We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. We are privileged to permanently reside on and be the stewards of 7 acres beside Shuswap Lake, Okanagan BC, in the unceded territory of the Sechwepmec peoples. We have been creating a homestead in harmony with nature over the past 11 years. We reside year round in the Post and beam straw bale home that was built in 2000. Our current project is building our “aging in place” hemp lime cottage. Once completed it is our plan to build an in ground greenhouse. Additional future plans include building for a music studio, further development of our food forest, and the offering of self development training workshops. Additional camping/rv sites will be made available in the coming years. We look forward to offering fellow nature lovers an opportunity to appreciate the benefits and peace Braeheart Nature Retreat has to share. Whether you are seeking a more private get away or an opportunity to experience our developing homestead ideas/practices, we are devoted to meeting your desires. We are located 2km from Harald Provincial Pk. and the world renowned Margaret Falls. Our nearest town for services, Salmon Arm, is 25km away, and is host to the annual Roots and Blues Festival. Swimming, hiking, kayaking, wine touring, and weekly farmers markets are a few of the many local activities to enjoy. Those interested in a work/ stay opportunity are welcome to contact us to collaborate. We look forward to your stay with us! New photos with upgraded amenities will be added later this spring. Facilities on the campsite will be shared with a max. of 4 persons at any one time during the open season this year. We will be available on site, via text or in person to answer questions or meet any needs you may have. Most basic needs are provided, just bring your cooler of food and your set! Had an amazing time renting Christain’s Belle tent. He was extremely helpful and accommodating. We appreciate him making sure we had enough blankets and offering a gas fit pit. Highly recommend, will definitely come back.

When the lights come on at night, the vibe is magical. I had a cozy night by my propane fire and enjoyed the sound of the river!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Riverside Glamping. The hosts, Lisa and James were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The site was exactly as described and all we needed to bring was food and personal items. The site itself was gorgeous and private. The yurt was beautifully done and very comfortable. We will be back for sure!

It's a really great place. The host was also very kind, and the atmosphere of the harmonious family was particularly nice. The glamping site has everything, and the shower and toilets, which were of great concern, were really clean. The glamping site was full of romance and the host was kind. The disadvantage is that the network doesn't work, but it's slow because there's Wi-Fi, but Internet access is possible. The bathroom is clean and the glamping site I thought was to sleep in a poor environment for a day, but this place was so nice! +) It's a pity that I couldn't say hello to three pugs in the morning. Django, Theodore, Zeus Bye Bye:)

My friend and I really loved this place. Facing the river view. The set up is reallly cute and cozy and they have everything prepared. Although the day we went was pouring but it was a really relaxing for us… The hosts are super friendly and nice !!!! I would love to come here again on the days that are not raining !!!

I loved glamping on Lisa and James’ land! They are wonderful hosts, and I felt very welcome and comfortable during my stay. The property is beautiful - right by the river with mountain views you can enjoy from your private deck. The tent was amazing too! It’s set amongst the trees, which provide perfect shade on a hot, sunny day. I had everything I needed to cook, relax, and enjoy myself.

Oh my god, what a lovely experience! As a LOTR nerd, I was delighted at the theme. :) The site was peaceful and quiet, the doggies were so friendly and welcoming, and every detail was thoughtfully designed. For me, this was capital G glamping. There was a very clean flushing toilet outhouse with all amenities you’d need, the shower was so amazing - think, steamy cedar, cool island air, fresh fluffy towels. The outdoor kitchen with organic coffee, spearmint tea, and yummy cookies in the morning was truly next level fancy shmancy. The tent was amazing: clean, cozy, and warm, beautifully designed in art nouveau fashion. We slept like logs! 100% worth it, and a great value! I sure hope to be back one day for longer!

We loved our time on Christian's stunning plot of land! The common kitchen area was well stocked and a fantastic place to socialise with the other guests. The tent we rented was very spacious and a perfect place to rest at the end of a beautiful day in the area. Christian was very accommodating with our requests such as lending us his portable toilet and was fun to hang out with around the fire pit in the evening. Would definitely recommend and consider returning!

The tent was a bit different than the pictures, quite smaller but still comfy none-the-less The queen bed they had in there may have been one of the comfiest I've slept in, my friend even said the cot was awesome too! For sound sensitive people, this place is near quite active railroad tracks so may be a good idea to bring some ear plugs!

Weekend Trip to Woodland at The Shamba

This property felt very private for us! There’s a 2 minute walk down the trail to the tent area, pretty easy to get your stuff there if you’re used to trail walking. Lots of fresh fruit and granola bars provided for us! The toilet is very simple but clean and fine for a couple nights. We brought all the necessary camping equipment minus a tent and sleeping bags. You will need outdoor chairs, a stove, cooler and other camping essentials. This was pretty obvious given the description and reviews so don’t be shocked when it’s just a bed and table! Overall we really liked the area and the tent and bedding were clean and very comfortable, had a great stay!

The tent was as beautiful as in photos. It’s equipped with everything you need, from fan, to heater, and even head lamps. The mini fridge even had a small freezer space. The river right across is amazing, we were even able to catch some rainbow trouts. The hosts were very welcoming as well. Will definitely come back!
