Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

The property is literally right across the road from the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which boasts amazing trails, views and features the Niagara Escarpment.
The 4-acre pond/wetland is designated 'Provincially Significant' by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is an important part of the Nottawasaga Watershed.
This area is renowned for its terrain - the fields are rolling and the views are quite special.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

Sparrow Lake Camp is situated on the southernmost tip of the majestic Canadian Shield. The site is known to have been a campground for bands of the Huron people prior to the European intrusion. It is considered probable that Samuel de Champlain, the first European to explore Huronia, spent a night on this site in the 17th Century.In 1892, what would become the west side of the current property was sold by pioneer Captain Thomas Stanton to Toronto's renowned Massey family to act as their summer resort. The resort sported the main lodge, dining room, and cottages and was only accessible by train and steamer. From the onset, the Masseys used the site as a summer retreat for the Young Men's Bible League of the Central Methodist Church. We were so happy to discover this beautiful spot just a short drive from Toronto. Nestled right next to the river, the campground is exceptionally clean and well-maintained.
Marcin and his wife were incredibly friendly, nice, and inviting. They keep both the sites and the facilities spotless and tidy, and they went out of their way to accommodate every request we had. The campsites back directly onto the river and are only a short walk from the beach. They also sell dry, high-quality hardwood, a huge improvement over the moldy, damp wood you often get at provincial parks. Another big plus is that they allow several families to share the same site, making it a much better option for group camping than the provincial parks.
Just a couple of practical tips: bring mosquito repellent, as you’re camping by the water, and pack for cooler, damper nights thanks to the river effect.
We would definitely book with Marcin again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and family-friendly riverside getaway.

Marcin was an extraordinary host! He goes above and beyond to make us have comfortable and enjoy our stay. He even toured us in his property. This camp is so beutiful. If you ever have an important event or milestone this place will be a perfect venue. The barn and the river are my top favorite sight! The campgrounds are so clean and flat. Even our little dog had the time of his life exploring the place. Our kids also enjoyed swimming in the river and the playground. They even have real bathrooms and showers. Thank you Marcin for hosting us. We will surely be back with a much bigger group of friends!

I went tent camping here with my friends and we had the best time! The land is absolutely gorgeous. There's a bunch of space and flat spots for tents. There was even a power cord for charging our phones so we didn't need to rely on portable chargers.
Donna was amazing, so kind and helpful. She told us about free parking at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, provided firewood, and overall was a stellar host.
If you're looking for a quiet place to disconnect and enjoy nature I recommend Donna's land!

What a wonderful little campsite. We were looking for something not too far from Toronto but still dark enough to see the stars. This location did not disappoint. Everything was as advertised. We even left a critical piece of camping equipment at home and went to Joan directly for help: she stepped up huge and provided what we needed in that emergency. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick or not so quick getaway. Joan was an incredible host! Thank you!

I really enjoyed my time at Pine the Sky, the host was really nice with my wife and I. The sky at night is full of stars and if you want to make a fire, Joan sells firewood for $10 a bag, but you can bring your own too.
Even though there were more people there we still had privacy with our campsite near the river. There is a bathroom but if you'll stay in campsite 1, I recommend bringing a portable potty/privacy tent because it is "far" from the bathroom (a 3 or 4 minutes' walk)
"Problems"/Wrong expectations on my end: we went just last weekend (August 15) and since it's summer there was A LOT of mosquitos. We had bug spray and even mosquito head nest, but it wasn't enough, my whole body is covered with bites.
I also chose this place because I wanted to get in the water, but it was really muddy, you can use the available Kayaks (we did and it was very fun!) but I am not sure about swimming. It is a little bit hard to get in and out of the river even with water shoes.
PS: I loved her dogs!

Enjoyed my first Hipcamp at PayDirt Farm. Maureen was a lovely host. I spent 2 nights camping in a private wooded area. Midland is just a short drive away, should you need any supplies. Maureen sells farm fresh eggs ($7) from her friendly hens, and also firewood ($10). Campers are allowed to gather wood from the forested area. Note: bring gloves for the firepit, lots of bug spray, and a rope for the bucket used to gather water from the creek, which is down a steep hill. Yes, there is traffic noise during the day, but it quiets down at night. All in all, a very good experience for my first try at Hipcamp. Thanks Maureen!

We had a great time.
There are table, fire pit, cups and even some cooking utensils ☺️.

Weekend Trip to Rugby House Retreat
Thanks to Renee and Warren for having me at the Rugby Retreat for a solo stay to get out of the city. I stayed in “The Poor House” and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable “camp” experience. Everything you need to have a stress free getaway is here. Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky
We had a great stay. We booked our two night stay rather last minute, and decided to enjoy a little glamping for a change of pace. It was nice to come back at the end of our day hiking and doing outdoor photography and being able to enjoy a relaxing shower and relax on the couch, away from the bugs for a short while. We usually are out tent camping, so this was a treat. Joan was a fabulous host and she made sure that our stay was perfect and she checked on us throughout our stay as well, as her two dogs did (whom I’m convinced only liked us for the liver dog treats we had on hand. 😝). Once, our dog got used to her two dogs, our dog was comfortable roaming off leash with Joan’s dogs.
We both highly recommend this place!
