Our walk the neighboring farm (105 acres) Eagles, cockatoos, black cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies, rosellas, king parrots, Gang-gang cockatoo, honey eaters can be spotted most days and lyrebirds if you’re keen to go looking. Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. We only have one campsite available at the very rear beside the forest so you will have complete privacy. There is an area of thick native forest and a stand of the critically endangered bush, the Round-leaf Pomaderris, right near the camping area. There is an abundance of birdlife at the camping location, including kookaburras, fairy wrens, greater shrike thrushes, robins, bellbirds, wedge-tail eagles, magpies and owls (namely boobooks). We are within easy reach of Toolangi State Forest with many walks and trails, including the WirraWilla Rainforest Walk and the Kalatha Giant Mountain Ash tree walk. This area is also popular for 4 wheel driving and there are plenty of tracks in the nearby state forest if you have the correct gear, vehicle and an appreciation for the wilderness. Healesville, Yarra Glen and Kinglake are equal distance away (18-20 minute drives) with services, plenty of cafes, restaurants, wineries and shopping: Healesville: Coles, IGA, Aldi Yarra Glen: IGA Kinglake: Foodworks Relax around the fire in the evenings (out of the fire danger season) and enjoy some great star gazing. Other attractions in the area are Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries. The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, as well as ‘swimmable’ (at your own risk), a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family. We also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet. Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans (under 10 metres) and a couple of tents in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your group. If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space. Situated in West Gippsland, Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses from the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. Other attractions in the area are Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries. The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, as well as ‘swimmable’ (at your own risk), a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family. We also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet. Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans (under 10 metres) and a couple of tents in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your group. Chris's place by the river is beautiful. The sound of the river and the birds was breathtaking. The grounds were extremely neat and tidy and the little hut was very quirky and interesting. We sat in there one afternoon when it got quite windy so it was very handy. Chris was very quick responding to any communication and very friendly.

It was pure joy to wake up on Miller's farm. The rooster heralded dawn - better than any alarm clock. That inspired the chorus of birdsong; kookaburras, cockatoos, wattlebirds, magpies, currawongs. That in turn encouraged the sheep - they started their day bleating for their feathered friends to join them. Farmer Anne let the feathers free and mayhem reigned. Chooks, turkeys and the sole duck running around chatting with excitement at the new day. The goats and alpacas were pretty happy to say hi too. How lucky were we to be part of it. Highly recommend Miller's Camp - check in was easy. Communication great. Anne was lovely. Camp kitchen was a bonus. Great stay. Thankyou.

Lovely spot, easy to find and plenty of room for our 5 caravans, 2 of which were 20ft in length. Peaceful and large grassy area. Tamara came to say hello to our group & talked about the local area & events. She was very welcoming. So nice to see the sheep & goats grazing in the paddocks. We had a choice of two large fire pits. Would definitely camp here again.
