Our location on US Hwy 89 on the east side of the highway is only a few miles from the breathtaking aspens of Lockett Meadow, the ruins of Wupatki National Monument and the lava flows at Sunset Crater. The park is a short drive to downtown Flagstaff, and on the way to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Moab and Durango. Stay the night or as long as you like! Drink in the hibiscus sunrises above the Painted Desert and relax into the long shadows of the San Francisco Peaks. The well stocked kitchen has all the cookware and utensils you'll need for cooking, a propane range, as well as a cooler for your use (bring ice). A gas barbecue is on site as well. The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

You could go fishing in Williams or have a snowball fight in Flagstaff. If you have never seen the Grand Canyon you are in for an ultimate life changing experience.
The dark night skies in this area may just keep you at camp. You can see every star out here and enjoy the escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With wide open spaces you have so much room to play.
The road to the property is about 0.8 miles and is considered dirt rugged. It will require you to so down under 5 miles an hour in a few places. You have the entire road to travel on and maneuver around the big bumps. I drive my car to the property ever time and don't have an issue if I slow down and go around large holes. If there is a recent storm in the area the road could be difficult to navigate.

Enjoy the Junipers and see the stars fall over the Cedars!
At 6000ft elevation the air is much cleaner and the weather is much cooler, especially in the summer time! We have plenty of space. A well house to fill up your water. There are also outdoor bathrooms, no shower yet, but working on that! We're just a short seven minute drive to the dump station at a local gas station down the road on the Deuce of Clubs and Penrod. We are 14 minutes from a large hospital, 10 minutes from major grocery stores, shopping and restaurants, and many other fun activities. Our location is in a perfect spot to enjoy the blue sky and great weather. Sunrise Ski area is a quick drive too! Pinetop Lakeside are within 10 minutes, Taylor and Snowflake are within 15 to 25 minutes. We hope you visit and continue to keep our environment clean and a chill spot to visit. We are home to a family-friendly honky-tonk, and microbrewery, now open. Please check our Instagram or Facebook @the4sbarn and @greatskycampranch_showlowaz for updates. Seasonal business may change our days/hours of operation.

When my husband and I were dating in NY we confessed our mutual desire to get back "home" to the west. It made me fall in love with him even faster. So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home."
I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be.
So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.

There are two sites with fire pits and campfires are allowed but may be restricted during certain times when warm temperatures and high winds are forecasted. Please bring a shovel to clear the fire pit out if there is sand or leftover wood in it.
Other things to note:
From Highway 64, travel 0.85 miles east on Pine Rd to reach the property. The dirt road has some bumps but is accessible with a 2WD car when the road is dry but 4WD is recommended when there is snow or rain.
Also, since you will be traveling on an unmarked dirt road, it is advised to reach the campsite before dark so it easier to locate.
There are no toilets or water so campers will need to bring their own accommodations. Pack in and pack out policy applies.
Please check if there are any fire restrictions at the time of your visit and always adhere to state and local fire restrictions.

Imagine pulling through the gate into Ranchito Paraiso - a desert paradise, seemingly remote, but just minutes from the town of Benson. First, you will feel calm and peaceful.
To the left, you will see an abundance of giant Mesquite trees and Kassandra - a lovingly renovated spacious RV nicknamed the Micro Mansion. Farther along, is the rustic elegance of Kasita Morada, the purple house. On your right, you will see the corrals for our sweet donkeys, Miss Fiona, Haiku, and Isla Preciosa, hanging out with their sidekick goats, Harley and Quinn.
We live in a ranching community, so neighbors are few (there is a KOA across the north side of our unpaved road). You will love the stars and the moon and the quiet here at the Ranchito. It is a wonderful getaway surrounded by mountain views. The sunsets are magical and sunrises provide beauty and hope. The Ranchito is an artsy retreat with quirky yet elegant accommodations and a wonderful space to breathe, create, write, binge on Netflix, or just take a break to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine and bird watch. The donkeys and goats love our guests, and will patiently stand by for a brush, a cuddle, and a compliment while you sip your favorite beverage.
You will be within 15 minutes to Kartchner caverns. Tombstone is 20 mins, whereas Bisbee, AZ vineyards and Tucson are about 40 mins away. The Ranchito is 3/4 mile north of I-10 and one mile from the Amtrak line that runs between LA and Texas. San Pedro golf course is a few hundred yards away, with delicious food and a dog-friendly patio.
Even though the grocery store is two miles away, you will feel remote. Elegant glamping is available in a lovingly renovated RV named Kassandra and a custom DIY tiny home (Kasita Morada). Guests find both units quite stunning and well-equipped.

We stopped here mostly for a dark night sky they mention on their website. That was ruined by a toy hauler with its bright LED's that were left on all night. Electrical connections are too far forward in the site. Our site, 8, was not level front to back because of that and because we had to pull so far forward. We may try this place again as we travel through almost every year.

Shelley was easy to contact and the site was wonderful. We watched the full moon rise as the sun set. Loved site 8. They have some cute looking tiny homes. I would come back with family and everyone could be comfortable, but still feel remote and outdoors. Windy region later at night, so pack away awnings and what not before snoozing.

Before we turned in we could hear owls and deer. We woke up this morning to a beautiful setting! Wish we could have stayed longer!

As soon as we arrived we were greeted and given the opportunity to upgrade our booking to a spot with hookups. We were so grateful because we had just left a campsite that was supposed to be full hookups yet was not. We really needed to catch up on laundry and showers. When it was time to leave we had some major battery issues and the owners were quick to come and help us with a jump. It was such a breath of fresh air to have such great hosts and a peaceful campground. THANK YOU!!!!

We really enjoyed staying here. We did a last-minute trip and couldn’t find a traditional park with space over Labor Day. Found this spot on Hipcamp. We had site 1 with full hookup. So cool having a craft brewery with live music Saturday only steps from our site! only a few campers so it was really chill. I hope they are able to keep building out sites because was really a fun spot!!

this is an absolutely beautiful and rustic cabin set among pines and aspens! The national Forest is your backyard!
If you want to get away and disconnect, this is the perfect place. The spacious front porch was where we spent most of our time, reading books and talking. Having morning coffee on the front porch as I watched the birds and felt the breezes coming through the Aspen was heavenly.. This is a very small community and it’s all off grid which appealed to us.. We love to hike and it was a 20 minute walk to the Arizona trail head. We hiked for two hours and did not see one person. The neighbors in this small community are friendly and helpful. All of the lots are about 2.5 acres.. the speed limit is 10 mph and there were no cars or ATVs racing up and down the hardened dirt road. In my mind, it is a little piece of heaven. Stargazing is wonderful. We did not mind using a hand pump at the kitchen sink. This is a vintage experience for those who want to get away from civilization. The owner is very responsive to text when we had questions. If you are looking for a peaceful Retreat, this is the place.
