Kalimna Stud is a boutique warmblood horse breeding equestrian facility located on the Kiewa Valley Highway at Tawonga. It has spectacular views of Victoria’s highest Mountain, Mt Bogong, which is snow capped in Winter. The property also fronts the Kiewa River and provides a tranquil spot to relax and listen to the bird life, access for submerging yourself in its cool clean water or taking your chances in catching some Trout. The property is 11kms ( less than a 10 minute drive) to Mt Beauty for shops, restaurants and cafes. The property is well situated for daytime activities accessing the hiking trails on Mt Bogong, Mt Beauty and the Bogong High Plains as well as the Mountain Bike trails at Mt Beauty and Falls Creek. 1 Tent/Van per site. If you want to have a private group booking then you will need to book all the sites. Whilst we breed horses we do not provide on-site horse riding as our horses are purpose bred for competitive dressage riders. Patting horses over the fence is ok but please do not feed them. Trail riding activities are available at Bogong Horseback Adventures. If you would like to bring your own horse then we can provide stabling and yards at an additional cost.

Site 3 is a large fairly level grassy site next to the Kiewa River. It’s the last site and just past the river access area.

Site 1 is situated on the Kiewa River and is a fairly level grassy area and the first site on the right after turning off the laneway. It is nestled amongst the trees and is shaded for most of the day. Access to the river via a track at the campsite or the general communal swimming area is around 40 metres away. Potable water top ups are available at the Equestrian Arena if required.

We enjoyed camping here! The view is very nice: hills, horses and the river in front of us was a perfect private refreshing site! Kevin and Heather are lovely too! Thank you!

Beautiful relaxing spot on the river. Lovely for a dip on a hot day. Beautiful shady poplars. Only slight downfall is the 3 sites are a little close together for me personally. Was lovely on second night when we had the place to ourselves. Friendly and helpful host. Thanks so much
