Nestled in the valley of a 1000 hills and on the land of the Taungurung people, this little patch of hilly heaven is home to a small family of farm animals, dog and their two owners. With its rugged natural beauty, amazing sunsets and starry skies, it was hard not to want to share its beauty with others.
The property is the gateway to Murrindindi, has power and water for campers, a dam if you enjoy yabbying and perfect for intimate, small groups.
We offer a flat campsite and ridge top campsite.
Low gear and 4wd preferable during very wet months.

Campers are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.
Campfires are welcome but must be contained and campers must respect any restrictions in place at the time of their stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hugh’s this weekend. So much space between sites, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Although Hugh had offered us firewood - we loved wandering around the pines & gums and collecting firewood and pinecones ourselves. Close to town and amenities, but far enough away to feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. Would highly recommend.

What a great space for a classic family weekend away. We celebrated my 60th birthday here and we had plenty of space to hang out, even as the weather turned against us, a wood figured pizza oven, barbecue and a natural pool for that bracing autumn dip with a warm side pool which was super handy for kids needing to burn off energy. Loved it. Brendan was a great host and always helpful. Fantastic

We loved the quiet spot, with a flat grass field to park our van. No issues with a 2WD car. The owners were lovely, making us feel welcome and comfortable. My young daughter loved checking out the goats and playing on the little slide, while the older kids loved the close access to the mountain bike tracks.

We loved our stay at Foxes Den! The property was peaceful and nicely wind protected. Lovely to have a tree and a campfire at the spot, including firewood. Quite private as there is plenty of room between sites.
Camping with the bonus of a short drive to town and the beach. Had a great time and definitely plan to return.

I highly recommend Foxes Den, we will definitely be back. We had a great time!
The kids wandered the pine forests, had loads of space to kick the footy and fly a plane. We didn’t have bikes but they could have fun riding around. There is also a community bush kindy that is held on the property and my kids loved going for a wander to play and relax in the hammocks. It is very natural rugged play. The kids loved watching the wild rabbits and eagles fly over, some were huge.
The sites, although you could see the other campers, were very spacious, at night it was really peaceful. Each site had some log seats and a fire pit area with endless free wood chopped ready to use. Hugh met us at the property showed us everything we needed to know, he provided a 10lt bucket of water for fire safety. There was also plenty of water at the front of the property to refill our tanks. It is a little dry and dusty when the wind is present but nothing that worried us. I’d imagine mid autumn after a little rain would be great. We loved our time camping at site 3.

Second visit in 6 weeks and still excellent. Recent rain gave the paddock a bit of green which was welcomed.
Excellent location for restaurants, wineries, parkrun and more. Highly recommend, site 6 was perfect for our set up.

Great spot, really close to town and other amenities, but nice and peaceful. Plenty of space for kids to play and explore at Site 9 and access to the bulk firewood was excellent. Only trade off for the position at the back of the property was it seemed to be pretty windy at times, so if you’re camping don’t skimp on a decent tent.
