Welcome to our secluded little farm paradise. We are located on the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peninsula on the main drive, West Saanich Road. Our farm is a 7-acre home to horses, sheep, goats, and chickens, along with a budding willow and rose garden and veggie stand. We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp: (1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow (2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm (3) The Barn Loft private guest suite {The Camping Meadow} The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet for charging devices at the west gate (that's across from your entry point). It can host up to 12 people total. West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow. {Car Camping around the Farm} We've received lots of requests for car camping so we've created several little nooks in and around forest and meadow spots on the farm. If these are all booked, you are welcome to still book the tent camping meadow and sleep in your vehicle, but please note that vehicle cannot enter the fenced camping meadow. {Shared Washroom} The washroom is the shared washroom on the farm inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. The Barn Loft Guest Suite is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared washroom. Please note that only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces. {Farm Fun} We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep,. The best camping near Sooke Potholes Provincial Park guide

Overview

About

The small provincial park offers day-use river access for swimming, picnicking, or fishing, but no camping. The park’s Galloping Goose Trail is popular for walking and biking. The larger Sooke Potholes Regional park abuts the provincial park and has additional hiking trails and a 67-site campground managed by the regional district and operated by T’Sou-ke Nation. Sooke Potholes Provincial Park and Sooke Potholes Regional Park are the traditional territory of the T'Sou-ke Nation.

When to go

Sooke Potholes Regional Park is open for camping from mid-May to mid-September. The best weather for swimming is from July to mid-September. This is also the busy season, as summer vacation starts at the end of June. Those seeking a quieter experience will find it less crowded on weekdays when schools are in session, during May, June, and September. Coho and chinook salmon spawn in fall, making the park a great place to view the salmon run.

  • Public transit is available via BC Transit #61 from Victoria to Sooke River Road (ask the driver to let you off as close as possible), then about a five-kilometre walk along Sooke River Road.
