All separate for your individual group- you won't see anyone else. 25minutes from Wollombi or Broke. Come and enjoy the noises of the bush and the clear night skies with no close human neighbors. Great for couples, families or larger groups or just come alone to enjoy the bush.
We (Brian and Sally) have been re-vegetating the land and living here sustainably being “Off Grid” for over 45years, surrounded by bush with 3km of Stockyard creek meandering through the valley. HOT and dry summer so the creek is not flowing at present. We would love to share this paradise with those wanting to get away from wifi and the hustle and bustle of city life. (for emergencies we have satellite phone) Children under 4yrs are free. Dogs welcome but kept on a lead during the evening.
No leeches and No ticks in this area. NO close neighbors. Perfect spot to pitch your tent or set up your camper in the valley. Lots of sunshine and lots of shade. Easy dirt road access (6km) Some sites require/recommend 4WD -some 2WD is fine. Check with us before booking if needed.
Come and take advantage of the Wollombi Valley's beautiful scenery and atmosphere. Sit and relax or get adventurous and explore the area. The historic village of Wollombi is only 25 minutes away, and has cafes, shop, museum and the Wollombi Tavern. The popular Broke and Pokolbin wine regions are a short 25-40 minute drive away in the opposite direction. Yengo National Park has some wonderful look out spots-great to drive to Finchley lookout to watch the sun set or check out Aboriginal art sites.
No guarantee but...You may see wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goanna's, kookaburras, bower birds, lyre birds, superb blue wren, gang gangs, black cockatoos and so many other native birds/creatures.

Located on a working property in the Hunter Valley, amidst beautiful vineyards and picturesque scenery, 15 minutes from Pokolbin, 30 minutes from Singleton or Cessnock, 20 minutes from historical Wollombi.
We have vans and cabins on site for permanent accommodation. All prices include water, Wi-Fi and electricity. We also have powered and non-powered short term sites. Water is not potable.
There are numerous cellar doors and restaurants within 1 - 12 kilometers where you can dine and taste the finest food and wine in the district.
Pokolbin is 15mins to the east where you can visit Harrigans Irish Pub, numerous cellar doors and restaurants.
Singleton is about 30mins to the north and has a large shopping centre and many other attractions.
Cessnock is about 30 mins to the East, has a population of over 20,000 people and excellent facilities including a private airport.
Newcastle is about 1.5 hrs drive away and has a commercial airport and many other facilities of a large sea side city.
Wollombi is about 20min drive to the South and is one of the first areas settled in after Sydney. It has many items of historical significance including jail, museum, post office and Wollombi Tavern, the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice.
Sydney is about 2.5 - 3 hours south.

There are no nearby shops so be sure to bring everything with you. The property offers over 100kms of bush tracks ideal for walking, push-bike riding or 4WDing. On site-horse riding is available, offering rides ranging from 1hr family rides to full day experienced rides. Check out our website for a full list of offerings.
The Communal camping area is within walking distance of our amenities block, which offers flushing porcelain toilets and a hot shower. Bush campsites are fully self-sufficient, BYO (bring your own) water and toileting system. All campers are required to take their rubbish home with them as there are no bins on site. Sites available for all vehicle types, from buses and large caravans to fully kitted out off-road vehicles.
We offer a self check-in service with full maps and directions, which means you can arrive anytime you like.
Free early check-in and late check-out: Check-in anytime from sunrise and check-out anytime before sunset so you can make the most of your getaway.

Cranky Rock camp is fantastic! Even though it was the end of a long weekend when I arrived and there were plenty of other campers, the sites are all very large and there is plenty of room for all. The facilities (composting toilets) are clean and well maintained. Communication pre-arrival was excellent. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.

We really loved camping on Brian and Sallys farm- the spot was totally private, beautiful scenery on the farm and surrounding area with lots to do, but most importantly it was very peaceful and amazing not having wifi/signal to totally unwind. Loved seeing lots of wildlife including wombats!
Both Sally and Brian were so welcoming and showed us around the hives and invited us in for a lovely chat!

A beautiful stay for anyone in need of a reset in the bush. Private campsites all with their own unique qualities, surrounded by the orchestra from the bush. We enjoyed exploring the nearby bush and caves dotted around the campsite and property. Brian and Sallly were also welcoming and accommodating hosts, who we chatted with and introduced us to their bees. We can't wait to come back. P.S. the honey is delicious

We had a truly wonderful barbecue and camping experience here. At night, we could see the Milky Way, which was absolutely stunning. Each campsite is very spacious and well separated, giving everyone a real sense of privacy in the forest.
The campground has toilets and provides plenty of water, which made the stay very comfortable. One important thing to note is that there is no mobile signal starting quite far from the campsite. It’s a good idea to keep two navigation apps running. We accidentally closed one near the end and couldn’t reconnect, and even with just one junction left, it was hard to know which turn to take. We took a wrong road and eventually found our way after some trouble.
Despite that small challenge, it turned into a beautiful and memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature, stargazing, and a peaceful forest setting.

What a beautiful spot. Always loved Wollombi. At first a little scary to enter over a small bridge over swollen creek ( due to all the rain) towing a 6.2 m caravan but Lindsay guided us in and was so lovely. Took us all the way to our site. Pam and Lindsay checked on us, on our last night and reassured us the creek had gone down and we could leave via the river crossing. Lovely surroundings and quirky spots of interest.

This is our second time staying here in summer and it is just the most perfect campsite. It has it all - privacy, a beautiful healthy dam to swim in, plenty of shade from trees and the handy leanto for wet weather. There is tank water, tables and chair, a massive fire pit and plenty of fire wood.

What an awesome place to have a break! Hosts are brilliant, we were taken to our super secluded site in the middle of the bush, with its own toilet 👍🏻 and fire pit! We also purchased some of their delicious resident honey. We will be back for sure!

We were greeted welcomingly by the host, Cath, and her friendly dogs. We were then shown to the camp site- it was quite private and very much in nature. It was quite warm the days we were there for, so we were glad the camp site was set in a shaded area to keep us cool. The sounds of birds and other wildlife were lovely to hear, especially at night with the frogs and insects. Our dog had a blast walking the trails nearby as well as swimming in the dam. Highly recommend. Just make sure to bring your insect repellent and you’re all set!

Lovely spot. The shade was perfect for the hot days. The kitchen made things much easier and was a good hideaway for the kids when we got a heavy storm with hail. The undercover seating area was helpful too, just be aware it is not weather proof. There was no water in the river unfortunately which made the hot days hard but a quick 15min drive to St Albans was perfect for a dip and a drink at the pub. Just to note - large dirt/dust area which became a mud pit with rain. Watch for low lying areas when pitching your tent as they all flooded with rain. We loved our stay and would recommend. I imagine this would be a great winter camping spot!
