Penn Meadow Farm is a beautiful 145 acre, family owned farm, nestled perfectly into the chiltern hills area of outstanding natural beauty. We’re just a 5 minute walk across our grassy fields to the oldest free-house pub in England (The Royal Standard of England) Say hello to our resident alpacas, sheep, pigs, pigmy goats, flock of 250 sheep and of course our lovely boarder collies. We aim to be a very relaxed spot to be able to rest for a few nights and maybe enjoying a nice camp fire in the evening.A very relaxed spot to pitch up a tent for a night or maybe. Our aim is to create a really laid back camping experience while being surrounded by the gorgeous chiltern hills area of outstanding natural beauty. We highly recommend The Royal Standard of England (Britains oldest free-house) which is just a 5 minute walk across our grassy fields.

Camping pitch, Penn Meadow Farm
Lovely back to basics site that has everything you need, toilets/showers kept clean with a handy kitchen area provided including a kettle. Alpacas were a lovely addition and millie the collie was very friendly and made friends with my son. Only downside is the field isn't particularly flat so need to pick your spot but not a problem as was fairly quiet while we stayed.

We loved camping here, everyone was so helpful and friendly. It was fun to watch the festival being set up and next time will stay to take part. Loved the walk to the pub, it's a really cool one and the pub was great fun.

Overnight stay
Used as a stopover on the way to Eurotunnel. Easy to find just off the motorway. Entrance road is very bumpy as stated on website but also steep especially at the entrance. We have a camper van and struggled to get up. Facilities bare minimum for the amount of campers. Self contained shower rooms/ toilets good but portaloos poor. Lots of outdoor space for children to run around in. Camping field also hilly so difficult to find flat space. All said still value for money and would consider using again

This is a very picturesque spot but there are some key fundamentals that need to be improved. There are 3 new toilets and showers which look lovely but it is entirely impractical on a campsite to have the showers and toilets together. Portaloos were provided but why would you use them when the alternative is so much nicer. The locks were stiff and led to several open door moments, not great for my 13yo daughter. The showers themselves were near useless as the pressure dropped when another toilet was flushed. Speaking to the owner this was due to them being unexpectedly popular and needing to install a 2nd water tank. Understood but some communication around this would have been appreciated. There was only 1 working drinking water tap and washing up sink on site which again for the size of the site is just impractical. A second tap wasn't labelled as drinking water (which the other was) which meant no one trusted it (and it was also just a dribble when I tried it). A lot of stinging nettles made for an uncomfortable pitching experience and limited the kids playing. Finally the uphill, poorly maintained track to enter the site was tricky, granted in an old estate car, but I was very glad it was at least dry as I can only imagine the issues in wet weather! Overall with some improvements this could be a really good campsite but we won't be returning.
