Penn Meadow Farm is a beautiful 145 acre, family farm, nestled perfectly into the Chiltern Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. We’re just a 5 minute walk across our grassy fields to the oldest free-house pub in England (The Royal Standard of England) Say hello to our resident alpacas, sheep, pigs, pigmy goats, flock of 250 sheep and of course our lovely boarder collies. We aim to be a very relaxed spot to be able to rest for a few nights and maybe enjoying a nice camp fire in the evening. The site includes; Showers and Toilet block with toilet paper stocked. Open family pitches for you to choose where you want to set up Running drinking water Shared open kitchen Fires allowed BBQ's allowed To ensure everyone’s enjoyment and safety, please follow these rules: Supervise children: Always supervise your children and ensure they do not wander off alone. Clean up after yourself: Dispose of all waste properly in the designated bins and leave no trace behind. Wash any items you use and return them to where you found them. Respect other campers: Be courteous to fellow campers and respect their privacy and space. Pets: If you bring pets, ensure they are well-behaved, kept on a leash or have impeccable recall, and cleaned up after. Do not allow your pet to enter another camper's space. Quiet time: Maintain quiet hours between 11pm and 7am. All music must stop by 10pm, and noise should be minimal after 11pm. Campfires: Penn Meadow Farm allows fires; please use existing scorched areas if possible rather than creating new ones. Never leave any fires unattended and ensure they are completely extinguished when finished. Wipe your feet prior to entering the Bell tents to remove any coal that may have become attached. Cars/vehicles: Cars and vehicles can be on the field but should move minimally and always under 5mph. Car stereos should not be used for music entertainment. Drugs and Alcohol: Drug use is prohibited, and violators will be asked to leave. Consume alcohol responsibly, and do not drive or move your vehicle after consuming alcohol. We do not typically book Large non-family groups unless they are seeking a calm and peaceful stay. Amazing views over the hills with red kites, gorgeous horses in the next door field and really friendly sheep dogs. Gorgeous shower block which make you feel like you’re in a boutique hotel! 200m walk to fantastic pub with great food and fires. Can’t wait to go back

We recently stayed at this campsite and unfortunately had a poor experience. The location is lovely, with great views and plenty of space for kids to run around. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and well-kept, and it was good to see staff around during the day and night. It’s also a short walk to a local pub. However, there were a few serious issues. The field is on a slope and there are no demarcated pitches, so everyone condenses onto the small flat area which means you are very close to all other tents and campers. The biggest problem, though, was the two “farm dogs” roaming the site. These dogs barked at, harassed and chased other dogs and toddlers/children, stole food from tents and gazebos, and tore open bin bags. Several families (ours included) complained multiple times over two days which eventually got the staff to take action on both days. While the dogs were briefly taken in by the owners each time, they were let out again within hours and continued to harass campers. The site also only has three bathrooms with toilets and showers combined, which meant long waits in the mornings if people shower. In short, while the location and facilities has promise, the lack of control over the dogs and the density of campers made it hard to fully enjoy the stay. I will likely not be back

It was so busy and I'd say probably too many cars which somewhat ruined the views. Lovely facilities though

The facilities are excellent, the on site gas stove is something more campsites should have! Excellent showers and loos. The only slightly negative is the presence of farm dogs who seemingly have free rein over the site. Those who dislike being “investigated” by dogs may want to bear this in mind. Also be aware of the odd dog poo on the ground.

My partner and I went camping here for 2 nights (Fri-sun) with our 3 dogs (2 off leash). The staff are soo amazing and attentive! There’s so much space and all of the other campers we met were soo kind and respectful. The kitchen is well maintained. The shower/toilet was clean and I had hot water for my shower. It was so amazing to just have a peaceful weekend away from the world. Before we even left we started planning our next trip back! 10/10 experience

Lovely, open and free-feeling camp space. Beautiful green hills and woodland surrounding it. Handy little kitchen area and wooden shelter plus beautifully tiled toilets / showers. Very lovely walk to the local pub and woods to explore with kids.

Lovely little spot that my 5 year old son loved immediately, friendly staff. Even the other campers were exemplary. Extra points for the farm dogs.

Great site for a first time camping family (3 children and a dog), good onsite facilities, helpful staff and a site that wasn't too large that it was difficult to navigate or get around. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Great campsite, pitch where you like. Got 3 showers with toilets etc which are really nice and hot. Great pub 5 mins walk away aswell. We will be back!! Thank you

What a jolly campsite. We loved it. Super Host- very welcoming. Really happy place. Coffee and pizza truck for the weekend. We loved exploring the woods, the goats, the dogs etc. also really perfect to have earthen fire pits dotted around. We really enjoyed that into the evening.

Brilliant spot just outside of London. Nice and relaxed, pitch wherever you life, and great for kids with animals and woods to explore. The local pub is worth a visit.

It’s very nice camping site with very good facilities. It was lovely to see farm animals and walk to the pub between them. Only negative thing was cars. There were many cars in the camp area. This made the beautiful view a bit less beautiful.

We had a great weekend on the campsite, beautiful setting, lots of space to pitch your tent and have a camp fire. Great pub just down the road, only negative was the toilet/ shower block was sometimes quite busy but other than that I’d highly recommend and will be returning again in a few weeks!

Great campsite, well managed, with friendly farm dogs, sheep and goats living on-site who will come to say hello! I had a lovely morning playing fetch with the dogs, Bob is especially friendly - there's spots to have campsite fires, and there's a kitchen with fridge, kettle and gas hob which you can use - shower was warm all night, toilets are porcelain flush toilets a rare treat on a campsite, could have all been a little cleaner but this is a campsite not the Garrick on Mayfair! The majority of the site is on a slope, so you'll need blocks to level your caravan and if you're camping in a tent you'll just need to be mindful which direction you pitch your tent - it's a short walk from the site (15 minutes, through lovely wooded trails) to supposedly the oldest public house in Britain 'The Royal Standard of England', I didn't eat there but the beer was excellent. Access to the site is via a steep gravel road and there isn't any trackway down so again be mindful driving onto site. I paid £25 for tent camping for 1 adult so on the expensive end of camping but I felt like I had my money's worth and would love to camp here again in future - well done Penn Meadow Farm Camping

I had a lovely two day stay here. Was camping for some chill time and the countryside and views here are fabulous. There are two fields, one much bigger than the other. It was busy so I couldn’t find a space in the big field that was quiet and flat - a huge part of the field is on a slope and I don’t sleep well when rolling about! I went to the smaller field which was lovely and pitched up in the corner by the horses and with a view over the valley - lovely. One group of families who decided playing music at nightclub volume was a nice way to enjoy the beauty of the nature and peace here, but each to their own I guess. The noise was never loud late so well within the rules. The showers are lovely. Great to have a fire. I picked up an 8 mile Alltrails hiking trail from the campsite which was handy too. I would return. Lovely site which is managed with care.

We loved the site, and my son adored playing with the resident sheep dogs (who were impeccably behaved) the showers were lovely although more sinks would be useful to prevent queues for the loos with showers and basins when the camp site is busy. Free tea and coffee was a great touch and plenty of space! My son was enthralled by the owners motorbikes and they very kindly let him sit on them. They made his weekend! The only down side was the free roaming dog of another camper who wasn't paying attention to where their dog was and he stole food from the kids and wasn't being cleaned up after. I realise this is not the site owners fault but did impact on our enjoyment as we couldn't work out who the dog's owner was to speak to them.

The campsite was fab! We were greated by two of the farm dogs that came with a ball in their mouth and the kids (3, 8 and 11 year olds) loved playing with them. They loved exploring the surroundings, discovering the goats, sheep, pigs and alpacas, it was great to have the woods for a walk too! they also loved the pile of hay bales to climb on! The facilities were great, showers were good and had good pressure, although there will be a queue if you camp on a bank holiday! Toilets were good and clean too and the little kitchen was a bonus! We had our own kitchen but it was great to be able to boil some water to add to the dishes before washing up and if ours had failed like it did once in the past we would still had been able to cook. I liked that there was rubish and recycling disposal too. All in all we had a great time and will definitely consider going back and recommend it to friends and family (only reason I wouldn't is because I want to explore so many other places and I might not have time to go back! haha) Thank you x

We had a lovely time at the site however with only 3 showers and 7 toilets for the whole 2 fields over the bank holiday was not enough. Hot water available washing up and a few separate drinking water taps around would also be helpful. ( currently just the washing up tap is used for drinking water.) Friendly staff, respectful noise curfew. Great addition with the coffee van, different food outlets and kitchenette for all to use. It can get very windy when camping on the top of the hill!

Beautiful Site - Upgrades needed

+ Beautiful views and large site. + Nice to see the animals on the farm. + Good price. - It is a large site so 3 toilet/shower rooms and 2 portaloos is not really adequate if busy. The site wasn't full but it was a beautiful May weekend and there were a lot there. Add to this a large DofE group on each night of roughly 50-60 kids and instructors and there was regularly a large queue for the showers. Understandably they were quickly in a not very good state due to the design and running out of toilet paper. They also went cold or lost water pressure if two or more were in use at the same time. This returned as soon as only one was on. - There is a washing up area but there is no hot water (there is a kettle). Unfortunately, this was also not clean with old food debris all over the draining board. The site has a lot of potential and I know they are looking to move to a firepit rental scheme. I don't know if they plan to expand facilities but I think this is needed for peak seasons certainly.

Lovely campsite with great views. Plenty of space - over the BH weekend it was quite busy, with a whole range of different groups etc, everyone very friendly. my kids loved the resident sheepdogs, and the pigs. The toilet/shower block is very nicely done and kept as clean as possible, recognising it was very busy when we went. We'd definitely go back.
