers must have their own waste facility such as their own camping toilet and water source.
Absolutely No dumping any waste on the property.
There's no electricity on the property so bringing your own generator is a good idea, if you need electricity.

Off-grid without being remote. About 8 minutes from a small nearby town on county-maintained roads (when they get around to it). It’s generally very quiet here, though you may occasionally hear quads and trucks passing through.
Wildlife is abundant: elk, mule deer, antelope (two species), coyotes, jackrabbits, cottontail rabbits, and ground squirrels are often seen. Hiking, mountain biking, off-roading, horseback riding, and recreational shooting are available in the National Forest about half a mile down the road. Horse boarding is also available.
The Corral gas station is a local meeting spot with a small sitting area and community bulletin board.
When people wave at you, they’re not mistaking you for someone else—wave back. Folks are very friendly here.
The sleepy town of Ash Fork on historic Route 66 (8 minutes by car) has a few interesting shops, a museum, two local restaurants, a truck stop with fast food, and local mechanics who keep everyone moving. Ash Fork is known as the Flagstone Capital of America—or the World, depending on who you ask.
Relax and surf the web at the air-conditioned local library, a key community hub and package pickup location. And yes, there’s a bar—its claim to fame is a giant teakwood elephant head. If petting a teakwood elephant is on your bucket list, you’re in luck.
Your campsite location is up to you. Choose a shaded or open spot depending on your preference. Tent sites are served by a porta-potty. Several water fill locations are available, and we keep a few hundred gallons on site for refills. There is a dump station in town for RVs.
Most importantly, someone will be within shouting distance if needed.
Please note this is a working ranch. Dogs must be leashed, tethered, or under direct control at all times. Do not approach livestock—free-range animals can be protective and should be respected at a distance.

A pretty special place to camp among the junipers and pinion pines on top of Howard Mesa. Enjoy amazing distant views by day, unbelievable night skies, and gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. There are currently three secluded camp spots, each hundreds of feet away from the other. This is a peaceful place to camp away from everything and still be able to visit numerous nearby attractions of every kind.
Coming soon: each campsite is getting it's own clean outhouse and a picnic table under a ramada, plus other improvements as budget allows.

I was looking for a convenient but comfortable place to stay for the night close to Rt 40. I found it here. Easy access for my class-B van and only 4 miles from 40. Super private. I did hear the train go by several times, but it wasn't a negative factor at all. I'll definitely be stopping by here again. I'd even plan on staying more than a night if time allows. I absolutely love Hipcamp!

Very beautiful and secluded. Was able to spend the day at the grand canyon and the night away from the crowds. Lots of stars at night. Only thing I would recommend is some signs to help find each spot.

Spark in the Dark was a peaceful refuge after a long day of driving. Clifford was a most accommodating host and accessible with any questions. The views were lovely from the campsites with plenty of room to roam the area. I would recommend for the weary traveler/camper who needs a quiet rest from the road!

Directions brought me right to the locked gate.
Code opened lock and fence. Pines surrounding the RV gave a cozy feeling that provided a solid sleep throughout the night. Next morning the clear skies allowed for maximum recharge using solar panels. Wonderful memories.

We had a great overnight camp here before going to the Grand Canyon for sunrise. After a 14+ hour long drive it was nice to be welcomed by Cliff when we arrived and get the rundown of the land. We were free to explore the land, there was a fun cornhole and horseshoe setup in the center of the camp as well as seating areas and fun "easter eggs" you can explore around the land. There was a good amount of trees which is pretty rare in the desert so you won't have to worry about shade. My dog was so happy to jump out of car and run around off leash when we arrived! We chose the Park & Snooze option since we had to leave before sunrise. The Park & Snooze option is closest to the porta-potty, the main gate to get into camp and across from the common area, as a result it's not very private. However, Cliff offered us a scenic camp spot which was more private as there were a few spots open and I regret not taking his offer! Overall, we enjoyed our time here and I recommend for those traveling through the area or want a fun camping experience with friends and dogs close to Ash Fork.

We spent a night with our RV, great experience, a safe and comfortable space easy to reach. I only remark the malfunction of the solar panel lights, bring some flashlights! Every now and then you hear the train passing nearby, if you have a light sleep I recommend earplugs. Maria was very kind and responsive, thank you!

Great private spot! It’s just as described and Maria had amazing communication. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveler. The site was easy to find in the dark and conveniently located to i40. It’s a fantastic spot for overnight travelers passing through that I would even like to stay longer next time I’m in the area. I would absolutely recommend!

I reserved a park and sleep spot but since I was the only one there Clifford told me I could choose any spot if I wanted. I chose #5 which had a great sunset view and would be a great site for a full group as it was very big and felt very separated from any other site. Host was great, very friendly, very quiet just coyotes howling in the distance and the very light white noise of the highway 3-4 miles away. Definitely recommended and will stay again.
