This rustic cabin was the perfect retreat for my dog and I. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us and It was nice to have somewhere to inside during rainy spurts and of course sleeping. There were some basic board games, a pulldown table, futon, couch, and comfy corner chair. Upstairs was the loft with a very comfortable mattress and plenty of space to keep my backpack. They were plenty of windows so fresh airflow during the day and night was amazing to keep the temperature even - And it was a hot week But comfortable within the cabin.
The campfire area was well thought out with solar lights that came on at night and several spots you could get into the water directly. The house was pretty basic, but Did the job.
The lake the cabin is on was fairly quiet and we mainly saw people fishing or kayaking. We also were able to access the other two lakes by borrowing the Aluminum canoe. I do recommend using the canoe if it’s not too windy otherwise it’s a little bit more difficult to steer - But we were not on a time limit, so it was perfect for my dog and I.
The Walk from the parking spot To the cabin wasn’t too long, but I did bring my own foldable waggon to make getting my gear from the car to cabin area a lot More efficient.
Beautiful area and a short drive to Algonkin and other areas with amazing wildlife and hiking trails, we would definitely recommend this cabin stay!
