We camped at Callaghans Creek for a few nights after Christmas. It was the perfect spot for a big group with little kids- enclosed ish space, shallow Creek for splashing in, remote feeling but close drive to Mitta and Dartmouth. Grateful to the hosts for having us at such a special place. Toilet is required- as we were a big group we got a portaloo delivered through EBA hire in Albury, and that worked well. Note that some of the photos are of the mitta River- this site is not on the river, and we weren't aware there was river access at the property- but we did find some nice Mitta swimming spots along the Rd to Dartmouth. Lunch at the mitta brewery was lovely, and a swim at the snowy Creek in Mitta also very nice!

Our 25 acre HipCamp area is located safely within our 300 acre property which enjoys approximately 5 kilometres of pristine and private Murray River frontage in the beautiful rural city of Albury. Willowbank is a fourth generation cattle farm and when you arrive at Willowbank you will feel like you are a million miles away from anywhere but you are only 2.8km from the centre of Albury and 2.9km to Wodonga from our sites . We are less than 5 minutes away from the beautiful South Albury cafe and boutique shopping precinct; Ebden & Olive, Nannina's, Meraki, Platform 9, South Albury Take Away, Di Billet, Almar Organics, Sukor Wellness & Recovery, The Red Devil Brewery, Tucker on Townsend, Chic to Chic and more. We are also only 3.5km from Harris Farm Markets. Albury's public Dump Point at Albury Railway Station is less than 5 minutes away. Each of our camping sites is well away from each of the others and there is plenty of room at each site for children to play. The two best sites for swimming are The River Bend and The Willows. We encourage the use of life jackets for children in the water at all time. We have no toilet or shower facilities at any of our sites so you are required to bring your own toilet with you. All waste must be removed at the end of your visit. We have no access to drinking water and if you decide to use river water for drinking we do recommend that you boil the water. Swimming, floating, paddling in the Murray River is a sublime pastime. Please be aware though, that the Murray River has a very fast and strong current. Looking to hire a canoe, we recommend you contact Dave/ Murray River Canoe Hire (0417 691 339) for a canoe to paddle around your campsite or to do a beautiful canoe trip on the Murray River from Doctor's Point to Noreuil Park. It will take a few hours and yes you will go past your camp site! We do have an area to launch your motor or paddle boat or jet ski We are on the banks of the magnificent Murray River and all our three sites are absolute river frontage with uninterrupted views up, down and across the Murray River. Settled in the foothills of the Great Divide this 200 hectare working farm has available bush settings for camping. The property is adjacent to the Samaria State Park containing walking tracks and remnants of past logging activities. The Kelly Tree at Stringybark Creek is a short drive away. Also nearby is the Tatong Tavern which has a lovely country feel and serves meals seven nights a week. For film lovers the renowned Swanpool Cinema is a 15 minute drive away. Your campsite is nestled into a bush setting in a quiet corner of the property offering peaceful enjoyment of the sounds of the forest. The creek has several water holes suitable for fishing and swimming. Nearby attractions include Lake Nillahcootie and the historic township of Tolmie. Further afield there are wineries at Millawa and Taminick. Glenrowan township is close by and offers access to another wine region and the site of Ned Kelly's last stand.

The Witches Garden at Mitta Mitta

Our Callaghan Creek unpowered campsite is large enough for a big group and has access to water and shade. We also offer a large farmhouse located across the creek from the campsite which we offer on Air BNB so if you plan a big getaway with friends and some are not keen campers then our guest house might be a perfect option. It is a short walk through a ford in the creek from the camp site. Mobile phone coverage is possible if you are with Telstra as there is a Telstra tower not far away. Our Callaghan Creek camp is in a secluded and very pretty spot on our farm. Access is via a dirt track across paddocks and down a short steep slope to the creek. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times as farms can be dangerous places. There are large animals, snakes and deep water. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are allowed. All campers must have their own camping toilet and be self-contained.

Everton Hills Estate

Located in the undulating hills 10minutes from Beechworth and 1km from the rail trail junction at Everton station which you can travel up to Beechworth, Myrtleford/Bright or Wangaratta via bike or foot. We are also 5 minutes off the great alpine road which rolls through the township of Everton which has a general store with Victoria’s best thick shakes, a great little country pub and a service station. In the area you can expect terrific access to local wineries and gourmet restaurants in the region, tourist hotspots like Beechworth, the king valley and Mt Buffalo, Bright and the snow fields are also achievable for a day trip throughout winter and the Ovens river is only a short drive with several popular swimming holes or spots to cast a line in. There are 2 campsites on the property (Ovens and King), both accessible from the main driveway and signed for your direction. 4wd are recommended in the wetter months as access is via a typical paddock track. Both campsites are leave no trace so your own WC facilities are a must with all waste taken away with you. No power available at the sites either. Fires permitted in pits provided during the appropriate periods, and you can either bring your own wood or you can purchase for a small fee. Pets are welcome, i do have a Border Collie (Errol) who is friendly and may say hello. The property is fenced but I wouldn't say "pet proof" and the main gate is left open majority of the time, so please keep an eye on your furry friends. We also have a large mob of kangaroos that visit most evenings and mornings, we don't feed them and they wont bother you either, but they are welcome. Any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask either on here or in person during your stay, Errol and I look forward to having you stay.

We are situated smack bang in the middle of cropping land. Our 20 acres is developed and we boast a pool, spa, sauna and “man cave”. Horses are welcome at a nominal extra cost, but certainly welcome. The shed or man cave boasts hot and cold water and basic shower and toilet by arrangement ( you must be self sufficient campers) The bar is semi functional with an approach that anything in the shed is yours but replace what you have used. The shed has a good TV and fire which makes for fun times watching your team play It is a shed and would be best described as rough rustic but comfortable with a wood fire and rustic bar and comfortable lounge. The pool is clean and situated in a big yard in front of your camp. There is enough space for your camp set up and tow vehicle. Power is available to re charge by arrangement with the host. This camp suits the self sufficient campers for a couple of days or a stop over for the weary. Bundalong hosts horse events and of course is a skiing and fishing Mecca. Bundalong Tavern, Squires Winery and Watts in Bundalong are exceptional locations who cater for all tastes in food, craft, beer, and wine. Fires are encouraged within the law with some wood available at a minor cost. Fire pits are not provided at this stage. Campers are a short drive from Yarrawonga, Mulwala and Cobram. And an easy drive from Corowa, Rutherglen or an hours drive to the King Valley. We suggest Google these sites and plan your activities according to age, interests and taste.
