Bear Spring Eco Retreat
We spent a wonderful weekend at the end of September at Bear Spring Eco Retreat . The sky was free of cloud both night allowing us to enjoy the skylights. We had magical mornings waking up above the fog nested in the valley. The view was amazing. The hosts were fantastic. My kids spent a lot of time petting Bella. Great place to unwind.

We loved everything about this amazing place! Solita and Burke are most welcoming and have done everything necessary to have a wonderful experience at their eco retreat. The tents are well furnished and the beds are so comfortable. The communal area is well stocked and a great place to visit and cook. Although our stay was too short to enjoy the solar showers they looked to be very spacious. Their vision for the future makes us want to return to this place time and time again if possible. Could not recommend Bear Spring Eco Retreat more!

Solita is a gracious and thoughtful host. The property is majestic. Great place for couple's getaway or a gathering of friends or a single retreat. Fabulous rustic amenities for your home away from home. Bella and Pepper the Glamp canines will greet you with much love and affection. The Glamp Tent is spacious and comfortable. Solita decorated the tent with a comfortable bed and linens, a vanity, dresser with drawers, night table, chair and flash lights. Turn your electronics off and enjoy the starry night sky and the chirping of crickets.

"Glamping" at the Bear Spring Eco Retreat was fun! The location is beautiful and sleeping under the stars in the comfort of a real bed was awesome! It was nice to see all the kitchen amenities, really all you need to do is bring your food, they have utensils, plates, pots & pans, bbq, and griddle. You can also have food delivered from the local restaurant called The Dam Inn. One thing is we should have brought ear plugs as Bella the dog did wake us up several times during the night keeping the bears away. Kind of a bitter sweet I guess. Otherwise, enjoyed ourselves very much.

This is an amazing place to unwind! Solita and Burke are gracious hosts. I stayed in one of the tents and it was delightful. The stars at night, a cool breeze … perfect.

The experience at Bear Springs Eco Retreat exceeded expectations. The beds and view make it the best outdoor hotel I have experienced. The tent was in top notch condition and provided not just a wonderful comfortable bed, but also an amazing view of the stars. The barn kitchen provided everything needed needed to cook up a tasty meal, and the herb garden added a wonderful flavour. The location nestled between Nelson and Castlegar provides everything within a reasonable drive. The owners, Solita and Burke, were wonderful and kind. Happy to provide any assistance as needed.

Only stayed for one night, and wish we stayed for more, Will be back for sure. My son and I spent the night and Solita was a fantastic host, the directions were great and the tents and facilities are just amazing. We loved our companion dog Bella she was a treat. Thank you Solita for a great stay. And a wonderful experience.

I loved the view from Solita's property of the river! It was wonderful to look through the top of my tent and see the stars at night. She has a great set up, and I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first yurting experience. The host Solita was extremely welcoming and helpful by suggesting nearby activities. The yurt itself was super homey and the bed was even more comfortable than my own! So much fun to star gaze at night . Cooking area has everything you need to allow you to pack light. Quiet and peaceful. Would be ideal for a group type camping experience.

my boyfriend and myself went to this retreat for a weekend away after school. the beds were super comfy and the tents were so cute! solita and her family were very sweet and gave you everything that you need to make your trip very special! solita recommended a very beautiful hike right on the property highly recommend! this was a lovely little vacation.

Had the best time staying at Bear Spring Eco Retreat. Solita has thought many small details. The tents themselves are cosy, with a vintage touch. Was nice staying close to Nelson but in a more peaceful tranquil environment.

We went to Bear Springs Eco Retreat for our 25 th anniversary. We could not have asked for a better location. Solita and her family treated us as though we had known them forever. This place is a true paradise in the mountains.
This place is fully set up. All you need is your pj’s a change of clothes and food. I also highly recommend considering this for your next family reunion or any smaller gathering you are planning.

We had a wonderful night at Bear Spring Eco Resort! The full moon walk was absolutely beautiful (stunning to see flowers and mushrooms on the forest floor at night) and we had a great nights sleep in our glamping tent (mattress was super comfortable). We loved all the creative details Solita has added including her original artwork, a beautiful banner made from doilies and rustic, refinished furniture. The full moon lit up our tent so we turned off the adorable solar patio lights inside and enjoyed the unique atmosphere the tent creates. We loved hearing the birds and taking a brisk outdoor shower with stunning mountain views in the morning. The vegetation is absolutely incredible and very unique as it’s situated in a rainforest!

What a GEM of a place!
Every little detail and care was taken to ensure we were comfortable and welcome. The views, tents and their amazing dogs Bella and Pepper made for a really great experience and the fireside chats and stars at night just pure magic!

We had a wonderful time with Solita at the Bear Spring Evo Resort. The location was beautiful and had beautiful views. We had our 6 and 8 yr old kids with us and even though kids are welcome and felt welcomed, it would be better suited to couples. The yurts were gorgeous and beautifully furnished. The bed was really comfy and at night I could watch the stars and read my book with the cosy solar lights. The event space that we used on occasion was absolutely stunning. We played some of the board games, used the firepits. Cars are kept in the lower area and walking up to the tents is a little strenuous, so pack light and enjoy a wonderful glamping experience.

Bear Spring Eco Retreat is a fantastic camping experience as it is now, and the vision of what the owners plan to shape it into.
It's easy to find, and you truly only need to bring clothes and food.
The beds are so comfy and warm, fire pits, grills, a gorgeous herb garden we were welcome to make use of, a kettle for our bodum of morning coffee, recycling & composting bins, a gorgeous night guard called Bella, and hosts that were open & inviting.
The hill up to the yurts is considerable, so if you have accessibility concerns, best to have a conversation with the owners before booking. I didn't love the porta potties (who does??) but they were clean and maintained.
Five Stars to Bear Spring Eco Retreat! I look forward to my return :)

The glamping tents are beautifully decorated and cosy, we fell asleep to the sound of crickets and frogs and woke up to my the sound of songbirds with a view of be e the valley from our bed. Solita and Burke really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome and even took us for a hike to a nearby peak on the property for a nice view over the valley and Nelson.
The event space was a real standout and it was amazing to find out that they had built it almost entirely from recycled materials from the property. Will definately be back one day for one the future events there!

This is a beautiful spot tucked away just outside of Nelson, I was the only person staying at their campsite this night so had it all to myself. The firepit is in a great location with a scenic river/mountain view of the surrounding area. I would love to come back with some friends for a longer stay! Solita was a friendly host and was very informative with a tour of the property after I had arrived. It looks like they still have some aspects of the property in the works, but it is coming together and I'm sure will be amazing once it's all done. Note that it's a 5 minute walk uphill on grass from where you park, so hand luggage is necessary.

The experience at Bear Springs Eco Retreat was amazing. The views were spectacular. The amenities including the kitchen and the hall were exactly as described. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and when we wanted to make a trip, Solita had recommendations that only a local could offer. The tent was beautiful and the stars at night brought a calming close to the day.
