The campsite is probably better suited to smaller groups, but having the bunkie and outhouse were great perks and made our stay super simple. The walk down to the water is farther than we had thought from the listing, but the dock and lake are fantastic, great for swimming and absolutely incredible star-gazing.

OG - Coe Island Lake Campground
We loved our first trip to Telly's property so much we came back.. and didn't want to leave! The water was beautiful for swimming and the dock was great for diving. We love this site because it's a dead end road so no road traffic, peaceful location on the lake with only two distant neighbours and low boat traffic. It's a perfect spot to relax and unwind. We will definitely be back for a third visit!

A beautiful well-maintained space! We got there at around 9PM so it was a bit difficult to see as it was pitch black however the host was reachable and assisted us with finding the site. Thank you! The site itself is spacious and has a tented outhouse, bunkie, and wood. The walk to the lake was less than 2 minutes. The water was beautiful and we used the canoe & lifejackets supplied by the host. Overall, great site!

We were very happy with the stay at Coe Island Camp, especially our time spent in the water at the dock. Sand entry was a bonus for placing our lawn chairs to escape the heat. We were blessed to experience wildlife at the end of this quiet road -- a fawn, fox, blue Jay's, red squirrels and chipmunks. The bunkie was a perfect spot for keeping coolers, however, make sure to keep any food in a secure plastic tub. We brought a portable table, but suggest a picnic table be added as it would be helpful. The trail down to water was a little longer than I expected, but not a deal breaker. The gravel part of site is good, especially when it rained. Bathroom was fine, served purpose. We will definitely plan on returning.

Telly's land was great, and the spot is so easy to access - yet very private. Aside from a few people passing by (some were kind of enough to even leash their dogs as they pass - awesome!), the whole site is yours. I didn't see anyone aside from distant boaters from the deck. There is no one directly beside you or across from you down by the water. And despite reviews stating the assumed staircase is steep - I actually was really happy with it and found it easy as an able-bodied individually. I wish I brought my paddle board. The spot is really clean. We definitely would like to come back. The spot does seem tuned to a trailer site as there is not a lot of flat, grassy patches to pitch a tent comfortable. Just be aware if you're traveling with multiple tents that they might not be able to go right beside each other.
Lastly, I loved the walk through the forest to get to the dock. It was a little mossy wonderland ending at a beautiful view point overlooking the dock. Thank you Telly - we really needed the downtime. x

A beautiful spot! We brought our camper for two nights. It was super quiet and peaceful. While it’s off season, we couldn’t believe how quiet the lake was. Telly came to check on us a couple of times but we were out on the water, or taking a snooze on the dock or our hammock, so we never met up. But he was there if we needed anything. Our dog isn’t a big swimmer but for those who do, this spot is perfect. We would love to come back in the summer! While we used our camper, the provided toilet and bunkee were clean and readily available if needed. We also enjoyed having the canoe there, saved us from bringing our own. Would 100% recommend. Thanks Telly!

Well off the beaten path and very private. This place was just what we needed. A nice winding pathway to the water and great little canoe provided to paddle and fish the picturesque lake. The scenery, sunsets and stars were amazing and the site itself perfect for a smaller (17' - 20) trailer or rig.

This site was perfect! We stayed 3 nights with our pop up trailer (my husband, our 2 large dogs, and myself). Telly was great, he checked in on us upon arrival to see if we needed anything, and was very accommodating.
We enjoyed relaxing on the dock, while our dogs swam. It was beautiful. The provided empty bunky available for use was also nice to store some of our things to keep some stuff out of the morning dew.
Bancroft was not far- where we visited, stopped at the local brewery. I highly recommend visiting the fudge shop, and “the house of jam” - I think that’s what it was called. The old Tin shed was also neat.
Overall this site was very nice, we would recommend this site to anyone looking for a peaceful spot to camp :)

We were a group of 7, all sleeping in our vehicles and it was a really great stay!
The view of the stars is great from the fire pit and the bunkie was really great for storing our coolers and food to make sure no critters got into it. The trek down to the water is pretty steep; we brought two extra canoes so it was a bit of a mission to get them down, so be careful! but other than that the dock is super good quality and the lake is beautiful! It was very quiet, especially for a long weekend.
The compostable toilet was wonderful, it didn’t smell at all so it made for a very comfortable experience.
It’s nice because there are no close by neighbours, no park patrol telling you to put your fire out or be quiet, and just an all around better experience than a provincial park.
Telly brought us wood and was very quick to respond to messages. He is nearby, but not up in your space. He is very friendly and me and my group would love to come back to stay.

It is a beautiful place, my family loved it , we had a great time , telly was an amazing host . Unfortunately our trip got cut short do to an medical emergency with my husband, i was left alone with my kids scared, i called him to see if he could help me pack up and no issues was there right away , will forsure rebook , thank telly for having us

I want to start off by saying Telly was an amazing host, we were booked from Sunday August 15th to Thursday August 19th, unfortunately we had an emergency happen and had to leave Wednesday, my husband was rushed to the bancroft hospital, I was alone with 2 kids trying trying to pack and hold it together, I called him to see if he could help me load kayaks on and with out having to think he was right there and check in on us 3 times to make sure we where okay, thank you so much, other thing that the camp site is clean and beautiful, my photos don't do its justice at all. 10000% recommen this site just be ready for a nice small hike to water front ! Thank you again telly for being an amazing person!

Very good campsite, with a shed and a small shelter included - a rare find for a campsite. The site was completely private and provided full access to a nice lake. The camp clearing itself was also quite spacious and we fit 3 tents. I would recommend this campsite, and the HipCamp app

We fell in love with this place and would definitely come back again next summer!
The place was very easy to find. Our campsite was very spacious and had everything we needed. There's a bunkie where you can sleep, an organized toilet space, a little shed with all kinds of useful tools (chairs, table, shovel, etc.), a firepit with firewood ready nearby (it was very nice of the host to include it) and even a couple movement-detecting night lights (very convenient!).
The best part, of course, was having a private dock all to ourselves! The lake was gorgeous and peaceful, and we could enjoy our time fishing, canoeing, paddling, swimming, boating or just relaxing in the hammock. On a clear night, the stargazing is amazing here, you could even see the milky way!
Couldn't be thankful enough to have Telly as our host! He was very helpful and friendly, we felt very welcomed and taken care of. He told us a bit about his land and why he decided to choose this kind of lifestyle, he also shared some tips on fishing and brought us frog baits.
Honestly, I wish we had more days to enjoy this place (our dog agrees). So, we're definitely coming back again!

We had a lovely time at Coe Island Lake! The lake was gorgeous and the campsite was nice and quiet. There were neat places to explore all around and there was cool wildlife to see (e.g., two loons were on the lake to greet us when we arrived). The bunkie was really handy to have around even though we mostly used our tents. The site was clean and well maintained. Telly was helpful and friendly. We hope to return again some day :)

This place is great! It is clean and well kept, it is well equipped with a clean bunkee and it has spots for your tents. Best part is the fishing - great fishing and the bass were delicious (if I had stayed longer perch would have been on the menu next, lots of those right off the dock). Telly is super friendly and it was a treat to stay here.

The property is very remote, quiet, and well cared for. There are many amenities, and ample shelter if it rains. The dock is amazing, is about two hundred steps from the site down a beautiful forest path. The lake is crystal clear, a nice temp and clean for swimming, and hosts a magical loon duo. Kawartha Dairy and a lovely little gemstone shop called Lakeside Gems are not far from the main road entrance to the site. Highly recommended.
Telly is an outstanding host; I've stayed on many properties and give Telly a five star PLUS rating. We weren't able to meet in person, but communication was swift, all questions and concerns were addressed and needs accommodated to. Looking forward to our return!

Awesome spot! Bunkie was roomy enough for a queen mattress up top and plenty of storage space on the bottom. The overhang was great to cook under when it rained. Also very few cars pass by the site so it was very quiet.
The waterfront is amazing. It's worth the rental alone to have your own private waterfront area. Large dock that you can deep dive off. A second fire pit. Canoe. Great wildlife and fishing.
We'd be back if it wasn't all booked up for the rest of the summer! Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our time at Telly's camping spot. It looks exactly like a rustic camping spot should but with some modern conveniences like a very clean & comfortable outhouse tent, storage shed and a motion detection night light (prevents stumbling around in the dark for those late night bathroom calls! ) But the jewel in the crown of this spot is for sure the dock & lake. Very private, comfortable and beautiful. A tiny beach area for the little ones and cool, clear water for the swimmers in your group. Last but not least Telly was a perfect host. Friendly & polite, accommodating and considerate, there if help is needed but otherwise leaves you to your own devices. All in all pretty much a perfect trip and we would definitely stay here again. We recommend this spot for anyone. You should give it a try too!

Our stay was awesome. The camp site is alright, they provided a screened in tent, a table and some other really useful tools in a shed which was awesome. They also provided a bunkie where My husband, my two toddler children and I slept in which was AMAZING because it has no windows and the kids could nap. I’m thrilled they had the bunkie because there was no flat land. The site is cleared but not flat at all. I’m not sure where we would have set our tent up if not for the bunkie. But the swimming, holy moly was the swimming ever awesome. So worth it just for the incredible weedless water and dock to jump off of. The water is so clear you can see all the fallen trees at the bottom, it was beautiful. There is this little patch of sand to the left where the kids played and made sand castles. It was perfect for our family. Telly was a great host, I’d highly recommend this camp.

This campsite was amazing. We had such a great time! The lake was nice and clear. The campsite has a canoe and lots of lifejackets for your use. He even has some useful tools ready for you in the shed like a shovel, some camping chairs, and even a kitchen tent. We really enjoyed our time here, and I would 100% recommend this place! Make sure you catch the sunrise by the lake, it is breath-taking. Telly was such an amazing host and very accommodating. The town is just 15 mins away. They have Kawartha ice cream stop there, make sure you try it! We can't stop talking about how it was such a nice time we had! Thank you so much for a great experience. 100/100!

The lake is amazing! Private deck to access the lake, just a short walk from the camping site. There was a canoe and life vests we could use, which was super cool. The area is very quiet and the space is private, which we liked very much.

This site had everything you could ask for. A killer fire pit, an amazing trail headed down to the water, a nature oaisis down by the dock... will definitely be coming back! Also - my pups had an absolutely amazing time running through the bush and down by the water. Telly is also an extremely helpful host and is there for anything you may need! Definitely recommend. :)
