This stay was very unique. Semi-direct access to a river and a creek. Propane stove available for additional cost when burn bans are in effect. Honey bucket nearby, although very full. Flush toilets and sinks available at entrance (approx 3 minute drive). Janna was quick to respond and gave a lot of good info.

The setting is lovely, however, there is no longer a flowing Creek beside site, which is what prompted me to choose this hipcamp ( with little other amenities) at its higher price. It sounds like the creek may not return. Also the porta potty was full to the top making it practically unusable.

Really beautiful spot to camp near the river. We had a great time, despite the wildfire smoke. Very peaceful and mostly quiet, and proximity to Diablo Lake and lots of great hikes and outdoor rec spots.

Such a gorgeous area! And the host was super responsive and helpful - I had trouble getting the water main turned on, and she had someone out there the first evening to do it.
The only two negatives were that the porta potty was way too full (almost to the seat) and there was some construction noise coming from the site next door.
Overall enjoyed my time in a lovely piece of Washington!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at winedown camp! Was a lovely little spot next to the creek which was very soothing and nice to listen to as we fell asleep. Was nicely situated near a large honeybucket, so the bathroom wasn’t very far at all. Loved the digital guide of all the walkable trails and things to do in the community! There were lots of people visiting at the same time but everyone was very respectful of the quiet hours and even during the day, because of the creek, you couldn’t hear the other visitors. If you stay here, make sure to take the walk to the sandy beach!

We absolutely loved this spot, it was a private, wooded spot, close to the rushing creek and had everything you need. With water right there, plenty of seating, a fire pit, and nearby porta potty - we were set. It was simple for us to park and relax, we took the dogs for a walk and drink in the stream and enjoyed dinner and cards on the provided picnic table. The moon shone through the trees and we slept soundly with the rushing creek sounding in the background. Highly recommend staying in this wonderful spot close to everywhere you want to explore in the area, well set up, private and safe.
We had a magical stay at Winedown camp, the downloadable app was extremely helpful it had every detail and question you may have already answered, as someone who likes to be prepared this was perfect. The host Janna was quick to respond and kind. The site is beautiful and close by plenty of natural attractions. The sound of the river and creek flowing was wonderful and the camp grounds got super dark and quiet at night you could see stars through the tree tops. I hope we stay here again.

Janna was absolutely incredible. After our extremely long drive, she was so kind and accommodating and made us feel welcome right away. She helped us get the water turned on at the site and even let us borrow kayaks, which truly helped make my boyfriend’s birthday so special.
This trip meant a lot to us because we came to Washington to explore the area and see whether it might be a good fit for our family as we think about a future move with our disabled son. Janna really made the experience even more memorable and was truly the icing on the cake for us.
We fell in love with it here and will absolutely be back very soon. We’re so grateful for her hospitality!! 🫶🏽

I was so refreshed by the creek and the rain. My girlfriend and I enjoyed quiet time and restorative connection with nature before heading back to civilization on the easy, winding highway 20.

We had an amazing time at the Winedown campsite the last week of August. The site was plenty big for our teardrop and a tent. Checking in was effortless. The spot is surrounded by charming mossy trees. Our kids (9 and 12) spent hours in the little creek, which is cold but really nice. We spent a lot of time just chilling out at the campsite. It was nice to walk the 15 min or so to the little park for river access, swings, and flush toilets, though the port-a-potty was just fine and just down the hill from the site. It's a larger, accessible size, which was nice for changing clothes.
The drive to Diablo Lake (where we spent most of our time) was an absolutely gorgeous 45 min. Loved the powerhouse in Newhalem and the North Cascade Visitors Center. We would absolutely love to come back next summer!!

It was a very peaceful and quiet area. We enjoyed the stay immensely while listening to the creek.
We loved the moss everywhere, it looked like carpet. A very secure place, being behind gates. Great people for a host with good communication. A very clean place.
Nice place but a few problems:
Trash was strewn about the site and in the fire pit.
The previous campers left the trashcan nearly full so we couldn’t utilize it fully.
We only added a little bit of our own trash as a result but couldn’t take it out because it was so full. We notified the host that we cleaned up the site from the previous campers and that we weren’t able to fully utilize the amenities described in the listing; their response was to try and charge us a fee. (We cleaned their site for free and couldn’t use every amenity listed — why should we have to pay more?)
The water was supplied from a concrete/asbestos well at one point. I would not drink from that.
Not great dealing with the host throughout. You’d think people would be more appreciative if you clean up their site for them.
Wouldn’t go back as a result.

Pretty cool spot! We definitely plan on going back to stay at their cabin! Super close to the North Cascades and an excellent home base for any small-medium group. Most of the site is gravel so if you have a larger tent, make sure to plan accordingly.

One of the most stunningly beautiful campsites we’ve ever stayed in. Way off the beaten path, yet readily accessible to North Cascades. Definitely rustic, so plan ahead but well worth the stay!
Private site tucked into the forest near a creek. It's within a gated cabin/camping community but there's very little traffic on the road. Very quiet and peaceful with the sound of the creek. Creek is accessible too, just requires scaling a slope using a rope.
They had a large picnic table at the site and an extra folding table. Bunch of chairs around the fire area although there was a burn ban when we visited.
Overall I'd definitely recommend!
The gentle sound of the stream flowing nearby was very pleasant and made for a relaxing experience.
However, we found the space a bit cramped for two families. Also, while the restroom is close by, it's unsanitary.

This was hands down the best tent stay I’ve ever had! The tent site near the creek was incredibly peaceful, calm, and relaxing, falling asleep to the sound of the flowing water was pure bliss. The host, Janna was amazing…super responsive, and guided us thoroughly, answering every question promptly. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations. I can assure you, you will not be disappointed staying here. Truly a hidden gem and absolutely the best one out there!
A great location to some of the coolest places in the North Cascades, beautiful site, very clean, calm as well as responsive hosts! The creek running right next to the property was definitely the highlight!

Janna’s description, directions and communication were spot on for the entire experience! The space is beautiful and although located in a community surrounding it with other small homes, etc., you still felt like you were in the middle of nowhere! The sound of the creek next to you, the very large fire pit and provided Adirondack chairs were great! There’s even a two seater bench overlooking the creek to relax on! The trees were even perfectly spaced for me to hang my hammock up! The space is fairly level and my 19 foot campervan fit perfectly! The beautiful mossy - tree landscape was like waking up in Narnia and with the exception of the occasional vehicle (which was very few), I felt like I was out in the middle of nowhere! Cannot wait to stay again, and will definitely be letting friends know about this hidden gem!
