We offer some of the most beautiful scenery in western Washington. Here you will find the peaceful quiet of being "away from it all", yet in reality you are only a little over a mile from the local grocery store, restaurants, and gas stations along Hwy 12 in Randle.
We have 20 spacious sites on 70 acres, bordered by the Cowlitz River in Randle, WA. We are centrally located between Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams. Since we are not open for public entry, you can feel safe leaving your camp set up while you take day excursions.
We have dry camping ONLY. There is a spigot for water at the gate, but no water or electricity hookups at any of the sites.
We welcome individual campers as well as groups. Many of our sites will hold 20-30 people, all in one site area. We can also accommodate much larger groups.... Let us know if you have a special group event. We can discuss your needs and see if our property is a fit for you. This property is located within a gated cabin community called Cascade River Park Club. Your camping lot is located in a beautiful wooded lot surrounded by trees and vegetation, and a creek that wraps around the property. It includes a large fire pit, 8 Adirondack chairs, a bench overlooking the creek, and a picnic table. During a burn ban, we provide a propane fire bowl as well as a propane tank that is available for use but not kept full by us. You can have it filled at Chom's gas station that is 10 minutes from camp. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE NATURAL SURROUNDINGS SUCH AS BOULDERS AND LOGS. This is Packwood at its finest! This exclusive RV parking spot is situated on an acre property! This property is nature’s “gem” for those who love the outdoors & wish to be part of what nature has to offer. Wake up to the peaceful sounds of Butter Creek while enjoying your morning coffee.
This RV spot is equipped with a 20, 30 and 50 amp receptacle, with full access to water and septic. The daily rate is for full hookup for your trailer or RV; charging your electric vehicle is prohibited. You can find two EV charging stations in town at the 76 Gas Station.
You will also have access to free wi-fi. As there are NO bathroom facilities on the property, NO TENT camping is allowed.
We have hidden some fun painted rocks for your kids to find, but please be courteous and leave some behind for other kids as well! Rocks and any decor that are in the garden area are not for taking.
This RV spot is located just minutes from town, where you can enjoy unique restaurants, breweries, and shopping. There are numerous year-round recreational activities including hiking, boating, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, and fishing. This location is just 30 minutes from White Pass Ski Area and 25 minutes from the Stevens Canyon Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Butter Creek. Shelly and her husband met us upon arrival and provided all the information we needed to get settled. The setting was wonderful: next to the Creek that we could see and hear, surrounded by trees, and a fire pit to enjoy a fire at the end of the day.

We loved the trailer site right beside the Butter Creek. The sound of babbling creek was incredibly soothing. Shelly came out to meet us and get us situated, Joe was there when we had a question. We left daily to go to the national park and felt secure in leaving everything. Shelly provided great laundry facilities on the last day and we took chairs and lunch down to the creek. It is full sun but with full hookup we were not uncomfortable. Wonderful hosts and location!

We were a group of 3 families celebrating a birthday, and we had a fantastic time. The camp spot has gorgeous views, privacy and great river access. The porta potty was very clean, no unpleasant smells with hand sanitizer and TP. We enjoyed waking on the property, spotted 2 foxes and many cool birds, and floated on the river a couple of times. It is really dusty, but it's worth it anyway. We are already making plans to come back, great spot!

We loved Butter Creek Retreat! Joe was super friendly and welcoming. The site is right in the creek with easy access to the water via nice steps. There’s a nice mossy trail to walk through the woods right next to the site. Full hookups are super & worked without a hitch. We’ll definitely be back to Butter Creek Retreat!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this quiet spot on the creek in Packwood! The location is serene and peaceful, perfect for relaxing, enjoying nature, and unwinding from the hustle and bustle. Joe and Shelly were exceptional hosts—always friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. They made sure we had everything we needed, checked in just enough to be helpful without ever being intrusive, and their kindness truly made us feel welcome. The space was exactly as described, and it felt like a true retreat. We loved spending time by the creek and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. We’re already looking forward to our next visit and would highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a calm and beautiful getaway.
