Terravita Brentwood Bay

Cozy spot to camp. It was nice to be at a smaller campground with only one other family. Bathroom and shower facilities were clean... had trouble finding them at first and ended up at the main house... they are to the right of the garage. Ducks were noisy sometimes but it added to the charm. Felt like $10 per kid was a bit much to add since they didn't use many resources... maybe under 12 free?

It was a beautiful space and the host was super accommodating and kind! It was definitely the favourite of spots we went on our road trip and would definitely want to go back. It was in a nice location and was private while still being near the things we needed!

Perfect location close to ferries

This is a great site for tent camping. The location is a 3 minute walk to butchart Garden and there are provincial parks and a butterfly garden nearby as well. Bathroom and shower were really well maintained and clean. The site is very private especially at night but there is a walking trail nearby so sometimes you can hear some hikers walking. Also there are some ducks on the property but they don't come near the campsites just squawk at you when you walk to the bathroom.

A serene evening at Terravita

Terravita is a well cared for and thoughtful Hipcamp. Before we arrived, Steve sent us clear directions so we knew exactly how to find the place and check-in. We stayed in the Cottontail site which was clean with a soft ground for our tent. We were amazed by the amenities at Terravita: there is a clean toilet and coin shower, a well organized garbage and recyclables sorting area, a sink with soap for dishes and hands, and even an electric kettle! It was nice to save on campstove fuel and use the electric kettle for our hot drinks. We were very comfortable and slept well at our site. We'd definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

This campsite is beautiful! We stayed 2 nights there. It was so peaceful and quiet at night, the ducks are so cute, and the bathroom and outdoor shower were very clean!! We also really appreciated the hot water kettle by the sink. I would definitely stay at this campsite again.

A beautiful treed property with a slight grade on the rustic pathway to the facilities. It was nice having a flush toilet and outdoor shower. As well as the electric kettle was a treat to make a hot drink. Licorice Fern was a great site for a small tent, as it is tiered with a picnic table.

The host Steve is super accommodating in providing us this site, as the tent sites were reserved. As a tent only site, this is sketchy, compared to the 2 other great sites. The proximity to the duck pen is a tent killer, yet inspires a haiku. Tent sites with the ducks Night: the aroma and noise the moon gives shadow

The property is well established for the hipcamp thing. We really appreciated the kitchen/shed setup where we could wash, boil water, and charge devices. There is lovely shower that works flawlessly, internet, and flush toilet. The property is incredibly well located to both town, the ferry, and the gardens. Pro-tip, you can walk to the marina through the neighborhoods on a pedestrian friendly way. Go for Cottontail or licorice fern if traveling with tents and looking to be a bit more removed from the ducks. But if you love ducks, you will not be hard pressed to find them mingling about the grounds! Great stay, would come back!

Steve’s property was sweet and perfect for what we needed as we were in the area attending a wedding and just needed to stay one night. It was easily accessible and signed very well. The amenities looked great though we didn’t have time to use them all. Beautiful landscape and lovely ducks. Clear and helpful instructions, great host. Butchart Gardens is just a short distance away. Lots of farms and farmstands around as well.

Steve and Tina were very kind and courteous hosts. We enjoyed our stay in their little forrest oasis. The directions were simple and the location is perfect. Only a short drive to Victoria. The kitchen, toilet and shower was helpful during our stay. You can tell everything was thoughtfully designed and executed to accommodate. The ducks including silly Goosie were a treat. We would absolutely book with them again. Good hearted people through and through.

Wonderful stay at Terravita Brentwood Bay – Licorice Fern I stayed at Terravita Brentwood Bay – Licorice Fern for a few nights, and it was a wonderful experience. If you love being surrounded by nature, this is a great place to stay. You really feel like you’re living on a farm, with Mother Nature all around you—especially the ducks! Steven, the owner, was very friendly and even gave me some duck eggs to try. They were absolutely delicious and made the stay feel even more special. Butchart Gardens is only a few minutes away, and I visited it during my stay. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to places to get food, gas, and everything else you may need. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Ducks, lots of ducks! This site was perfect for us. Close to the garden with a flushable toilet and running water. I loved the ducks, but they are a bit noisy, so light sleepers be warned. Fortunately, my family are heavy sleepers so it was no issue for us.

Perfect place to camp. The location was excellent as it was close to Tod Inlet and Butchart Gardens. The hosts were great. From the first communication to the last. We slept in our car because we have a bed there and it was nice to sleep under the carport. The hammocks were a great place to hang out and read. The shower and bathroom were just as described… as were the ducks and goose! We will be back!

Our Stay at Licorice Fern

We had the best time camping at Licorice Fern! The property itself is peaceful and surrounded by gorgeous forest. We loved saying hello to the ducks and enjoyed their fresh eggs. Above all, Steve is a wonderful person and it was delightful chatting with him. This was an amazing stay and we certainly recommend you visit!

The campsite location was ideal especially since it was right next to Butchart Gardens which we'd been wanting to visit. That plus the (reasonably) quiet locale and the excellent setup and directions the host Steve had put together, made this a very viable stay. We'd come again!

My daughter and I loved this sweet place! It was the perfect spot to land after exploring Butchart Gardens. Our camping spot was clean and tidy. We particularly loved the hammocks in the trees and the antics of the ducks and goose. Steve was welcoming and kind. We hope to return again!

Steve had a great set up for camping on his land. It was in a great location, we walked to Butchart gardens which was really fun. Our only difficulties were the geese/ducks were really loud one of the nights and we had to pay for showers with a Loonie (which we didn't have). Regardless, I would be willing to go back and camp there again.

We stayed at Terravita for a couple of nights at the end of a camping trip. What a repose! The campsites were tucked away in tall trees. Every walk along the trail to and from vehicle or amenities was a magical moment. The ground was level and comfortable for tenting. The land and animals are cherished and cared for. Great place to convene with nature and retreat from the peopled places. And when you want to return to it, the hubbub is just a scenic drive away!

Our spot was exactly how Steve described it. Worked well with our little teardrop trailer and the ducks were a fun distraction. Easy drive into Victoria. Steve was helpful and friendly. We would satay here again.

We appreciated the clean and organized camp. The proximity to Butchart Gardens was also key. The goose and ducks were fun to see, but we had not expected them to be so loud (especially during a long while in the very wee hours of the morning).
