What a great spot! It was my first time using hipcamp and Kevin was an amazing experience. He had a warm fire, great table set up for cooking, fresh oysters, heated hot tub and lovely rooms. He was a very kind and accommodating host who really cares for the place and people :) It was great to chat a bit and also have space to enjoy the setting. A perfect place to end a weekend of back country winter camping on the peninsula!
**hidden amazing waterfront gem**
Kevin is an AMAZING host! His beautiful beach camp is the best Hipcamp we’ve visited! Our dog got to run free with his, & they had a ball! He taught us all about his oyster farm & we enjoyed clams & oysters right out of the water! The bed was comfy & the cabin was warm and had everything we needed. The hot tub was sooooooo great after a busy day of adventure in the area, & the fire was relaxing too. I can not say enough good things about our stay! An 11/10! We liked it so much we wish we could keep it our secret, but it’s too good not to share! Thank you Kevin! We will be returning FOR SURE with friends! He had an abundance of of recommendations for the area, & kayaks right there at the property too.
A fun and unique camping experience
Our stay at Treasure Cove Oyster Camp was exactly what we needed. Kevin is a wonderful host with a sense of humor and a passion for all things oysters! He even showed us how to dig for the oysters and clams on his beach during low tide (at 1:30am!) so that we could participate, then the next evening he spent time to show us how to safely shuck the shells and grill our meal. We happened to be the only two guests over the weekend so got spoiled with use of all the amenities - kayaks to paddle around Treasure Island, relaxing hammock, and the outdoor hot tub was worth the extra $. We watched otters play in the cove and listened to the sound of nature. Definitely recommend this spot - be ready to relax and also enjoy the good company of a friendly host that takes pride in his craft.
Can not wait to go back next summer! Private beach, cute and private cabins, shower, hot tub, and fresh oysters and clams harvested by Kevin - what is not to love? Our gang rented the 3 cabins and it felt like adult summer camp.
A fun and relaxing place to stay!
We can't say enough about our stay at Treasure Cove Oyster Camp! Upon arriving we werr warmly greeted and given a tour by our host Kevin. Our cabin was quaint, clean, cozy and larger than it looked online. Our site was super large and included chairs, tables and a picnic table complete with a table cloth and fresh flowers. Also included for use in our stay was a barbque, a propane fire table, a shared dishwashing station and bathroom with a real toilet and a shower with hot water! We enjoyed combing the beach for shells and taking our kayaks out for relaxing paddles around the area. We explored many coves and loved watching the wild life... blue herons, seals and deer. Our evenings were so peaceful watching boats and wildlife as we relaxed by the fire table and enjoyed making smores as a family.
Kevin is a wealth of information on the area, oysters, fishing and places to go. He and Penny were there to answer questions and provide help but also gave campers space as well. We highly recommend purchasing some oysters and clams from Kevin during your stay. We have never had more fresh and delicious oysters and thoroughly enjoyed barbecuing and eating our fill. Another recommendation... the hot tub! We frequented the hot tub before bed to relax and when it got a little chilly. Using the hot tub was an extra fee but totally worth it!
A few things to note.. first remember this is camping. The cabins are rustic. We stayed in cabin 1 and had tons of room.. the bed was comfy and had clean linens. We were warm at night and slept easily listening to the sounds of nature and looking up at the skylight. There was a table area for 2 inside and solar power for lighting and phone charging. French style doors opened to a large covered front porch with seating and beautiful views of the water. Be sure to check for burn bans and with Kevin for hot tub and oyster prices. Also... he can help you with tide information which is great to know. During high tide the beach disappears and at low tide it is huge and great for exploring. Be sure to bring your own towels and coolers. There are nearby stores for ice and forgotten items as well as a coffee stand. We had a tent trailer and a tent for our kids and had lots of room for both.
Thank you Kevin for sharing your wonderful oyster camp with us. We had a great time and are already talking about coming back!
What a gem! will return!
This was the absolute perfect place to relax, play, eat fresh oysters and clams from Kevin and did I mention relax! We were a family with elders, kids, middled aged and a puppy. All of us had plenty to feel comfortable. There are 3 cabins with a comfortable bed and electric outlets and plenty of room to set up a tent. Entire place fenced in for off leash dogs. The bathroom was perfect and clean. The hot tub was also fabulous! Kevin provided some chairs, picnic tables, bbq, kayaks with a couple life jackets, lazor show on the trees after dark if desired and a gas fire place looking over the water. I can't say enough about this gem and Kevin. We will all be back next year. And if you run out of anything, you're 10 minutes away from the cute town. Thanks Kevin for sharing your special space!
