When my husband and I were dating in NY we confessed our mutual desire to get back "home" to the west. It made me fall in love with him even faster. So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home."
I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be.
So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.

11 Acres in rural Cochise County at the end of the road. We back up to the San Pedro Riparian Area, and the San Pedro River, offering hiking, birding, wildlife watching, and other recreational activities. The roads leading to the property from Hereford Road are dirt that are regularly maintained, but you may experience some washboard along the way depending on the season.
Cochise County is dark sky country. After viewing those amazing Arizona sunsets, cast your eyes on the night sky, and see stars and the Milky Way like you've never experienced before! Experience the abundant wildlife that comes through the property. Birds, Javelina, deer, listen to the coyotes howl. It simply is magical!
Bird watching: Experience hundreds of different species of birds in Cochise County (485 at last count). Lots of different hummingbirds (we're the hummingbird capital of the United States), hawks, sparrows, roadrunners, cactus wren, quail, and the list goes on. Be sure to hike down the San Pedro River, or to Ramsey Canyon to see even more!
Hiking: With an abundance of canyons in the area, there's hiking opportunities all around us! A short 10 minute drive lands you at the foot of the Huachuca Mountains with Ramsey Canyon, Miller Canyon, Carr Canyon, and many more! But above all, we have a private gate leading to the BLM land situated right next to the RV pad! Feel free to use it to go and explore, maybe even hike down to the river. Don't be surprised if you see people on horseback, as this is a very popular equestrian area.
There are tons of sightseeing opportunities around us, such as Bisbee (be sure to check out Old Bisbee, and the Bisbee Breakfast Club for some amazing food), Tombstone (OK Corral puts on a very entertaining show), Cartchner Caverns State Park, Coronado National Memorial. All within a short drive from here. If you'd like to visit Mexico, you can cross at Naco (about 15 minute drive) or at Douglas (about 45 minutes)
Lots of restaurants in Sierra Vista, but we recommend trying Mimosa Pizzeria, or La Sierra Steakhouse, both just a 10 minute drive down the road, along with Dollar General for your immediate needs.
The RV site offers full hookups, 30/50 Amp service. Your pets are welcome to roam around off leash, as long as they're people and dog friendly.

Shhhh…!!! Don’t tell anyone about this place!!! I’m going to gate keep Ash Creek because my family, my dogs and I enjoyed every minute of it!!!
The creek, the waterfalls, endless hiking, off roading and the 360 views… WOW!!! We will definitely be back to do more adventures at Ash Creek.
The only bad thing was I kept forgetting to take photos but the core memories…. We will never forget this place.

Loved Tent Camping here. Kind and Amazing Host. One of a kind experience. Felt very safe with 2 friendly amazing guard dogs. Host was very friendly and even had a breakfast with us, and helped a lot. We will recommend to anyone. And will be back again for sure. No bugs or mosquitoes as others complained, probably a seasonal thing.

We even got a visit from a fat furry visitor lol but Smokey was just there for our hotdog buns. Andrew and his family are excellent hosts and we can't wait to come back and try another spot!

What an awesome place! Yes you’re right next to the horses, but I actually quite enjoyed their presence. It felt very private and whenever work had to be done, everyone respected my privacy but was also willing to chat! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Tucson area, great access to Saguaro and Mt. Lemmon.

Everything about our stay on Barb's property was amazing. The views overlooking Tucson were breathtaking, the sunsets each night were to die for, the proximity to the west side (the best side) of Saguaro NP was amazing. We couldn't have had a better time around Tuscon or found a better place to stay.
Every detail on property has so much love and thought put into it. We will 1000% come back to Barb's place on our next stop through Tucson.
If you like nature, this is the place for you.

Such a fun, off-the-grid weekend. The 3-mile dirt road in is definitely bumpy, so plan your vehicle accordingly—but we made it just fine with a regular car and a small SUV by taking it slow.
The setting is a 10/10—stunning canyon views and total solitude (we had the whole place to ourselves, which felt pretty special). Andrew is a friendly, accommodating host who met us at the site and even took us on a tour of the canyon, sharing some of its mining history along the way.
One unique part of the area is the old chrysotile mine sites. We didn’t fully connect the dots until later (once we had cell service) that chrysotile is a form of asbestos historically used in construction and during WWII. It didn’t take away from the experience at all—just something interesting to be aware of. Peeking briefly into the old Victory mine was definitely a highlight.
Our campsite (#2) was great, with direct access to a trailhead that winds down a few switchbacks to the canyon floor. From there, it’s a beautiful hike along the creek to a small waterfall. Between the peaceful campsite, the incredible night sky, and the sense of adventure, it was a perfect weekend escape.

Canyons and old buildings were amazing and the waterfall was beautiful as well. Most of all the stars were Incredible. This is a great place to sit by a campfire and look at the stars. This location was suitable for my needs. However, if you are someone who wants a lot of privacy, this might not be a good fit since it’s an active working ranch. There will be people walking in close proximity to the tent area to tend to the horses there. For me, I wasn’t bothered by this but if privacy is of utmost importance to you, take note. Also, be aware that there are two friendly dogs on the property that may come up to you. I am comfortable around dogs, but if you have any fear around dogs, also take note. The area was quiet, peaceful, and clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. I felt safe and enjoyed all three nights that I stayed there. The location is very convenient for access to outdoor recreation spaces. There isn’t much in the way of shade in the camping area, so just plan accordingly if you will be visiting during hot months.

We loved camping here! Julie was so sweet and let us meet some of the animals. The bathroom was clean and the site was as described. The tent pad is next to some horse stalls, but our horse neighbors were very respectful while we were sleeping :)

Andy made our trip, you have raised a very polite and wise young man.
He answered all of our questions and provided a excellent tour of the property. He was very knowledgable about the canyon and history of the area and mines.
He checked on us a couple times and was a wealth of information!
We thoroughly enjoyed the waterfalls and creek hike.
The water was cool and a perfect way to spend the warmest part of the day!
There were tons of stars at night.
Great hospitality and atmosphere.
Pasture camp spot was plenty of room and great fire pit!
