The cottage is at the edge of a large wilderness area. We supply an ultra-safe large canoe with paddles and lifejackets. It's an easy and fun 15 minute paddle to reach the cottage. The cottage is an artistic gem on a safe and quiet lake with beavers and loons and numerous bird species -- owls, herons, hawks, ospreys, and many migratory songbirds. In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max. Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there. The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks. 2 nights at Natural Joy! Cosy Canoe Cottage

Paul's cabin is so cozy and situated within such a stunning and remote area. We loved canoeing around Ragged Lake and looking the beautiful big faces of the Canadian Shield. We also loved just starring out at the lake and looking at the birds, the trees and the stars. My partner and I had such a lovely time and will definitely be visiting again!

Weekend Trip to Big Rock Eco Retreat & Campgrounds

What a wonderful time away where it felt that time stood still in the midst of falling leaves and glorious rays of sunshine. Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! Despite the wind, it was still an easy canoe ride in and the maps were super helpful. It was well-equipped for cooking and being cozy. Such a beautiful space and 10/10 cd collection. Would definitely stay here again :)

We really enjoyed camping on Pennys land! The short drive to the cabin was beautiful! The trees really gave us privacy, which we loved :) The cabin was so cozy and clean, and the provided bbq, burner and propane was very convenient! Great experience!!!

My husband and I absolutely loved our time here. Especially right beside the river. Wish we would have brought our chest waders to walk right into the river. Beautiful sunsets. The quietest campsite we have ever visited. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

My fiancé and I loved Tiny Village. The experience from before arrival to our checkout was seamless. The previous reviews absolutely do this place justice. The staff is very kind and welcoming. We also loved how friendly the fellow campers were! I would highly recommend this place to a future camper.

Weekend Trip to Camp Rose Island

Sarah’s arrival instructions were perfect (our GPS definitely said we arrived before we arrived). We ended up being able to drive all the way in to our site in our Corolla, there was only one rock that stuck out a bit but Sarah warned us about it. The site itself was secluded and quiet, a good distance away from the next closest site. The lake was lovely, the land is lovely, Sarah is lovely; all around a lovely experience 💚
