There are 4 main camping areas, The Forest Camp, The Creek Camp, The Mountain Camp and The Overflow, each offering something different. We have smaller sites, suitable for a couple, a family or a few friends through to larger sites for groups and all sites have been levelled for a comfortable stay. We cater for all forms of camping including tents, camper trailers and caravans. The campground is accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles and firewood, ice and drinking water is available from our office. We are only a 30 minute drive to many local attractions located around Stanthorpe and Killarney. We are a pet-free campground.

Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Branch Creek forms the southern boundary of the property while Tenterfield Creek is the western boundary. The property has a number of granite ridges. There are many popular wineries in the region, while Tenterfield has some great cafes and pubs, excellent shopping and is home to the Tenterfield saddler. For nature lovers and bushwalkers, Boonoo Boonoo and Bald Rock National Parks are a short drive up Mt Lindesay Road. Camping areas are accessible by a normal sedan type vehicle. We want our property to provide a peaceful retreat for those using it: - no hunting, motorbikes or 4WDing permitted. We are an off grid location so campers will need to bring their own shower/toilet/water and take all rubbish out when leaving. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground. We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general. Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there. The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150. Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW! There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals. 13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out! No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds. On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.

Wallangarra General store also make country pizzas on a Friday night. Provisions can also be obtained from the general shops and supermarkets in Stanthorpe or Tenterfield both of which are approximately 20-minute drive North or South of our location. There are more than 50 Wineries in this region, and every taste is catered for whether you prefer Red or white. There is also a specialist distillery where you can sample and purchase many liqueurs. "Mckenzie Glen" and offers a private camping experience for families and their dogs. The camp allows for self contained tent campers and caravans, camp trailers or RVs. We only allow 1 group at a time, so there will never be any other guests on the property whilst you are there. So once it is booked, the place is entirely yours. For example, if 3 families would like trip away with the kids, it will be exclusive to your group. There is a plentiful supply of firewood around the block that can be collected, if there isn't a load already near the fire. A load of wood is normally replenished once a month and left next to the firepit. There is very limited mobile phone reception along Eukey Road and it is almost non-existent at the camp. Which is great if you want a digital detox! However, there is a way you can still be connected and these details can be provided upon request. There is no toilet... yet. We do sometimes dig a drop toilet but this is not available all the time and it moves frequently. There is a small post hole digger with a bottomless bucket toilet (more affectionately called "Chainsaw") set that you can dig a hole for a toilet and a cage that gives some privacy (see the photos). But please make sure you fill it in with your finished and all the toilet paper is buried at least a foot under the ground. It gets it name from the rodeo bull "Chainsaw" because if you dig the hole too wide and can last 8 seconds on the seat, you're a legend! SO good tip for campers if you want to use it. A favourite thing to do at the camp is to have sundowners on what we call the "Zen Rock". It is a large rock formation about 100m the east of the camp. You can't miss it. There is an incredible amount of bird life around and a family of magpies live in trees just near the camp kitchen (they are friendly). You will often be woken by the Kookaburras and see the gorgeous Rosella's cruising around picking at grass seed. McKenzie Glen provides a swag deck that is large enough for 2 double swags side by side. There is a fully fitted camp kitchen which includes a gas stove. Our point of difference is that for a family who can’t afford all the kitchen camping equipment etc - you will have 'most' of the luxury's of home. You will need an esky for your food and drinks. There is no power, however the kitchen has a small fixed 12 volt system that will run the small pump for the kitchen and the lights. You'll see the switches. There may also be some cattle on the property, they are agisted by my lovely neighbours. They are usually weaners or cows and calves. McKenzie Glen - Granite & Eucalypt Camp is a stones throw of the Girraween National Park, a number of Granite Belt wineries and it is not too far down the road is Storm King Dam where (now that its full) is great for fishing and kayaking and boating. The area used to be mined for Tin. Keep any eye out for lumps of granite rocks on the ground and if your lucky enough you might find some with flicks of tin. If you hold the rock up to the light you can see the fecks shine in the light. If you are a coffee lover like me, there is St. Jude's Cafe down the road on the New England Highway at Ballandean. I highly recommend popping over to Ballandean Estate Wines on Sundowner Road, they've been making wine since 1932. The smell of the food coming from their Barrel Room Restaurant will draw you in even if you're not hungry (you can book a table on line so you don't miss out). And if you like a good country pub meal and a cold beer, then the Ballandean Tavern is the go. Both St. Judes and the Ballandean Tavern are only 8.8km from the camp. To the North of the camp, this bushland is a declared bushfire zone. To stay aware of radio broadcasts, the local ABC channels are 104.9 (ABC radio) 103.3 (Triple J).

These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. There is an upgraded 12km mountain bike/walking track that allows you to take a cool walk or ride in the forest. Follow the pink ribbon trail! On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. Look for the pink ribbons that mark the trail. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

This was a beautifully kept open space camping spot just outside Deepwater township. Duncan was a great host. The property boasted lots of walking and rocks to climb for the kids as well as a few free roaming sheep and chickens, plus a cheeky horse. The bathrooms were amazing. Great spot. Shame we only had one night.

Lovely campsite. The river was very low due to dry season but the views are still nice. Facilities are clean and in good order. Note you need $1 per shower usage in coins an we had to wait for reception to open to get coins.

It’s so beautiful here. Tranquility at its finest. Water was so clear , cold but refreshing. This is a great place to go and forget the rest of the world exists. You can go gold panning down the road. Into town for a pub feed . Or just chill .

‘The Park’ at Mindoo was an amazing spot for our family group. It was a special place. We enjoyed the scenery and quiet but also the opportunity for adventure! The children loved exploring up and down the river. The site was so well kept, we’ve already decided we need to come back!

Amazing experience, gorgeous sunsets. We had it to ourselves for a week! Stayed in the long paddock with our 9m caravan and there was plenty of space for it. We will stay again next time we’re out in the granite belt.

Mindoo was such a beautiful property. So peaceful beside the river, conveniently located a short drive from Tenterfield and the fact they supply firewood for a donation is really quite unique. The toilets and the rest of the property is extremely well maintained. Prue was very friendly and communicative. We'll definitely be back!

A real gem in the New England Tablelands and an excellent base for exploring Girraween National Park. We stayed here for four days, and as two ecologists, loved the peace and quiet, bird life, the sweeping views of the granite peaks, and the incredible Milky Way nights. Andrew, the owner, was lovely to meet and has clearly put a lot of care into the place. The on-site hikers hut and bathroom add a welcome level of comfort, especially for a remote stay. The hut has an enclosed loft-style layout with a table, chairs, shelves, sink and bench space, and the bathroom includes a hot shower and drop toilet. There is also plenty of room to set up your own gear (we booked the entire site for ourselves but up to 14 pax is allowed). We recorded 80+ bird species during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the remnant vegetation across the property. A beautiful spot and definitely worth visiting.

An absolutely beautiful spot up on top of the hill with amazing views in every direction. Brad's son kindly delivered some firewood for us and we enjoyed a fire in the evening with an incredible sky above. Highway noise was there but distant enough that it wasn't a bother. I would definitely stay here again
