This property was settled by the Irish in the mid 1800’s. Originally inhabited by Algonquin peoples the land was cleared for farming and they erected several building including a large German style hand hewn timber frame barn which still stands and is used today. The farm house was built in the 1910 and the original log cabins have been reframed into artistic buildings. It is wild to look around and imagine what life was like before now in a time when the land had no boundry lines and was traversed by indigenous peoples of this area. We have a great respect for those who have walked before us and a deep sense of gratitude for being here today.

Welcome to Campsite in the Pines, a one acre lot surrounded by forest that you have all to yourself - located in beautiful cottage country, near the east gate of Algonquin Park. These are the Hastings Highlands!
Within a 10 minute drive you'll find an abundance of lakes, including the beautiful Papineau Beach—a picturesque child-friendly and swimmable lake with shallow waters. It also offers breathtaking sunset views! The east gate to Algonquin Provincial Park is a scenic 30-minute drive, while hiking trails suitable for all skill levels can be found closer at Lake St. Peter Provincial Park.
The campsite includes a canoe, 3 paddles and 3 life jackets. THERE IS NO WATER ACCESS from the site, so all watercrafts must be transported by vehicle. Ratchet straps will be provided to secure the canoe to your roof racks.
The spacious campsite has pull-through access for trailers, and space for up to 3 tents. The site is surrounded by a variety of tree and plant species while the quiet nights encourage visits from wildlife, including grouse, deer, moose, and turkeys. The campsite comes with a fire pit, picnic table and a small shed for storing lawn chairs and other items. Tucked at the back of the property sits a comfortable and clean outhouse that was newly renovated and restored in Spring 2024. Hand sanitizer, air fresheners, and ventilation ensure the outhouse stays fresh. Garbage removal will be provided. Unlimited water for cleaning purposes will also be provided. Guests must bring their own potable water.
The campsite is 5 minutes from small-town Maynooth, which is known for its unique vintage shops and selection of art studios and galleries and 30 minutes from Bancroft, the Mineral Capital of Canada.
While the site is not directly connected to any trails, a short stroll down the road leads to an access to Papineau Creek. Nearby old logging roads make for easy and accessible on-foot adventures. The Hastings Heritage trail is just down the highway.
Whether you're looking for hiking trails, fishing holes, swimming spots, or places to adventure by watercraft, Campsite in the Pines has it all!

The Upper Place is a 100 acre managed forest that is carefully curated by me, foresters, and loggers for diversity of wildlife and healthy trees. In addition to the plantation, there are wilder areas to explore with mixed hardwood and seasonal streams. Bring boots to explore! Directly across the road is a large Mennonite Farm with fresh produce, syrup, eggs and pies!
This property is large and I will usually have a chat to determine best placement for you/other guests depending on your needs and size of tent/trailer etc. But for now, I'm just started out and have the one spot with firepit. If you don't intend to have an outdoor fire, let me know and we can place you in another location!
-You must have a self-contained method of disposing of all waste. Leave no trace. No garbage collection. No outhouse. Some poison ivy and nettles in wilder swampy area far off the main path. I will provide a map...it's not likely you'll see it!
You may encounter deer, fox, rabbit, fisher, partridge, turkey, coyote. Be aware of the whereabouts of small children and animals at all times.

These campsites are newly developed and are located at the very southern tip of Algonquin Park.
There are about 30 - 50 feet between most campsites. Depending on the campsite sometimes there is more than 50 ft or less than 50 feet as some campsites are meant to go together when people are traveling in groups.
You will need to put in a request and details, for the time you would like to book. The site will not book automatically.
The more details you give me the better I can decide which site is best for you.
There are lots of trails and less than an hour from the Algonquin Park East Gate. Please be respectful of the other campers and leave the
property as clean as you found it. There is horseback riding available
next door and canoe, kayak and SUP rentals 2 km from the campsites.
These campsites are also located within the Geocaching Capital of Canada, so a great place to find treasures, nearby. Kingscote Lake is about 7 km up the road and High Falls Hiking trailhead is about 2 km from campsites.

We have several options for camping sites and experiences for campers to choose from. There are 6 campsites available for tent and RV/trailer campers. We can accommodate vehicles up to 30ft in length (no hookups available at this time). Pets are welcome!
Go for a hike up the mountain, meander along the streams, walk to the lake 15min down a beautiful country road. Enjoy what we have going on at the art barn where we host artists in residence studios, music jams, workshops and events.
Enjoy an evening around your private campfire or perhaps join some folks gathered at the communal fire pit under the stars.
Book a sauna session for an evening, and possibly a massage or healing session. There’s always something to do on this farm😋

Welcome to Campsite in the Pines, a one acre lot surrounded by forest that you have all to yourself - located in beautiful cottage country, near the east gate of Algonquin Park. These are the Hastings Highlands!
Within a 10 minute drive you'll find an abundance of lakes, including the beautiful Papineau Beach—a picturesque child-friendly and swimmable lake with shallow waters. It also offers breathtaking sunset views! The east gate to Algonquin Provincial Park is a scenic 30-minute drive, while hiking trails suitable for all skill levels can be found closer at Lake St. Peter Provincial Park.
The campsite includes a canoe, 3 paddles and 3 life jackets. THERE IS NO WATER ACCESS from the site, so all watercrafts must be transported by vehicle. Ratchet straps will be provided to secure the canoe to your roof racks.
The spacious campsite has pull-through access for trailers, and space for up to 3 tents. The site is surrounded by a variety of tree and plant species while the quiet nights encourage visits from wildlife, including grouse, deer, moose, and turkeys. The campsite comes with a fire pit, picnic table and a small shed for storing lawn chairs and other items. Tucked at the back of the property sits a comfortable and clean outhouse that was newly renovated and restored in Spring 2024. Hand sanitizer, air fresheners, and ventilation ensure the outhouse stays fresh. Garbage removal will be provided. Unlimited water for cleaning purposes will also be provided. Guests must bring their own potable water.
The campsite is 5 minutes from small-town Maynooth, which is known for its unique vintage shops and selection of art studios and galleries and 30 minutes from Bancroft, the Mineral Capital of Canada.
While the site is not directly connected to any trails, a short stroll down the road leads to an access to Papineau Creek. Nearby old logging roads make for easy and accessible on-foot adventures. The Hastings Heritage trail is just down the highway.
Whether you're looking for hiking trails, fishing holes, swimming spots, or places to adventure by watercraft, Campsite in the Pines has it all!

The Upper Place is a 100 acre managed forest that is carefully curated by me, foresters, and loggers for diversity of wildlife and healthy trees. In addition to the plantation, there are wilder areas to explore with mixed hardwood and seasonal streams. Bring boots to explore! Directly across the road is a large Mennonite Farm with fresh produce, syrup, eggs and pies!
This property is large and I will usually have a chat to determine best placement for you/other guests depending on your needs and size of tent/trailer etc. But for now, I'm just started out and have the one spot with firepit. If you don't intend to have an outdoor fire, let me know and we can place you in another location!
-You must have a self-contained method of disposing of all waste. Leave no trace. No garbage collection. No outhouse. Some poison ivy and nettles in wilder swampy area far off the main path. I will provide a map...it's not likely you'll see it!
You may encounter deer, fox, rabbit, fisher, partridge, turkey, coyote. Be aware of the whereabouts of small children and animals at all times.

These campsites are newly developed and are located at the very southern tip of Algonquin Park.
There are about 30 - 50 feet between most campsites. Depending on the campsite sometimes there is more than 50 ft or less than 50 feet as some campsites are meant to go together when people are traveling in groups.
You will need to put in a request and details, for the time you would like to book. The site will not book automatically.
The more details you give me the better I can decide which site is best for you.
There are lots of trails and less than an hour from the Algonquin Park East Gate. Please be respectful of the other campers and leave the
property as clean as you found it. There is horseback riding available
next door and canoe, kayak and SUP rentals 2 km from the campsites.
These campsites are also located within the Geocaching Capital of Canada, so a great place to find treasures, nearby. Kingscote Lake is about 7 km up the road and High Falls Hiking trailhead is about 2 km from campsites.

Had an amazing stay at Sean’s place in the beginning of October. He was so accommodating and friendly. We had everything we needed and Sean was responsive to our messages. The lake is a short walk away and even though it was late in the season, we had warm enough weather to take a dip. We stayed on the landing site and had an overall amazing experience. Will definitely be back again. We went exploring and made a couple of new friends in the area as the people we encountered were very friendly. Not a single complaint and it’s nice for people who want to forgo the crowded campgrounds.

It started raining right as we arrived and didn't stop until the next day, yet it was still a great trip! There's something special about this place!
It feels very private and tucked into the woods, but there's a gravel road not far away, so you'll hear vehicles from time to time. Or people walking and talking and you'll think there are people in the bush, but they pass eventually.

The scenery was breathtaking — especially the waterfalls, which were not only gorgeous but so much fun to explore. Great communication as I thought I'd be getting there late, so clear instructions were given. Facilities were clean and no waiting for a hot shower!
