The cottage is at the edge of a large wilderness area. We supply an ultra-safe large canoe with paddles and lifejackets. It's an easy and fun 15 minute paddle to reach the cottage. The cottage is an artistic gem on a safe and quiet lake with beavers and loons and numerous bird species -- owls, herons, hawks, ospreys, and many migratory songbirds. In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max. Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there. The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks. This place was made by and for lovers, artists, poets, musicians, dreamers, writers, environmentalists, ecologists, escapists...and their children. Enjoy!

Learn more about this land: Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre. 10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred. The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.  There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances. There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit. If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival. There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed. You have access to 2 kayaks and 1 canoe, 2 adult lifejackets. These are located on the waterfront between the bunkie and the house @260 Matcheski Road. Please return these as you found them after each use. They are shared with the guests at the house. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water! Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. Take your garbage and recycling. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!  Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

The cottage is at the edge of a large wilderness area. We supply an ultra-safe large canoe with paddles and lifejackets. It's an easy and fun 15 minute paddle to reach the cottage. The cottage is an artistic gem on a safe and quiet lake with beavers and loons and numerous bird species -- owls, herons, hawks, ospreys, and many migratory songbirds. In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max. Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there. The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks. Learn more about this land: Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre. 10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred. The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.  There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances. There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit. If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival. There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed. You have access to 2 kayaks and 1 canoe, 2 adult lifejackets. These are located on the waterfront between the bunkie and the house @260 Matcheski Road. Please return these as you found them after each use. They are shared with the guests at the house. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water! Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. Take your garbage and recycling. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!  Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

Learn more about this land: Rustic bunkie located on 2 acres, is nestled among the trees beside a small, crystal clear lake. With 700 ft of untouched shoreline, privacy is second to none. From this lake, you can access 3 other lakes by provided canoe/kayak without portage. The site is 35 min. from Algonquin Park and 11 km from MKC, the world-famous white water paddling centre. 10x10 main floor with sleeping loft. Solar power provides lighting & a propane furnace for cool nights. Solar lights outside provide ambient lighting-may be turned off if preferred. The call of the loons & the barred owl will be your lullaby as you drift off to sleep after a day of hiking, paddling, or swimming.  There is no running water, you will have to bring your own drinking water. You will need to bring everything you require for cooking, eating and washing dishes. There is no sink, stove, or BBQ on site. As the site is off-grid, there are no appliances. There is a split log bench beside the self-contained fire pit.  Please bring your own firewood, matches/lighter,  and/or firestarter materials. Small fires only please, as this is a well-treed location. Fires must be extinguished prior to going to bed — there is a bucket by the firepit. If you are wondering if something is there, I suggest you reach out to check with me before arrival. There is a new private outhouse on site. The outhouse is past the bunkie along the path. Solar lights work with the flick of a switch — one switch by the door, one by the bed. You have access to 2 kayaks and 1 canoe, 2 adult lifejackets. These are located on the waterfront between the bunkie and the house @260 Matcheski Road. Please return these as you found them after each use. They are shared with the guests at the house. It is a natural shoreline at the bunkie, with a sandy bottom — pretty good swimming, actually! Absolutely no harsh chemicals/detergents in the water! Please leave the site tidy and as you found it. Take your garbage and recycling. This is a small lakeside community —  no loud music, please. Respect the solitude!  Please respect the natural setting — leave it as you found it, do not cut live growth.

I booked a last minute camping trip with my daughter on Augusts Creekside site Oct 18. He greeted us and oriented us on our arrival. The land is beautiful and the site was very spacious. We had the option of pitching our tent on the platform. We had tons of space for our tent, dog bed, chairs and 'kitchen'. The site also has a large fire pit(tons of wood available) and BBQ. We enjoyed our night so much on this peaceful piece of property we definitely plan to go back🌞 Highlights were the trails (rugged), the creek/waterfall and Roxy the horse who was our neighbor during our stay. August assured us he was just across the road should we need anything. Our phone provider didn't work there (Rogers works there) so it was great to know we didn't need to go far in case of emergency.

Had an amazing stay at Sean’s place in the beginning of October. He was so accommodating and friendly. We had everything we needed and Sean was responsive to our messages. The lake is a short walk away and even though it was late in the season, we had warm enough weather to take a dip. We stayed on the landing site and had an overall amazing experience. Will definitely be back again. We went exploring and made a couple of new friends in the area as the people we encountered were very friendly. Not a single complaint and it’s nice for people who want to forgo the crowded campgrounds.

These are the Hastings Highlands! Within a 10 minute drive you'll find an abundance of lakes, including the beautiful Papineau Beach—a picturesque child-friendly and swimmable lake with shallow waters. The site is surrounded by a variety of tree and plant species while the quiet nights encourage visits from wildlife, including grouse, deer, moose, and turkeys. The campsite comes with a fire pit, picnic table and a small shed for storing lawn chairs and other items. Tucked at the back of the property sits a comfortable and clean outhouse that was newly renovated and restored in Spring 2024. Hand sanitizer, air fresheners, and ventilation ensure the outhouse stays fresh. Garbage removal will be provided. Unlimited water for cleaning purposes will also be provided. Guests must bring their own potable water. The campsite is 5 minutes from small-town Maynooth, which is known for its unique vintage shops and selection of art studios and galleries and 30 minutes from Bancroft, the Mineral Capital of Canada. While the site is not directly connected to any trails, a short stroll down the road leads to an access to Papineau Creek. Nearby old logging roads make for easy and accessible on-foot adventures. The Hastings Heritage trail is just down the highway. Whether you're looking for hiking trails, fishing holes, swimming spots, or places to adventure by watercraft, Campsite in the Pines has it all! Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. This campsite is tent camping only, some acceptations may apply (please message host) Large private family campsite located on Kamaniskeg Lake Rd private access to 10 acres with six stunning waterfalls and a pond. Wild Raspberry and blackberry and lots of wildlife to see. Driving: 5 minutes to hinterland beach, 5 mins to Combermere, 10 mins to Madawaska Kanu Centre, 15 mins to Barrys Bay, 35 mins to Bancroft, 3 hours to Toronto. Exclusive access to 6 privately owned stunning waterfalls. Surrounded by crown land. Kamaniskeg lake is a large lake known for its crystal clear waters, excellent fishing, loons, hiking/atv/snowmobile trails, and over 90 kilometres of boating. Absolutely no dumping/ littering on the property. To get to the waterfalls is considered to be a moderate to advanced level hiking ability required. There are no neighbours. There is no electricity or bathroom facility. Local amenities nearby: - Convenient store in Combermere - Hospital, banks, churches, restaurants, and unique shops to browse through in Barry's Bay - Metro & Valumart grocery stores Home Hardware Building Centre in Combermere) - Liquor store & Beer store - Pharmacy - Post Office - Gas Stations - Outdoor adventure outfitter, Mad Outdoors - Dollar store and Stedman’s department store - Madawaska kanu centre Dont forget to visit the beautiful Hinterland Public Beach when you visit and please check current fire ban status for hasting highlands. When you arrive there is no address number, please follow the approximate address on google. You will see a tree with several pink ties around it, thats the main entrance. Please be advised we have trail cameras set up around the property for security purposes only. You may consider using the rear camping site to be further away from the road, you will find a second fire pit there!

This off grid warm, cozy, roomy and rustic cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably. It is located in Round Lake, Ontario with easy access off Renfrew County Road 58 (Round Lake Road). It is approximately a 25 minute drive to the Basin Lake Access Point of Algonquin Provincial Park and just minutes away from the Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards Township boat launch in the village of Round Lake Centre . Bonnechere Provincial Park, Foy Provincial Park and Cheryl Boyle Park are 2-4 kms away, where sandy beaches and excellent swimming can be enjoyed on pristine Round Lake. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets at these locations provide the perfect beginning and end to your days. Bring your camera!! Fall brings a whole new dimension to this picturesque community nestled in the Upper Ottawa Valley. The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker. The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife. The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. The kitchen comes equipped with a 4 burner propane stove with an oven. A two burner camping stove can also be made available. A wood fired, air tight fireplace for warmth on those cooler nights, provides both comfort and ambiance (wood is provided). Please note: guests must bring their own bedding/sleeping bag/pillow as we do not provide that. The cabin is solar powered with a back up gasoline generator. An outdoor fire pit with seating is close by, as well as an outhouse. Walking trails along the beaver pond and property are maintained for your hiking pleasure. There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers.

Learn more about this land: Watch the sunrise over the beautiful Musky Bay! Cozy cabin suitable for 1-2 people.   This is a small heated 8 x 10 cabin with a queen-sized bed for sleeping and an outhouse for your use. The cabin has minimal cooking items for your use, Coleman stove, percolator for coffee, and campfire tripod are available. You will need to bring your own bedding, toiletries, and utensils for cooking. Please leave the cabin exactly as you found it. You will need to bring your own propane for the Coleman stove and Martin heater. In the winter you can ice fish, cross country ski, hike on Baptiste lake or hop on the nearby snowmobile trail for days of riding. Situated very close to Algonquin Park, there is ample opportunity for hiking and biking in the summer months. Groceries and supplies are available within 20 minutes of the cabin.  We look forward to hosting you!
