    Harry was the perfect host! He met us at the site entrance when we arrived and showed us to our pitch. The pitches are huge with plenty of space around them which makes the site feel private and quiet. It is in a beautiful location with two lovely villages within walking distance and lots of other attractions a short drive away. The toilets and washing facilities are basic and clean. We loved the minimal impact on the environment. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return.

    A great site close to Chee Dale/Monsal Trail, had a great bank holiday weekend here, the only let down being the weather (typical). Would definitely recommend and come back again in the future! Toilets were very clean and maintained regularly. Thanks for a great stay!

    Lovely little campsite with great views. A little busier than we expected but it was bank holiday. Lots of walks directly from the campsite and some nice local pubs not too far away. Field was well maintained, facilities were generally clean and campsite owners were friendly.

    we loved camping here, the place is quiet and there is everything you need. Toilets were clean, there is a small shop where you can buy snacks. You can charge your phone for a small fee, and Linda is very helpful is sharing information and suggestions on things to do in the area. We had a great time and the children loved playing football in the field and building a den in the forest.

    Lovely vibe, was able to turn up and just pick a spot without any registration which made things a lot easier. The site had a mix of families, teenagers, young adults etc. which was quite refreshing. They say noise down by 10 but was nice that you didn’t have to actually be silent. Louise was really nice and helped with a fire pit,.

    What a beautiful campsite! Absolutely loved the meadow vibe and views across to the Cathedral. The site staff are friendly and welcoming. Loved the on site shop and pizza oven. The washing facilities are excellent. From a practical perspective, the pitch was flat and plentiful. Great to have a place to have a fire. It’s the fens so it’s flat and exposed so clever pitching to avoid winds are recommended. Can’t wait to come back.

    What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.

    A small family run site in Weston-on-the Green village located with a local pub 5 minutes walk away and on site cafe. The site also has newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities. Amazing location to access Oxford city and easy access to M40 (Junction 9). Good things await for those who grab a berth at Weston Caravan and Campsite, in the Oxfordshire village of Weston-on-the-Green. For starters, space seekers should be pleased to see that there’s plenty of breathing room around this former dairy farm – excellent news for kids or dogs that need a bit of haring-about time after being cooped up in the car. Depending on where you’ve plonked down you may find that your nearest neighbours are the resident beef cattle, sheep or horses; it’s worth keeping your eyes open for sightings of the hedgehogs that often scuttle about the place too. Perhaps most crucially for those whose stomachs dictate a site’s success is the presence of a café that serves up a tempting range of freshly cooked goodies: breakfasts (no rush – they’re served all day), salads, cakes and coffees, plus cheeses, pies and the like to take away. And the crème de la crème – literally: homemade ice cream in up to 16 (yes, a lipsmacking 16) different flavours. Evening appetites can be sated with a barbecue out on the field, or trotting off to the local pub five minutes’ walk away. The site added a new toilet and shower block in 2018. The village is just a few minutes’ drive from the A34 and Junction 9 of the M40, making it both a useful stopover on cross-country voyages and a handy spot for Oxfordshire breaks (perhaps taking in Oxford, Blenheim Palace or bagging bargains in Bicester).
