Due to the poor access road, the last part of which was not passable for normal cars but only for off-road vehicles, we couldn't reach the campground at all. The owner was unreachable by phone, only providing a voicemail. In the end, we returned to the regular road and asked the owner for a refund of the paid amount for the overnight stay. Unfortunately, without result. We consider this behavior unfair and the access to the campground poor, so we would not recommend it.

Michael was a very welcoming host. He wandered over to our campsite with a lovely cold cherry drinks and we sat and had a nice chat over breakfast.
First impressions were that we were unsure we'd not got the correct location. Michael has a number of 'projects' on the go and is fixing up various vehicles/RV's on the property which gives the place an unusual initial feel. Once we met Michael our minds were put at ease and we enjoyed our brief stay,

Tent camping with pup!
Michael’s land was beautiful! Did tent camping, had a little camp fire (provided by Michael), star gazed, and hiked. We brought our pup and he loved having full range of everything. Michael was super helpful and nice so I’d recommend this spot! Would definitely come back again.

Exceptional stargazing!
Drove from TX to OR looking for dark skies to test my new telescope. Did a last minute booking, and had good communication with Michael during the drive to his property. Camped at two other places, and this spot had the perfect conditions that night. (No clouds, and a gentle breeze.)
This place is about 2-3 miles south of I40. Did not hear any traffic until 5-6AM due to the colder morning air. Even then it was not obtrusive, and quickly went away as the air warmed up.

Michael met us with a warm welcome. As described there are minimal amenities but what we enjoyed was being out in the middle of nowhere and the amazing night sky.

Michael was super nice and very accommodating. We got pretty lost trying to find the place and he stayed on the phone with us at 9 o’clock while we found it. His dog is also super cute and hung out with us while we pitched our tent.

We took off half a point because this place is incredibly hard to find, and the roads are Very rough. However we arrived at night, in the dark - DO NOT DO THIS.
Follow Micheal’s instructions with some additional tips:
- Wagon/Wooden Wheel Road has a different name on Google Maps (Micheal says to use Apple maps)
- There are no road signs to tell you where to turn, Wagon Wheel Rd has a wooden Rancho Garcia sign where you need to turn left
- Fence stays on your right until the FIRST time it stops. If you look ahead and the fence starts again, that’s somebody else’s driveway and you’ve gone too far
- If the road splits always keep right
- Where the fence ends is hidden by a tree. When you drive a little further past the tree and look back you will see a corner fence post behind the tree
- Turn right there, this IS Micheals driveway, the fence should still be on your right and it should turn with you
- After driving on the driveway for a short while it will veer to the left and you will see the fire trucks up ahead
- If you see a No Trespassing sign where you think the driveway is, you have gone too far
- If you have gone to far, turn around and drive slowly until you see a corner fence post behind a tree to your left

The owner, Michael, is just a wonderful soul. Should be more folks like him in the world. If any solo ladies are considering this place, it is very safe. He was very accommodating and just a great all-around guy. The road is not paved so like all country roads it has some spots but totally doable. I brought in a 35ft fifth wheel and made it just fine. It's not 4x4, but as with this whole region, you want to be mindful of prolonged downpours.. Just a tip for those bringing in large trailers, instead of turning right onto Arizona across the cement bridge, about an 1/8th of a mile down on the right there is a larger opening you can use instead, then just head back to Arizona road. Follow Michael's written directions EXACTLY. My online map was soooo wrong. Will definitely be back.

Overall, a nice, secluded place. Michael was very friendly as was his dog Floo. Only downside was the 2 mile dirt road to access the property...had previously rained and it left the road rough and rocky.

Highly recommend this campsite. The location is a couple miles off the interstate; you can see the traffic but rarely hear it. The terrain is perfect for camping and the best part was Michael’s dog who loves to keep an eye on the property as he runs wild. The dog is extremely friendly, our dog which we brought really enjoyed his presence and it was tough to leave him behind.
We had plenty of fire wood piled together (by Michael) to use in the provided fire pit which was really nice.
As mentioned, the road is fairly rough but is manageable as long as you take it slow (if you car is not 4x4/or not mean’t for off-roading)
Michael is an exceptional host. He made sure we had what we needed to have a great trip. Michael even ate a few meals with us and chatted for a while.
Again, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable private camp site.

All I needed
Michael was very kind to come find me, as the directions on the site need to be updated.
I booked an hour before coming so he was not aware that he was expecting a guest, but it all worked out snd I was happy to have a place to sleep. I drive a Prius which is very low and I made the fort road fine, slow but I made it :)

An Extraordinary Spot
Antelope Run is an extraordinary spot. Not far from the I40 but very much wild and pristine land.. Prairie Dogs, Antelope and junipers are everywhere. So are the starts at night.
Michael is also lovely. A gem. He checked in a couple times with me at my campsite and offered me water and the use of his composting toilet.
Highest possible recommendation.

Antelope Run is beautiful and very secluded with great views of the stars at night. Michael was wonderful, welcoming and kind. Just note, the road to get in is a bit bumpy..but overall we had a lovely stay and were grateful to meet Michael.

My partner and I were really looking forward to staying here. Unfortunately, upon our arrival, the host had not responded after we had reached out due to confusion as to where the entrance to the property was. We had actually not heard from him until two days later. We had come all the way from New York and were excited to see what this property and the area had to offer. We ended up staying in Sedona instead. Will maybe try staying here again if we’re in the area because it does look very beautiful.

Perfect Grand Canyon rest stop
Michael was a fantastic host. We had a great time getting to know him. He kindly gave us directions when we were having trouble finding the camp site. We learned that he’s a homeopathic doctor and he even gave my boyfriend some medicine for his stomach problems. The campsite was pretty private and we felt safe. My pup loved exploring the site. There’s cute little bunnies running around. It was a great place to rest before we headed out to the Grand Canyon in the morning. We hope to come back soon. Thank you Michael!

Remote Arizona Oasis
This was our first time using the site and it was amazing! Michael is an incredible human being and his place was fantastic. We felt alone on the Antelope property and it was 20 degrees cooler than Las Vegas. Definitely follow the directions on the site page as apposed to using google or Apple Maps. This place was way beyond our expectations and it rejuvenated us. Five stars!!!

The host Michael was super nice and helpful. The site is very secluded, and has interesting recent. history. A lot of fire trucks spread around - fun for the kids. A bit rough to get there during winter months, but possible.

We pulled in after dark and were met by Michael who was very welcoming and showed us to our campsite. The campsite itself is primitive but has a firepit with firewood provided. There is a composting toilet a short walk away. The property itself has an interesting story - it's a registered monastery and intentional living community - Michael and 1 or 2 others live there full time in their RVs and there are a bunch of other RVs and vehicles being restored on the property that you will see when you drive in. Michael is also trying to get permits to run a fire department out there - so you will see a few firetrucks on your drive in. It's best to get here before dark to find your way on the roads and to locate the campsite once you're there. This is a nice place to stop if you're passing through on your way to the Grand Canyon and need a place to pitch your tent for the night.

This is a very remote campsite located on the host, Michaels, property. Micheal lives on the property full time. Michael is very friendly and helpful. The night we were there we were the only people camping there. The property location is pretty remote and thus there was a beautiful sunset and nice stars. It says that there’s water at the campsite and a shower but we did not use either of those. The water came from buckets filled and town and it seemed as though the shower was shared with the host. All around would stay here again but is definitely more of a “roughing it” experience!

Very peaceful.
Micheal was very responsive and met us upon our arrival and showed us around. This is a beautiful property with a community feel even if traveling alone. Stars and sunrise were beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. The “music” in the meditation room was lovely.

Antelope Run Rewilding Camp is an intentional community. Camping there is very quiet and peaceful and people are lovely. The camp is powered by solar panels and has dry toilets. We were able to stay in one of the campers and shelter from the rain, before setting up our tent. Highly recommend.

Perfectly dark, perfectly quite, yet just off the 40. You can see all the stars and find freedom and solitude here. The pups, a cat named Fred and the chickens were an added perk. Laura was very accommodating and available! Thank you Laura!

Hipcamp heaven! This community of wilderness dwellers is a thriving FAMILY! We were welcomed onto the property (that feels like you are driving through gravel for a while, but when you get there it is well worth it.) by the community who lives there 24/7! This community of friends and family have been beginning to build a fully sustaining outdoor community and when we visited, there was even a Hipcamper there who had visited for a few nights but ended up staying with them much longer. It is even set upon a slight hill and gives great views of surrounding mountains. There is also private spaces to camp if you don't want to interact with the wonderful people there.
