Guests have direct access for swimming to Webbs Creek this area is a shared area. Camp Bunya is a private campsite for group bookings. We offer our site to guests who want privacy and seclusion, enjoy the great outdoors and choose to make a little extra noise without upsetting the neighbours. Water access for swimming is available at your own beach. Toilets and shower amenities are provided. There is no power or cooking facilities, however a BBQ can be provided for hire. The campsite features mowed areas for camping with a large undercover area with a fireplace.

We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available at the front and back section. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. No cats allowed. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.  The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.  Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves. Please go straight ahead on Collins Ave and enter through the car entrance, NOT the truck entrance which is off to the right. If you come in the truck entrance I can't see you. There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people. You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore. The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. There are fire drums available on each site, most with grill plates - subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. There are three communal flushing toilets and two awesome hot water showers! ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week Thurs-Sun, just 10kms up the road providing last-minute supplies, ice, bottle shop, and cafe services. Weekend Trip to Hawkesbury Hideaway

Overall, the experience was great. John, the owner, was very accommodating and thoughtful—he even checked in to see how we were doing. He kindly lent me his toolkit to fix my broken tent, which I really appreciated. The only downside was that there was just one toilet. Thankfully, there weren’t too many of us, so it wasn’t a major issue.

It's a lovely spot. Site 1 is separate from the rest and is on a little hill under the trees, surface isn't grassy. We thought there wasn't too much level ground due to this, but in the end it wasn't a problem. A horse was wondering around at night. We came back for another night due to the convenient location not far from Sydney.

Great stay at Wywurri2 property. Must be self contained. As others have said Site 1 is seperate to all other sites so very private. But the sites are huge so good distance between campers. We had site 8 which was in the middle, but noone close to us. A bit slopey & grass overgrown so an outdoor matt would be good. Quiet & peaceful. Can have camp fires. Will definitely return.

It is such a hidden gem! The setting is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, with plenty of space to set up camp and enjoy nature. Steve, who helped us during our stay, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even treated us to some of his amazing brownies, which were an absolute highlight. Definitely a place to unwind and enjoy great hospitality!

Weekend Trip to Halifax Hill

A great little camp site that's not too far from the city, but far enough to make it feel like you are really out in the country. Had a very relaxing time here, and the birdsong in the morning was spectacular. A couple of great dining options in the village a short drive away as well, if that's more you thing.

A great spot close to Sydney but feels a million miles away from the busyness. The river was a perfect height and strength for the kids to paddle and play all day. The toilets and showers were really good for the location, fire pits were well positioned and the communication from Yara was really helpful and accurate. We’ll certainly be back.

Weekend Trip to Fern Valley Ranch

This is such a beautiful and precious hip camp. The people that run the farm are so lovely and very accomodating. They do tours on weekends and take you to their animals. /teach you about the farm and its history. There is a really lovely waterfall and walk and the orchards are beautiful to walk around with tasteful oranges! The funds raised from the hip camp goes to the Rotary charity in many countries it is a very cool concept. We would highly recommend checking this out!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawkesbury Hideaway, the facilities were great and John and Toni were very welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to the river and the wide open sites!

Perfect spot for a little getaway. 1.5 hours from south west Sydney. The place is very grassy and has not dirt which was very nice as when it rained, it was not muddy. Met John on arrival and he was very welcoming. Access to the river was very easy.

1 night at “Wywurri 2”

My second visit here and it was lovely as always. Site 1 is my favourite, as it’s set away from the other campsites and totally private. It also has a table and chair set up, so it saves having to set up my own furniture. There’s also plenty of shade on site 1 and is a nice spot to watch the horses running about.
