Briagolong Bush Getaways is 40 acres of peaceful bush land. Many, many moons ago the property use to be a tobacco farm. The original house use to be at the top camp site but was burnt down in the 1960's. A small cottage was then built and lived in for the next 10 years, while the original owner made mud bricks by hand and built the house, that is currently our home. All built by hand more than 42 years ago! Here, you have several fantastic camp areas to choose from, some with access to amenities, some for self-contained campers. We've also recently started offering the mudbrick house for rent! A great option for a warmer stay in the Victorian winter, or if you are a large group and some want to camp whereas others want more comfort.

While The Love Shack is a private cabin, perfect for intimate getaways for couples we also offer larger group bookings for extended family / and or friend groups with the need for a normal bedroom/bathroom option. The camping area around the cabin is suitable for tents/vans and can easiliy accommodate larger groups. There are three under cover areas for group camping use :- an outdoor kitchen area with sink, bench space and a full size fridge/freezer, an enclosed pen with an extra BBQ, There is a large covered area with a 100" pull down projector screen (bring your own projector for movie nights and fun). A full set of lawn games is also available. The Shack is a two night minimum stay and sleeps two. Extra guests are welcome in a tents/vans outside at an extra cost per person. The Shack has one bedroom with linen available as an extra, a small open plan kitchen with fridge, kettle and mini cooker. The living room features a little combustion woodfire heater. Camping enthusiasts can enjoy a level, grassy site with spectacular views across the Tarra River to the forest, or behind you across the paddocks. We are only 3 kms away from the Tarra Bulga National Park and 10 kms from the historic town of Yarram if you need any supplies. Woodside Beach, Welshpool and Port Albert are within easy reach too.

The state forest has many walking tracks that go on for miles, perfect if you want to go horse riding, motor bike riding or mountain bike riding or put on a pair of comfy walking shoes to hit the many walking tracks to take in the beautiful bush setting with the occasional wallaby or kangaroo darting out of the bush across your path. Close to all local attractions - Port Albert, Port Welshpool long jetty, Woodside's beautiful 90 mile beach, Tarra Bulga National Parks, spectacular Agnes Falls and Wilson's Prom. Our camp sites have plenty of room we don't believe in cramming too many campers on the same site, you have plenty of space of 1 acre or more. Suitable for large caravans, camper trailers, motor homes and RV's these can all can fit here easily. Sites 1 - 2 situated in a 4 acre paddock on the main farm. Perfect for small camper vans, roof top tents and motor homes, not suitable for tents due to open farmland unless you have them well anchored. Site 3-4 situated on part of a 7 acre paddock with views of the hills and of the kangaroos that come onto the paddocks of a night out of the Alberton West State Forest and the Stzeleckie Ranges. This site is perfect for larger vans, RV's, camper vans, roof top tents, motor homes. Not so suitable for tents due to the open farmland unless you have them well anchored. Site 5 - Situated behind Cypress trees which creates great shelter if we have an eastly blowing. Perfect site for large vans, camper vans, RV's, roof top tents and motor homes, not suitable for tents due to being open farmland unless you have them well anchored. View of the hills where the kangaroos come in of a night out of the Alberton West State Forest and the Strzeleckie Ranges. Campfires are permitted (When there are no fire bans). No loud music, bring a camping toilet with you and take all rubbish with you. You'll need to have your own amenities/be FULLY- self contained however if you don't have your own toilet, camp shower or fire pit you can hire them. We have an abundance of native birds on our property. Rosella's, Kookaburras, Wedge Tail Eagles and sometimes Galah's. Just down the paddock on dawn or dusk we have a mob of kangaroos that come out of the bush to graze on the paddocks.

Whilst it may feel remote and hidden, you are only a 10 minute drive to the town of Yarram. If you do need some essentials or another bottle of wine, shops are only a short drive away. If you're after a change of scenery, Tarra Bulga National Park is only 20 minutes by car. Known for their Mountain Ash trees, beautiful fern gullies and ancient myrtle beeches, it has some of the best examples of original cool temperate rainforests of the Strzelecki Ranges. If you've always wanted to swim in a waterfall then Minnehaha Falls at Hiawatha is for you. Only 15 minutes by car, the rocky waterfall with it's very own swimming hole will surprise and delight. There is a constant flow of water gushing down the near vertical rock face, into the pool below.
