The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. ALL sites have 2 car parking, a picnic table, fire pit and covered wood for purchase. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight.
5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. We have 3 outhouses on the premises and an outdoor hot shower.
FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.
Birders Paradise!
The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. With over 400 species of birds observed, Long Point looms large as one of the most exciting places on the continent to observe our rich birdlife.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.
-RV Spot: With electric hook up ideal for RVs 30 feet and under
-a connection to the organization, 'Black Folks Camp Too'! Welcoming to all!!!!!

Gorgeous, serene 38 acres of pristine woodlands, trails and meadows. Our property is named after our large White Dog don’t worry all our animals are friendly.
Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature. Take a stroll down our personal trails, or bring your four-wheelers/bikes and enjoy the 1000s of kilometres of trails that begin after our driveway.
Piles of rocks throughout the bush indicate that this land once was farmed. A creek runs through the property with a beaver pond. The land has a main trail that goes right through to the back of the property. The land is a mixed forest with maple, pine, hemlock, birch and cedar.
The land is rolling and flat with good walking trails. Great hiking, cross country skiing or biking trails. Only 50 minutes to Kanata, 30 minutes to Perth, Almonte or Carleton Place, and for downhill skiing only 30 minutes to Calabogie. Many lakes in the area for fishing, swimming and boating.

Relax and unwind in this beautiful cabin by the river. Sit on the front deck and relax and enjoy the sounds of the running water. The cabin has limited electricity for lights, ceiling fan, cell phone charging and WiFi etc. There is room to comfortably sleep 4 people. (Please note, for larger groups more than 4 people, tent rental or tent site must be booked at the same time.) There is a single over double bunk bed and a roomy camp cot. Blankets are provided but please bring your own bedding (sleeping bags encouraged during colder months). The room also includes a mini fridge, diesel heater . There is a lovely wooden swing to relax. There is a cooking area that includes a propane BBQ for your use with cooking utensils. There is also a fire pit with a grill and a beautiful wooden outhouse just steps away from the cabin.

There is a public beach close by in Durham, only 20 minutes away.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.
Google Earth shows it better.
There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Your furry friends are allowed for free but if you have extra people please pay for them.
You can adjust your booking if there are more people than originally requested.
This covers costs like insurance and private property access, property taxes and the huge initial investment.
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.

Weekend Trip to Rugby House Retreat
Thanks to Renee and Warren for having me at the Rugby Retreat for a solo stay to get out of the city. I stayed in “The Poor House” and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable “camp” experience. Everything you need to have a stress free getaway is here. My partner and I loved our stay at Killdear. Deanne and Wayne were so warm, welcoming and generous! The bunkie had a comfy bed and all the essentials, plus a nice porch to spend the morning right beside the Mindemoya River. This location also cannot be beat for access to Providence Bay beach, the boardwalk is literally across the street! We will definitely stay here again <3

Weekend Trip to Chapelwood Chalet
My girlfriend and I came here to spend our 4 year anniversary. It was an amazing choice, it had a variety of beautiful trails, that were also well marked. The Chalet itself looks even prettier in person. He also kept you well stocked with so many amenities. If your looking to get away from your busy life for a bit, this is the place to be.

We had an amazing stay at this campsite. It was the best campsite we have visited in the last few years. The beautiful view and the sound of the flowing water made it a very peaceful and relaxing experience.
The campsite had everything we needed, including a BBQ, heater, drinking water, and kitchen essentials. Our kids had a fantastic time swimming, playing badminton, enjoying the zip line, and playing the board games provided.
The hosts were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even more special.
Overall, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We will definitely come back next year and bring three of our friends' families with us. Highly recommended!

Nice little cabin with electricity. The fan was key as it was a bit warm the night we stayed. We were driving through, and we have a couple of pups that need space, and this place worked out perfectly for us. It was a bit of a sandy area, so trying to keep dog feet/ all feet somewhat clean took some thought, but overall we would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods
A bunkie with all you need with a lovely view. Continuous sounds of nearby waterfall will provide relaxing vibes. Chairs were set up for our arrival on the deck. Perfect size for two adults. Nighttime fairy lights dance in the woods alongside ample fireflies. The river swimming hole was relaxing and refreshing. Loved our weekend getaway. We will definitely return.

Our experience was simply magical. Cosy cabin 2 was so quiet and private. The wildlife around us was vast and friendly. We even saw a moose! A bunny visited our site often as well. Lots of blue Jays and other birds in the surrounding trees. We would definitely return.

Amazing! We had the most wonderful time. Gillian and Jim were fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to ensure you have all you need (and then some!!) The whole experience exceeded expectations, from taking a dip in the creek, to some R&R by the fire, hikes around the trail 10/10!

Weekend Trip to Spring Arbour Magic Forest &Trails!
Spring Arbour bunkie id one of a few bunkies in Angela and Erik's Bush, directions were very clear, communication was excellent, from the directions given at the booking to notes inside the cabin and also the outhouse.
The cabin inside was exactly as described, with bottled water and a solar power provided as well as a fireplace inside, s wonderful addition.
Lots of firewood was provided and available for purchase, as well as chairs to sit on around the fire pit and on the little porch.
I can't say enough just what thoughtful and kind hosts Angel and Erik are.
We will be back sometime!

My grandson and I really enjoyed our stay at White Pines Retreat! The cabin was attractive, clean, and comfortably laid out, and came with some lovely extras, including phone chargers, a Keurig, a zipline, and inflatable chairs for the lazy river.
The owners know the area well. They are very responsive to any requests, helpful, and just genuinely nice people! We are looking forward to returning!

The site was clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed and more. The river was clean and refreshing. We went for rest and relaxation and that’s what we did. The hosts were fantastic and friendly.

What a unique spot! This is a literal goldmine if you want peace. The plane crash was so cool and Rick was ana amazing host.
Our car died at the site so we needed a jump and his wife and their friend managed to get us out of there. We will definitely be returning in the future.
