I had the best long weekend stay at Broken Creek. The campsite and property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. If you love animals like me, this camp has gorgeous free roaming animals and wild (like the platypus in the creek, or the possums, not to mention all of the native australian birds). The bungalow is fully stocked with any appliance or amenity you would possibly need. I felt very well looked after and cared for during my stay. I highly recommend this camp to any HipCamper and I would stay again

Thank you so much Carole and everyone for taking so much care of us and attention on such a cold night. They offered and started a fire due to our late arrival. Beautiful property and creek. Thank you again and hope to stay with you guys again.

The site was perfect! The ground was flat and spacious. It has a view of and access to the creek. We were able to relax and watch the kids while playing. Carole and Peter are amazing hosts! Very kind and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
Perfect spot to tent or van camp to get away from the city. We enjoyed meeting all the farm animals and feeding the baby goats. The camp spots by the creek are very relaxing and we were able to have a fire at this time of year.
By far the best hospitality from a Hipcamp that we have had to date. Delicious fresh bread, eggs and amazing Cobb dip. We also had a great pizza night.
Carole, Peter and Nathan made us feel so welcome. Lots to see and do around the area from hiking, wineries , art, great bakeries etc.
We had a wonderful stay at Carol‘s and Peter‘s lovely farm! Thank you so much for everything!
The Campsite 1 was very large and offered both sunny spots and plenty of shade. Well-equipped Camp Kitchen and good Toilet/Shower.
The place was very peaceful, we loved the farm animals and listened to the beautiful singing of the birds all day long. After nightfall we were lucky enough to see the Rakali!
The hosts are very friendly and helpful people.
We highly recommend this place!
Another excellent visit at this beautiful site. Nestled in a pocket bound by a bend in the creek under a dense tree canopy gives this site a real sense of serenity. Carole and Peter will pop by for a chat - always welcoming and friendly. Brilliant spot. We’ll be back (again after 4 or 5 previous visits).

We arrived on a 45 degree day, out of a car with no AC and windows up, thinking we'd be spending the day swimming in their creek and camping in the hot shade.
The creek is 30 cm deep and full of sticks and leaches - swims were not to be. But everything else far exceeded expectations. They were so generous and kind, welcoming us into their home and air conditioning, sitting with us for chats and painting watercolours in the garden, showing us their projects and animals. The farm is a delight. So picturesque.
They are artistic souls who seem to host out of a passion for connection, community and generosity in sharing their beautiful haven, rather than to make some cash.
We could have been happy their for days.

We loved our stay! Carole and Peter are so lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were greeted with a tour of the farm, fresh eggs and home grown veges. Peter took us out to see the stars one night too. The river site is picturesque and very relaxing. There were so many different and animals to look at and photograph. We also explored the local region and made trips to Benalla, Wangaratta and Glenrowan. If you want to get away from it all and relax, then this is a great place for you! 😊

Ein ruhiger Zeltplatz. Man kann am Morgen die Pfauenvögel hören. Wenn man Glück hat sieht man ein Schnabeltier im Bach. Witzige Ziegen auf der anderen Bachseite. Die Anfahrt ist gut zu finden.

Carole and Peter are wonderful hosts. We stayed on site 2, which is elevated above the Broken Creek. This site is best for people towing a caravan. Site one would be a challenge to get into for people towing vans as it is down behind the homestead, by the broken creek. The amenities on the property were awesome (toilet, shower, washing machine).
This is our 4th Hipcamp stay, and we weren’t disappointed.
Highlights: The serenity, the farm animals, access to the Broken Creek, centrally located: 15 minutes to Benella, an hours drive to other regional centres.
We loved our stay here ! We were treated warmly by Peter, and had a lot of room to set up our camp. Great access to toilets/showers/kitchen, and enjoyed the lovely site. Peter kindly showed us around the property, and we were able to feed the cow and sheep, and see the many other animals on their property. If you are looking for a farm stay, I would highly recommend !!!

The best! What welcoming and kind hosts! Very generous with their time, our kids didn’t want to leave. We didn’t spot the platypus, but the ambulance of bird life and farm animals made up for it. We will go out of our way to visit again

We loved camping here! Carole and her husband are lovely, and very accommodating. The amenities were fantastic, and we even got fresh eggs for the morning!

Carole was a friendly and generous host. I was given wood, eggs, oranges, spinach and even a salve for my sprained ankle. My camp site, situated at the bottom of their back garden, was right on the creek and felt like a bush setting. Plenty of animals -peacocks, geese, goats, chooks, to see, but not unfortunately the elusive platypus. But they did set up a TV documentary on platypus for to watch at my convenience. Definitely recommend their Farmstay.

We had a lovely stay on Carole and Peter's land. They were extremely warm and generous. The kids loved the animals and all the birds. It was great to camp next to the creek and we got to a quick glimpse of the platypus! Would absolutely recommend camping here with kids.
Fantastic site with extremely welcoming and friendly hosts. Great facilities and access to firewood. Caroline and Peter are genuine in their warmth and desire to make the stay the best it can be. I look forward to returning.

Carole and Peter are lovely hosts.
We stayed at Camp 1 which is a little nook down on the creek.
We couldn't see the other camp from our spot but the main homestead is close by.
The facilities are a short walk away (closer to Camp 2) and were clean with a camp kitchen, shower, drinking water and toilet.
We spent 3 nights by the fire watching the stars, and days by the creek under the trees watching the Birdlife (so many birds in that corner! Take your binoculars!)
Sadly, we didn't see the resident platypus but we did see the Rekali which was a first and very exciting.
Expect to meet the resident animals! We had visits from goats, sheep, dogs, peacocks and chooks!

So peaceful, quiet, comfortable and safe. Very well maintained property, spacious camping area with peaceful creek, great communal shower and kitchen area. Friendly geese, sheep, goats and peacocks that our children loved interacting with.
Carole and Peter were so welcoming from the moment we arrived, we truly would love to have stayed for longer.
We stayed at Camp 2, it's a little flatter and more open than Camp 1.
Both sites would be fine for tents, or in our case, a rooftop tent.
Vans and larger setups might be better suited to Camp 2. However, both camps are great looking.
There is a decent amount of distance between the two camps as well.
Their home is nearby, but we always had total privacy and wouldn’t have even noticed anyone.
Carole met us when we arrived to show us the site, explain the facilities, and give us a homemade focaccia, which was amazing.
We only needed the shower and toilet facilities, and they were all very clean and tidy.
There was a kitchen area as well, but we didn’t use it.
The campsite was level with great grass coverage and still a decent amount of shade around, with trees to sit under.
Fireplaces were available, along with some wood, but of course, this depends on the fire ban status on the day.
There are some goats, dogs, and a friendly sheep that roam around, all very friendly.
There’s also lots of birdlife, with many types around the river. On a clear night, the stars are amazing.
We’d be happy to stay again if we were in the area.

Carole and Peter are terrific hosts. Site is very secluded and if you are lucky you’ll see the local platypus. Everything is provided with free firewood. Highly recommended
