91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season.
It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season.
The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

This area is also popular for 4 wheel driving and there are plenty of tracks in the nearby state forest if you have the correct gear, vehicle and an appreciation for the wilderness.

We are 1 hour East of Melbourne along the M1, (and a couple of kms off the M1). Situated in West Gippsland. Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses and very close by you can enjoy the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the (mostly) lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. Other attractions in the area are Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries.
The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, not really ‘swimmable’, a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family and folks, we also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet - mainly seen at dawn or dusk.
Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans, tents or trailers (under 10 metres) in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your own group.
If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space.
As a reminder, all campers will need to be Self Contained as we have no toilet facilities, no access to fresh water, cold showers only and no cooking facilities.

The camping area is easily accessed from maintained roads, where guests can drive in and park on the spacious lower paddock (no reversing or 3-point-turns necessary).
As this beautiful, secluded location is off-grid, guests will need to be Self Contained (BYO toilet/shower) and Leave No Trace.
If you would like to enjoy our property all to yourself, simply book two of the campsites, and send us a message and we will happily reserve the 3rd campsite for your group free of charge. Severe Weather and Bushfire: Please make yourself aware of bushfire or other severe weather warnings (e.g. ABC Emergency or Emergency Victoria) for UP-TO-DATE information, especially during the fire danger period.
Safety and Hazards: You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of those in your care. Hazards to be aware of: snakes, uneven ground, trees or loose/falling limbs (it is your responsibility to set up your camp in an area you deem free of hazards).
Flash flooding of Stony Creek (this is rare, however, please observe weather warnings at the time of camping). Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season.
It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. Other attractions in the area are Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries.
The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, not really ‘swimmable’, a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family and folks, we also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet - mainly seen at dawn or dusk.
Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans, tents or trailers (under 10 metres) in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your own group.
If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space.

On Total Fire Ban days strictly NO flames or sparks, no exceptions.
Other things to be aware of: No mobile phone reception. You might achieve some mobile phone reception if you head back up Gorge Road to Staughton Vale Road, though this is dependent on your mobile phone provider and cannot be guaranteed.
Please check, temporary closures to the Anakie Gorge and/or the Brisbane Ranges and trail access requirements. Before commencing on bush walks, check local weather and bushfire advice for planned burns and bushfire warnings and let someone know before you go. Plan ahead and hike safely.

Only 10 minutes away from the Western Freeway you'll find the Lerderderg Lookout hidden at the base of the Lerderderg State Park.
The property was titled in the 1970's and played host to horses and cattle over the early years before being rehabilitated and now being covered in a mixture of grass pastures and native bush.
The property continues to be a sanctuary to native wildlife and is maintained to an ongoing excellent standard. Walking and bike riding tracks are less than 5mins away as the property sits at the base of the Lerderderg State Park.

Nestled in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, an easy drive from Melbourne, our property Taloumbi is set on 10 acres of unique bushland populated with native grasses, ancient grass trees, indigenous wildflowers, wattles and eucalypts. Guests can look out for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas, whilst relaxing in the comfort of our cosy boho bell tent.
Our 5 metre bell tent has a queen bed with quality linen, electric blanket, bean bag lounge chairs, floor rugs, heater, fan, WiFi, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, kettle with a selection of teas, mini fridge, crockery, cutlery, glassware and towels. The private bathrooom is located in our rustic house less than 50 metres away (via an independent entrance). It includes a toilet, shower (over a bath) and a vanity, with fluffy towels and essential toiletries.
An à la carte vegetarian or vegan breakfast with "tent service" is included.
Guests are welcome to use our 10 metre swimming pool (in summer), chiminea and BBQ area with sweeping views of the valley below.

This is a gorgeous place, it’s quiet and secluded. There is a fence around the site which is great to have your dog off leash. The river is a lovely place to cool down and the little cottage is so cute. We enjoyed reading a few books and guides that gave us ideas of what to explore around the area. The site was clean and well

Caleb and Clara’s site is so thoughtfully set up! They brought out eggs, bread and wood fire (you can purchase for so cheap). We set our tent a little too far from the power source but Caleb loaned us an extra long lead!
It’s perfect for those of us who want an easy camp!
There is a drop toilet (the cleanest compost toilet ever!) You could hook up a shower if staying longer as the creek was low.
Safe to leave your belongings and wander off too.

It’s a privilege to stay at Casa Cucina! A beautiful space, which is easily accessible and flat to suit all types of camping. Chris is the perfect host, getting in touch ahead of check-in and giving us a warm welcome. Super easy to find and access.
The nearby Robin Hood Inn has a courtesy bus, which can come pick you up and drop you back again. Highly recommend a stay here.

We loved our camping experience here! Such beautiful scenery, lovely wildlife and wonderful feel camping in the vineyards. So much to do in Murrindindi and Toolangi state forests, and plenty of amazing places to eat and drink at your doorstep. Woke up to eagles roaming, hot air balloons in the distance, and lovely ducks on the dam. Thank you for a wonderful experience 😄

The gazebo, chairs and table are really good to have and mean you can pack even lighter!

Great place to set up camp for two nights. Very quiet and private. Close to wineries and Badger Weir. Great size and views. Loved the afternoon sun. Slept well here. Perfect for 2 vehicles 4 ppl and 1 dog. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again.

We had a beautiful, quiet stay at this riverside Hipcamp with our caravan. The site was peaceful and perfectly positioned beside the river, with the gentle sound of flowing water making it incredibly relaxing. It was easy to access, spacious and private, giving us plenty of room to set up and unwind. If you’re chasing a simple, serene escape, this spot is a gem.

Great location, quiet and serene. 20 minutes walk into town for Friday pizza night and karaoke! Gorgeous friendly goats who loved a head rub.
We camped here in February - I recommend bringing some kind of gazebo or marquee to give a bit of shade, as big shady trees are unfortunately not nearby the sites.

We camped just after summer school holiday peak season and we had camp 3 too ourselves with lovely views of the bay and islands.
You do need to be completely self sufficient but if you are setup for that this is perfect camp.
Quite a lot of birdlife and plenty of wallaby's around.
