Hatzic Island Acres

71km from Emory Creek Provincial Park · 3 sites · Tents, RVs · Mission, BC
Welcome to Island Farm Camp, a peaceful 7-acre hobby farm on beautiful Hatzic Island in BC. Surrounded by lush greenery and open skies, our property offers a quiet escape just far enough from city life to breathe deep and slow down. Campers have access to a private field site, separated from other areas of the farm by an unused barn for added privacy. Whether you’re in a campervan, trailer, or tent, you’ll enjoy a spacious grassy area with a gravel pathway for easy access and a private fire pit (available when no fire ban is in effect). This is a dry, off-grid site—there are no hookups or on-site amenities, so guests must be fully self-contained, pack out all waste, and leave no trace. As part of your stay, feel free to say hello to our friendly flock of chickens who roam the farm and might just come by to greet you. You’re welcome to visit with them during your stay—especially a hit with kids and animal lovers! Though you may spot us around the property, the camping space is tucked away with plenty of room and privacy. We love sharing the charm of our little farm and hope you’ll enjoy a peaceful, no-fuss stay under the stars.

74km from Emory Creek Provincial Park · 22 sites · Tents, RVs · BC
SELF-CONTAINED UNITS ONLY! ***PLEASE CONFIRM IN YOUR REQUEST TO BOOK THAT YOU HAVE YOUR OWN TOILET & a pop-up change tent to put it in if not in an RV. (You can dump it before leaving - let the host know in advance). The map, is not accurate on this site! Check on my Tamihimeadows.com website for the actual map and directions & for more information and pictures. We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for any neighbours to hear. Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall & has world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids, ideal for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just minutes away. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the covered picnic shelter. There is now a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for some protection because of the drop-off & undercut banks (not shown in the pictures). We have an endless network of trails and logging roads, perfect for ATVs (ride directly out of our gate), hiking, and biking. Whether you’re seeking adrenaline or tranquility, this property offers both. ATV's are idle in - idle out only. QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them. LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights. CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 8 AM and 8 PM. BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef for sale and we occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens. Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them. If you prefer, we have 6 bare-bones fishermen's cabins. All the details are on my Tamihi Meadows site under "Cabins".

Hayward Farms

(364)
80km from Emory Creek Provincial Park · 7 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging · Mission, BC
We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  • Arrive early: With a first-come, first-served policy, arriving early increases your chances of securing a prime campsite.
  • Visit during off-peak times: Consider camping during weekdays or outside of the main operating season for better site availability.
  • Have a backup plan: In case the campground is full, research and be prepared to head to nearby camping options.
  • Check advisories: Always check the latest park advisories for updates on campsite availability and potential closures.

When to go

The best time to visit Emory Creek Provincial Park is during its main operating season from May 10 to October 20. The park's serene beauty can be fully appreciated in the warmer months, while the off-season may see facilities like water taps turned off, and the gate locked, limiting access.

Know before you go

  • Check for campfire bans or restrictions before lighting a fire, and always use the provided fire rings.
  • Be mindful of wildlife and practice safe camping habits, especially during the spring and summer run-off seasons.
  • Remember that pets must be on a leash at all times and are not allowed in beach areas or park buildings.
  • Prepare for limited services as the park is cooperatively managed and may offer different facilities than other BC Parks.
  • Respect the park's history and the ongoing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples by staying informed and considerate.
