Our campground is nestled amongst 200 acres of farm land where campers are welcome to stretch their legs and witness the beautiful views of the Tinderry Mountains from the hill tops. Along the way say hi to the cows and our beautiful Clydesdale.
The Michelago General Store is only a hop skip jump away, where you can treat yourself to a barista made coffee, warm homemade meal or restock food supplies. The Petrol Station is also only 100m down the road.
Camp fires are welcome within the fire pits, but please bring your own wood. All fires must be put out at night and before you leave.
A portable camp toilet can be provided upon request.
All we ask is that you respect and enjoy our farm as much as we do.

An Angora goat and slashed tracks to access the beautiful 130 acres around the farm.
The small village of Michelago is 5km from our property, has the fuel servo and a terrific General Store, which serves great burgers and milkshakes plus much more. 20mins to the town of Bredbo with its own pub is great for counter lunches and dinners.
The Town of Cooma, the gateway to the Snowy mountains is a 40 min drive south.
Also if you want to go camping with friends and introduce them to the great outdoors and they don’t have the gear ask about our hire service of all things needed to have a great camp, some are listed but more is always available to hire, just send me a message.

We are excited to offer rustic accommodation on the farm, perfect for those wanting to enjoy the tranquillity of country life, a drink at the campfire, bush walks, fishing in our large fresh water dam or as a base to explore the Snowy Mountains.
You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers.
A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required.
Please also note:
- Arriving time is strictly between 2pm and no later than 8pm at night .
- Checking out time is 12 pm.
- The driveway from the highway to the site is a gravel road suitable for 2WD however please drive according to conditions
- The site is located near the farm sheds, whilst we will respect your privacy you will be staying on a working farm consequently some movement and noise will not be avoidable between 8am and dark.
- You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children.
- We provide firewood at an extra cost of $20/bundle
- As there is no council bin service available we ask that you take your rubbish with you.
- Full telephone signal available for Telstra, however, any other provider is patchy.
- Please note that there are farm dogs on the property, and no other pets are allowed.

Bush camping on 100 acres in the Tinderry Range at about 1400 metres altitude. Seclusion and adventure all within an hour of Canberra and twenty minutes from Michelago and the Monaro highway. Big skies and dark nights for star-gazing are likely; or perhaps you'll be nestled in cloud; or hidden by falling snow. There are numerous tracks with spectacular views around the property for bush walking or mountain bike riding. The tracks are surrounded by sub-alpine flora and fauna (such as wallaby's, wombats, lyrebirds)
and nearby in the Tinderry Nature Reserve.
Tinderry Range is a rugged range east of the Monaro highway accessed mostly through Michelago or an hour and a half from Braidwood (when dirt roads are reasonable). The range is only around 70km away from the coast, thus enabling a sea mist to often roll over us in the late afternoon. Summer temperatures are a pleasant 6 degrees or so cooler than nearby Canberra.
You may choose between a number of options for camping depending on your camping desires and set up. There are numerous tracks around our property or nearby Tinderry Nature Reserve. You may go exploring to find the springs or choose to stick to easy walking tracks that follow the contours. We will provide a map. Tracks are also great for mountain bike riding and exploring the unusual mix of sub-alpine, montane and coastal flora and fauna. There is numerous species of bird life and regular calls from lyre birds.
This area has fascinating history with the largest eucalyptus distillery in Australia until the late 1950's and very popular with a number of bushrangers such as the Clarke Brothers who had numerous hideouts.
No amenities. BYO camping toilet and leave no trace. Campfires (except on fire ban days or when we advise otherwise) are okay--usually recommended. Normally dry firewood is easy to find, or purchase some from us if you prefer. The exception is the bell tent glamping option,' Tin Can Ridge Glamping' which has a toilet included as well as firewood and shortly its own wood stove!
Some campsites are best accessed by 4WD, or on foot. or gain access to the glamping tent with us escorting you.
Camp lightly. No hunting. Do nothing illegal. Take all waste with you. Respect the land, the wildlife and people. Keep the peace. Enjoy.

Respect all our animals at all times. We have zero tolerance for disrespect for our farm animals.
This includes off leash dogs and allowing your dog to go too close to the farm animals especially the Alpacas.
Please leave no trace. Take all waste away with you, during your stay and when you leave.
Be considerate of other visitors.
Feel free to use the fire pits provided by the farm. You can purchase excellent firewood from the staff or bring your own. The scattered branches on the farm can be picked up and used at will.

A beautiful quiet location to stay. Close to a lot of amenities, such as Bakery, Wineries, Gundaroo, Mulligan's Flat Reserve and Gunghalin shops.
Sutton has a world class bakery, we recommend chicken and leek or pepper steak pies. Gundaroo has an old world pub with local wines and food. The old police station at Gundaroo has been converted to a gourmet pizza restaurant, there is also an excellent restaurant named Grazing. There is also Eagle Hawke pub, which is very popular. There are numerous wineries nearby including Gundog at Gundaroo and all of the many Murrumbateman wineries.
Water refill and waste disposal is available at Queanbeyan showground.
The Mulligans Flat Reserve, about 10 minutes away, is a real first in Australia, given that a very large area has been set aside near Canberra to foster wildlife. A walk through the reserve is well worth while. Check it out.
None of the above should be missed if you visit our area.

Or lay in some of the creek's rock pools and sunbathe.
Whilst we can accept dogs, this absolutely must be discussed with us prior to booking. We are a working farm, with sheep, and it is important that any visiting pets do not hassle our sheep, and are kept on a lead at all times.

Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family.
Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990.
Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food.
If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season.
With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs.
This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow.
The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock.
There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower.
Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use.
We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses.

What can I say. Me, three kids and a dog stayed here for a a week or so, in the Two Trees Campsite.
Unbelievably beautiful. My favourite time of day was going for an off lead walk down to the dam with my furry girl and enjoying the space and peace.
The campsite was relatively flat and there was heaps of space for my boys to run around and play.
Sarah and her family were star hosts, letting the kids fees the sheep, taking us to the river and the creek, picking blackberries.
We used it as a base to travel into Canberra, to super easy to get in and out.
Would 100% recommend.

Amazing camping experience, both for us and the kids who enjoyed the animals, darm tour, camp fire and fresh eggs. We even got to experience annual alpaca shearing.
The landscape around the farm is really beautiful, it feels really remote but Canberra is only 15min drive. The toilets and the shower are good. Highly recommend it. We stayed 3 nights and had enough to explore in the area and on the farm.

Swan Farm is a scenic, relaxing and peaceful spot to stay. We had a lovely spot by the creek bed where we could enjoy the views surrounded by hills and farm views. This is a great place to stay with short drives into Canberra or Cooma. Carly was a fabulous host!

Well, you leave home to go away from home (duh !) but when you experience the welcome and friendliness of Carly and Andrew at Swan Farm, you still feel at home !.
Easy to find, friendly cows, great site, great views to the mountains and Jack and Diane will charm your socks off.
The land itself ? - flat, big, easy to peg into and as the description says, be self-contained and take all your rubbish out.

Loved the fantastic wide views across the valley, particularly enjoyed the mornings and late afternoons listening to the kookaburras and watching the colours of the hills change. The (10 year old) kids really enjoyed feeding the sheep, spending some time at the river and generally slowing down and roaming around enjoying the space in this peaceful setting. Sarah was a great host and couldn't be more accommodating. A great launchpad for exploring the area and Canberra, highly recommended.

A lovely open space for camping. The toilet and shower facilities are the best we have seen in our 4 weeks on the road. Margot and Michael are lovely and welcoming. Views from the top of the hill were nice.

Margot met us at the gate and was really warm and welcoming, even though we arrived a bit later than planned. The facilities were great—the showers were excellent and refreshing, the composting toilets were well-maintained, and the camping setup overall was just spot on. We’d definitely go back again.

Another lovely mini break at Coot’s Creek. A great place to chill out for a night and so close to Canberra you can even escape on a weekday evening. Made extra special by the fact it is dog friendly.

Flat site, quiet and we were the only ones there but felt safe. Didn't see the host which was new for us.
Easy to find, good location not too far from the highway or Canberra. Shops 10-15 minutes away. No close potable water to fill caravan tanks so plan ahead and stop in Queanbeyan or elsewhere. We'd likely stay here again if passing through!

Peaceful & quiet location.
You must be self sufficient, although there is a toilet nearby.
We saw birds, kangaroos & wombats.
A great place to unwind.

We loved waking up with the animals around the paddock. My kids really enjoyed the farm tour. Amenities were of high standards, flushing toilets and hot showers, highly accommodating for children. We would definitely be back next time we are in town

My little grandson and I loved camping for 2 nights at Yifu's place. When we arrived there were alpacas cooling off in the pond and geese honking their welcome. Yifu was extremely friendly and we enjoyed the farm tours led by his terrific son. We loved seeing the rabbits and guinea pigs. Missy the pony was lovely to pat and feed. My granny loved the playground, the cubbyhole and trampoline. It was a peaceful and very enjoyable break from Canberra. We will return! Big thanks to Yifu and his family for their thoughtful additions to our camping experience 🥰
