Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Westwood Ranch Stone Lake Campground and Seasonal Settlements is a remote rural dry lakebed that fills every 4–5 years after heavy winter snowfall. Peak season runs from March through October, when you can enjoy fresh air camping, explore dirt roads, and discover changing landscapes at every turn with your RV or off-road vehicles. You can also bring your own horse and enjoy riding throughout the property. This is truly a blank canvas for you to explore and enjoy. Come see elk roaming near the adjacent Big Boquillas Ranch, along with mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and javelina. Plan your trip ahead of time to make the most of your activities, and always be prepared for the unexpected, such as flat tires and changing conditions. We also offer leasing agreements for long-term settlers. Our goal is to build a community of people who believe and trust in God above all else. We hope to provide future utilities such as solar power, septic systems, and water and propane delivery for our longer-term residents. Eventually, we envision adding a small grocery store and church as well. Come enjoy Stone Lake and help us build something that will last.Seasonal Lake fills up every 4-5 years after heavy winter snow fall. Amazing Wildlife attractions for elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and javelina. Campground provides the perfect head quarters for travel with offroad vehicles on dirt roads and state land. Enjoy different scenic landscapes at every turn. Be mindful of others property and full time residents in the area.
