We had a lovely stay at Tarra Valley Retreat. Even though it was Easter and the campground was full, we still managed to have a peaceful and relaxing weekend.
The campground is relatively small, and is set amongst beautiful giant eucalypts and lots of lovely green lush tree ferns, with the creek running along one side of the property. There is a big grassy area across the road with access to more of the creek.
The facilities were great. The bathrooms were clean, showers were hot, and there are a couple of little kitchen areas with kettles, microwaves, a fridge, and even a four-burner barbecue.
The Tarra Bulga National Park is close by, and has some really lovely short walks through the beautiful rain forest.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and we'll definitely come back again soon!

An absolutely beautiful and tranquil setting in the forest, feels so relaxing to be here. I love feeding the king parrots and the cabin has all the essentials. The mattress was really comfortable

What a great and beautiful site! Tucked away deep in the amazing rain forest, the site offers a quiet and peacuful area with beautiful scenery! And warm showers, that was lovely.

Beautiful spot to catch up with friends. The national park is so pretty. Beautiful walks, lovely waterfalls near by. Facilities were good and wifi was great as there is no phone reception.

Great little campground on a lovely healthy river, easy access to the suspension bridge rainforest walk in Tarra Bulga. Our older kids loved riding bikes around and fishing in the river. Saw an eel and freshwater crayfish. Friendly campers and friendly host. Clean and very welcoming facilities.

The whole place was really lovely, the ferns surrounding the camp were so pretty and the rustic kitchen and BBQ area were also charming and functional. We loved making a little camp fire in the fire bins provided and found our neighbours to be friendly. I liked the washroom facilities also.

Tarra Valley Retreat is such a beautiful place to camp. It’s limited in capacity, so it never feels crowded, and the amenities were top-notch - super clean and really well maintained. The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. We loved waking up to the sound of the river, swimming during the day, and firing up the BBQ by the river at night. The hosts who run the place are incredibly lovely and accommodating, and made us feel so welcome. Our dogs loved it too. We can’t wait to come back - we’ll definitely be booking again.

We absolutely loved our camping trip at Tarra Valley! The site truly delighted our senses – the aroma of burning wood, the stunning view of Tarra Valley, the lush ferns and the soothing sound of the river. The beautifully designed facilities and cabins were a huge plus. I’m thoroughly impressed and highly recommend it to everyone.

A small caravan park makes for a quiet & private area to stay. Amenities are basic & clean. Has great communal spaces; 2 huts with open fire facilities, a camp kitchen & laundry facility and children’s playground. An easy get to Tarra Falls & other forest walks.
The only downside was site allocation. Sites 1-7 are definitely only for tents, roof top tents or campers. The others are quite good caravan sites. While Hipcamp requests van size, this was not really considered for our booking. Placed on small site 5; very tight to get into and camped on a lean. Couldn’t stabilise van because ground was so wet all ramps & blocks sank into quick-mud. Aside from rolling out of bed was a pleasant park to stay.

Well maintained area. Loved that it is surrounded by the river, just few steps away! Just be careful of the narrow roads towards the retreat especially when doing turns. Will definitely be back.
