Grass Pitch (Caravan/Motorhome)
Nice site. No loo roll and issues with hook up but that was resolved quickly. Good spot and clean facilities

Grass Pitch (Caravan/Motorhome)
Happy, peaceful and fun camp site
Great camp site with clean showers and toilet blocks, well stocked, never too busy kitchens. Water taps dotted all around. Handy little shop and a bar (after long hilly bike rides). Mobile fish and chip van was a surprise extra on the Sat eve. Would definitely stay again.

Team who go above and beyond
What a fantastic site, the team couldn't have been more helpful and even offered us a complimentary electric hook up.
Only downside for us was that we visited on a Sunday after a particularly busy weekend and the bins were overflowing which made the trip to the toilet block very unpleasant so perhaps extra bins are needed in peak season.
Other than that the site is brilliant, so much for the kids to do and although we didn't use it the shop and cafe looked great.
We will definitely be back, highly recommend

Ok, but wouldn’t revisit
The site had real potential but the cleanliness let it down. The bins were overflowing, there was no soap in the toilet block. Both the toilets and shower blocks were really dated. The water points were located behind peoples pitches making them hard to access. Also the pitches are on quite a slope.
It wasn’t a bad site but not one we would revisit.

Nice but could be better
Nice location. Unfortunately I think some of the facilities are way out of date and inadequate. Also, the pitches are quite close together and I gather the site was overbooked when we stayed.
I think it’s a shame, although the site is clearly popular, I think the experience could be made better by an update to some of the toilet/shower blocks then it would be better value for money.

Lovely site- would recommend to all. Visited during the heatwave and site was very flexible with pitches allowing everyone to prioritise shade.

Good campsite
The field we were in was large and not overcrowded. A mixture of tents and campervans, which was fine. There was plenty of room around all pitches.

Lovely campsite. Owners were really friendly and helpful. They had electric car chargers on site which was very useful. Camping field was big with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The playground was great too. Would be good to have a few more washing up facilities.

Paddock Stable Barn
Camping without hassle
Great management staff always helpful. The “Stable Barn” was clean and dry. A kettle and two mugs were provided with a spare socket for other stuff. The bed could do with a topper mattress as the springs are not great.

I have camped at this site twice and would return again.
The site has good clean facilities (shower / toilet blocks / kitchen area) and the managers were very friendly and welcoming.
There are a lot of walking routes accessible directly from the campsite, which is a big positive for me.

Been here before, this was our second visit. The staff are very friendly and couldn't help us enough when our tent leaked. The field we were in is very green and has great facilities in it. Nice surrounding area, I would recommend this site

Grass Pitch (Tent Only)
We had a great stay here during the short heatwave in early September and I must say this site is an ideal place from which to explore this part of the Cotswolds. Also, from here, it’s only a few minutes drive to the car park at Charlbury Station (plenty of spaces) where you can catch a day return to Oxford for a great day out. The site itself is beautiful and, with a bit more care and attention to detail, could be sensational.
For example, our field had a covered dishwashing area which also boasted two fridges and a washing machine. A great idea, but unfortunately both fridges were filthy and there was a sign (which had clearly been there a while) above the sink saying “Sorry, no hot water”. We had to boil a kettle to wash our pots. Not good enough, really. The problem seems to be that there is no-one on site full-time. Turning up once a day to stock the shop and mop the loos is not going to cut it. A site as beautiful as this, and in such a brilliant location - it must surely be worth employing someone full-time to look after the place properly. Nevertheless, we had a great time, so thank you.

If you’re looking for a campsite to meet up with a group of friends, drink around a fire pit and aren’t bothered by a bit of music or the quality of facilities it’s fine-it’s just that’s not for us and doesn’t feel like it meets the standard of other Cool Camping sites we’ve stayed on.
Stayed a few years ago and the small campsite we thought we were revisiting is now a lot larger, the field behind now camping, significantly increasing the number of pitches, it felt as if there were insufficient toilets/showers/washing up sinks for the number of people staying but the shower was at least hot after you’d waited for one to become available.
No mention that pitches will be allocated to you when you book or on T&Cs so we arrived early to find a quietish corner (my children are neurodiverse, so we book small, quiet sites that have no amplified music, which is what we had experienced when we previously camped here), only to find out once the tent was up we would have to relocate to a pitch right next to the children’s wood playground. For most families I’m sure this would have been ideal; being able to send the children into the wood next to the tent to play, but that doesn’t work for our family. The manager was brilliant and found us a corner pitch in the large field and even offered us credit to return at a less busy time if it was still too loud.
There was plenty of amplified music being played around us despite it not being allowed, but this stopped around 10pm (grateful we weren’t next to the gypsy caravan who’s occupants played it intermittently throughout the night). Lots of group bookings that were not just confined to the “group field” as advertised.
Overall the site is a good location to explore the Cotswolds, with plenty of nearby footpaths for dog walking and space for children to play and make friends. The pitches are flat with space for your car nearby.
Thanks again for finding us pitch 64, much appreciated!
