It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. Today, the property is a thriving summer camp that also offers overnight tent stays with stunning lake views.

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

We are excited to offer 3 off-grid log cabins, providing a highly private setting. 20 min to Parry Sound. These cabins are located within 75 acres of forest. Each cabin features either two single beds or one king-size bed. Cabins are insulated but have no heat so bring own pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. Accommodation is limited to two adults per cabin.
Common areas for all cabins include:
1) Outdoor Kitchen (includes pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils etc.),
2) Freezer/Fridge,
3) BBQ,
4) Indoor Shower (hot and cold water),
5) Outdoor Shower (hot and cold water) and
6) Toilet/Outhouse with running cold water.
The large BBQ is equipped with 5 burners for the grill. There is also 1 side pot burner for foiling water and another ceramic grilling burner.
Additionally, we have three tent spots available, with one designated for each cabin. There is ample parking space for guests. You can enjoy the convenience of a shower with hot water and a BBQ pit.

From Hwy 400, get off on hwy 141. Go east towards Rosseau. Turn left at Tally Hoe/Swords, then right at Turtle lake rd and left at Star lake rd.
Explore the various trails for hiking, mountain biking, and even a small white water creek. There are plenty of lakes in the surrounding area. Seguin Trail is just 1 km away. A beautiful Maple Key Park and sandy beach awaits you only 4 km from the site. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the nearby historic town of Orrville.

4) Absolutely no candles allowed, (if desired please use insents only!)
5) Parties allowed only upon verbal consent from the management,
6) We have no cleaning fee so please keep your cabin neat and tidy.
7) Before checkout please place all garbage in and around the cabin into main bin located beside the outdoor kitchen.

We are 3kms from Sturgeon bay Provincial Park (a nice beach!) and 3kms from the Bayfield Inlet public launch on Georgian Bay (visit the iconic pink rocks and windswept trees of Georgian Bay).
We help people create healthy homes and buildings and sought fresh air and clean water to host workshops and retreats. The property has a small house, a guest lodge for retreats, 2 lovely and private recreational vehicles (a 24’ Jayco & a 27’ Cougar) as well as a tiny home. All spaces are scent-free, low VOC and no WiFi.
Hipcamp sites are on hard-packed dirt/gravel on a driveway that runs parallel to the road in front of the former restaurant. There is a composting toilet.
We love to host people getting away from the city or taking exploratory road trips. There is water access near here for canoes, kayaks and other boats. Our secondary highway (ON 529) is fairly quiet and decent for cycling. (It's very quietnorth of the ON529A turn-off!). In the spring and fall there is a nice trail through the woods.

The land is framed by the historic Bruce Trail to the north, Billy Bishop airport (only a few small prop-private flights daily) to the west, Concession 6 N on the East, and Highway 26 on the south end of the property.
There is a forest on the north end of our land where the bruce trail runs through (C) and the farm sits more to the south end (A). There's a pine-forest that one has to hike into (B- see map in photos). Generally, the area is close to swimming in Lake Huron, the property is large (100 hectares) and the neighborhood is large grain. This means you can have a chunk of the forest all to yourself.
For area A you can drive in the main driveway and park by the house/ barn or on the field. Or walk to a camping spot. No 4 wheel drive is necessary. Please stay away from the Barn as it is dangerous to be close by.
For area C you can access the fields from Concession 6 N at one of the gates past (North) of the driveway. You will need a 4-wheel drive to not get stuck in the field. Please do not park on the agricultural field.
For area B You will park your car behind a gate right off Highway 26 and hike in to find a site to pitch a tent. There are about 3 spots for cars behind the first set of Pines. You might need a 4-wheel drive. It's completely up to you where you set up camp.
We ask that you do not light any open fires as this is a coniferous forest. Feel free to walk in as far you want to find your spot. If you walk too far you will come up to a field and the farmhouse. We ask that you do not camp on the agricultural fields.

On clear nights the starry vistas will unfold in the Dark Sky Preserve here on the Bruce Peninsula.
The lakefront has a picnic table to enjoy a meal at (no fire pit). You can push off from the shoreline with your kayaks or canoes (bring your own) to explore “The Fens” of Mountain Lake.
The lake is NOT suitable for swimming, it has a marl bottom that you will sink into.
There is no potable water, please bring your own for drinking and cooking.
There are some nice beaches suitable for swimming within a 15-20 minute drive. Sauble Beach is best for a swim and to watch the sunset from.
We are located 10 minutes from Wiarton, 20 minutes from Sauble Beach and 1 hour from Tobermory. Enjoy all the Bruce Peninsula has to offer from this convenient base.

The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

Stay here for a day or a week, this off-grid little resort has all the necessities that one would need, and make you want to come back again!
We are excited to offer 3 off-grid log cabins, providing a highly private setting. 20 min to Parry Sound. These cabins are located within 75 acres of forest. Each cabin features either two single beds or one king-size bed. Cabins are insulated but have no heat so bring own pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. Accommodation is limited to two adults per cabin.
Common areas for all cabins include:
1) Outdoor Kitchen (includes pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils etc.),
2) Freezer/Fridge,
3) BBQ,
4) Indoor Shower (hot and cold water),
5) Outdoor Shower (hot and cold water) and
6) Toilet/Outhouse with running cold water.
The large BBQ is equipped with 5 burners for the grill. There is also 1 side pot burner for foiling water and another ceramic grilling burner.
Additionally, we have three tent spots available, with one designated for each cabin. There is ample parking space for guests. You can enjoy the convenience of a shower with hot water and a BBQ pit.
Address is 261 Star Lake rd. Seguin. Its the second driveway when going north on Star lake rd. Look for a sign MAPLE RIVERS LANE.
From Hwy 400, get off on hwy 141. Go east towards Rosseau. Turn left at Tally Hoe/Swords, then right at Turtle lake rd and left at Star lake rd.
Explore the various trails for hiking, mountain biking, and even a small white water creek. There are plenty of lakes in the surrounding area. Seguin Trail is just 1 km away. A beautiful Maple Key Park and sandy beach awaits you only 4 km from the site. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the nearby historic town of Orrville.

Cranberry Camp is located 6 kms past the village of Pointe au Baril. It’s surrounded by Ontario native forest (the “bush”) and wetlands in the hinterlands of Georgian Bay. We are 3kms from Sturgeon bay Provincial Park (a nice beach!) and 3kms from the Bayfield Inlet public launch on Georgian Bay (visit the iconic pink rocks and windswept trees of Georgian Bay).
We help people create healthy homes and buildings and sought fresh air and clean water to host workshops and retreats. The property has a small house, a guest lodge for retreats, 2 lovely and private recreational vehicles (a 24’ Jayco & a 27’ Cougar) as well as a tiny home. All spaces are scent-free, low VOC and no WiFi.
Hipcamp sites are on hard-packed dirt/gravel on a driveway that runs parallel to the road in front of the former restaurant. There is a composting toilet.
We love to host people getting away from the city or taking exploratory road trips. There is water access near here for canoes, kayaks and other boats. Our secondary highway (ON 529) is fairly quiet and decent for cycling. (It's very quietnorth of the ON529A turn-off!). In the spring and fall there is a nice trail through the woods.

The land is framed by the historic Bruce Trail to the north, Billy Bishop airport (only a few small prop-private flights daily) to the west, Concession 6 N on the East, and Highway 26 on the south end of the property.
There is a forest on the north end of our land where the bruce trail runs through (C) and the farm sits more to the south end (A). There's a pine-forest that one has to hike into (B- see map in photos). Generally, the area is close to swimming in Lake Huron, the property is large (100 hectares) and the neighborhood is large grain. This means you can have a chunk of the forest all to yourself.
For area A you can drive in the main driveway and park by the house/ barn or on the field. Or walk to a camping spot. No 4 wheel drive is necessary. Please stay away from the Barn as it is dangerous to be close by.
For area C you can access the fields from Concession 6 N at one of the gates past (North) of the driveway. You will need a 4-wheel drive to not get stuck in the field. Please do not park on the agricultural field.
For area B You will park your car behind a gate right off Highway 26 and hike in to find a site to pitch a tent. There are about 3 spots for cars behind the first set of Pines. You might need a 4-wheel drive. It's completely up to you where you set up camp.
We ask that you do not light any open fires as this is a coniferous forest. Feel free to walk in as far you want to find your spot. If you walk too far you will come up to a field and the farmhouse. We ask that you do not camp on the agricultural fields.

The campsites are located down a hill and are close to the lake. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table and ample room for tents and parking for one vehicle.
There is one outhouse on the property near the lake access that is to be shared with all campers. There are walking trails to respectfully explore and enjoy local flora and fauna.
On clear nights the starry vistas will unfold in the Dark Sky Preserve here on the Bruce Peninsula.
The lakefront has a picnic table to enjoy a meal at (no fire pit). You can push off from the shoreline with your kayaks or canoes (bring your own) to explore “The Fens” of Mountain Lake.
The lake is NOT suitable for swimming, it has a marl bottom that you will sink into.
There is no potable water, please bring your own for drinking and cooking.
There are some nice beaches suitable for swimming within a 15-20 minute drive. Sauble Beach is best for a swim and to watch the sunset from.
We are located 10 minutes from Wiarton, 20 minutes from Sauble Beach and 1 hour from Tobermory. Enjoy all the Bruce Peninsula has to offer from this convenient base.

We had an amazing time here. Wendi is super friendly and thoughtful, she checked what we needed and reminded us about the cold.
The horse experience was the best part. Grooming them felt so calming and the horses are beautiful and very friendly.
The firewood amount is really generous and lasts a long time. The campsite is spacious with lots of privacy. At night it was perfect for stargazing, I saw so many stars and even a few shooting stars.
The toilet is very clean and everything here feels well cared for. I also admire how much Wendi and her family have built in just a few years, they are really living my dream life.
Overall this was way better than camping in a provincial park. Highly recommend and I will definitely come back.

What a lovely weekend we had at Ivan's property 😀
He's a wealth of knowledge about native fruit trees & berries. The front of the property has an extensive orchard that Ivan has worked on for ten years. Check his booth out at the Meaford Farmers market if you have the chance!
The campsite was in a lush grassy area neighboring a cover crop plot that provided lovely views. An old fire pit was provided and we made good use of it.
The farm is close to town and you can easily make a visit to owen sound/ thornbury/ Collingwood to flesh out a full weekend trip. We had a blast and highly recommend 👌

We, three moms looking for a little escape, couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot for our fall weekend. From the moment we arrived, everything about this place felt quietly magical.
The setting is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, natural, restorative. The rustle of autumn leaves, crisp fresh air, and unspoiled surroundings made it easy to slow down and breathe. It’s rare to find somewhere so serene, where you can truly unwind.
The host was thoughtful and attentive in all the right ways. The tent was comfortable and well-prepared; everything was clean, cared for, and exactly what we needed. The out houses were immaculate—so well kept that they felt more like a pleasant surprise than an afterthought.

We took our truck camper to Sweet Oasis and weren’t disappointed at all with the view! Spacious and fairly private. The properties around are long and narrow so the neighbours are quite close but hidden by lots of foliage! It did seem like the neighbours were having a party a couple of the nights we were there so I might be mindful of that if you’re looking for a quiet getaway…The water was lovely (I’d recommend water shoes as it’s quite rocky) we had a nice dip and took out the SUP board. Great way to cool off! Liza was extremely responsive and kind and would highly recommend a stay!!

Walking through the forest heading to the campsite, a beautiful view by the lake, loons calling, peaceful and quiet at night. The lake is weedy still went swimming, hubby enjoyed fishing.
The lady who met us was so nice she showed me the way to our campsite and brought firewood, we missed the complimentary canoe hopefully next year we will have one, aside from that no complain.
Definitely we be back.
