Weekend Trip to Bay Park Adventure Centre

Michelle and team were a wonderful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the camp and at the end of it, didn't want to leave.It is family friendly option with some activities that you enjoy equally or more than your kids. Will for sure book another (longer) stay next time.

1 night at Millers Farm "The Hills are alive"

Kate and Darren are super friendly and easy to talk to. We really appreciated how much effort they put into the farm and looking after all the animals! The location is great, not far from the M1. Once you get off the M1, the drive to the farm is really simple and not stressful at all. Plus, the scenery is really nice. The facilities are awesome! I think the toaster, kettle, and even the toilet were cleaner than the ones at my own house, not joking! And we really like the idea of having the camp kitchen next to our tent, make our setup way easier! There are so many chances to meet the animals and check out the area. Since we booked last minute, we didn’t have time to explore nearby places, but we’ll definitely be back. I’d definitely recommend coming again, maybe with a few other families so you can have the whole campsite together. It’s perfect for kids and makes camping so easy and fun, with many great memories. We have two kids ourselves, and it was just perfect for our family. And of course, Kate and Darren are wonderful hosts!

Weekend Trip to Nerrigundah contrée sauvage

We had a fun and relaxing camping trip. The kids spent hours paddling on the dam! Our dog had the best time experiencing farm life with plenty of room to roam. Being surrounded by bush was relaxing and felt very private. Thanks for the delicious raspberries!

1 night at Dromkeen Macdeon Ranges

A nice Hipcamp. Great location close to town if needed. Nice open space for camping. Toilets the best we’ve had in a Hipcamp. Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to check out the tea rooms. A little road noise and aircraft noise but nothing too bad. Friendly and welcoming on arrival. Would love to see a shower for the price.

Weekend Trip to Gilwell Park Adventure Centre

We booked last minute and camped at the bottom of get hill at C01, close to toilet/showers. Great facilities and heaps of space. We were the only ones there all weekend (during April school holidays) that weren’t with a scout group. It’s 460 acres of bush with loads of hikes and activities for kids including an approx 2km ‘ninja warrior’ style challenge that was a great way to take the legs out of the kids at the end of the day. They only just started advertising this on Hipcamp, expect it will fill up as people find out about it. Theres creeks and streams, a small lake to swim in, friendly staff, bouldering, giant see-saws, tightrope walking, bike tracks, etc etc, I could go on all day. Recommend 👌

Hugh's camp was perfect for us (2 adults 2 kids). Spacious site to camp on, flat ground, short grass. Close to ocean grove beaches and local restaurants/wineries. We'll be coming back!

Our site was nicely positioned almost end of the camping site which gave us more privacy and could avoid strong sunlight during the day time. My son loved to climb up and hang on that tree which was one of fun activities for him. We had a chance to see some hawks flying over the field closely. Hugh is a sweet, gentle and thoughtful man who welcomed us and took us to the camping site from the gate and gave us a short information of facilities at his property. It was also perfect site for my dog to roam and run around. We’re planning to visit here very soon again! Thank you Hugh.

Allira’s Hipcamp was a perfect little space to get amongst the bush & feel completely alone, whilst being so close to “town”. The space is more than enough for anyone with a tent, we used our 6m caravan & had no issue with backing it into the site or having enough room for everything. The wildlife around, bush surrounds and complete silence is perfect for a little getaway. Would definitely recommend this site to others!

Camping at Galea Ranch was the best. So much thought and care put into a beautiful space. Lots of play options for my 5yo plus feeding apples to the animals. The hosts are very kind and welcoming. We'll be back, it was so easy. Thanks Sharelle and Wayne!

Beautiful spot in old growth forest. Lovely tannin stained dam stocked with fish. Convenient to shops and amenities. Jon is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Off Grid - Mountain Spring

Gorgeous spot to park up for the weekend! On the grass - spot 2 is definitely the more picturesque spot near the spring, you’re surrounded by trees, with a huge amount of space (although not a lot of it level, come prepared). The dam/spring in autumn is brown rather than blue but still lovely for a dip. The fire pit and wood left from other campers was much appreciated. Recommend taking a stroll behind the old bottling building to watch sunset and the Roos over the paddock. Town is a 15 min walk from the site if you need anything. We had no issues with neighbour noise, the other site is somewhat out of view. Tamara was a responsive and lovely host, highly recommend a stay here.

Welcome to Nanadhong Views. Nanadhong is the local indigenous name for the Cathedral Range. We are located on the western slope of the Cathedral with beautiful views to its peak as well as across the Acheron valley to the Black Range and South to Dom Dom and the Black Spur. This property was previously a home site but was burned out in the 2009 fires. Now being returned to nature and available for camping only. Two dams and a seasonal creek attract birds and local wildlife. A total of 30 acres is available for exploring and enjoying the views. This private location has a single site with power and water, suitable for two vans or several camper trailers, a flushing toilet and further grassed areas suitable for tents and camper trailers. A camp shelter currently under construction will provide somewhere out of the weather with lighting, water and power available. The property is located 30 minutes from Lake mountain where you can ski during winter or hike and mountain bike during summer. Lake Eildon is also 30 minutes away and a great venue for fishing, swimming and boating. The Acheron, Rubicon and Goulburn rivers are close by and suitable for fishing and kayaking. Mountain bike riders can also try the tracks at Buxton or Eildon. There are many hiking/walking options including the historical Rubicon Valley just 20 minutes away. If you are into 4wd’ing or trail bikes there are many tracks in the Black Range across the road or the Big River area.

We also allow campfires only when fire restrictions aren't in place - which is often all summer. Children under 3 are free, but for insurance purposes, please mention them in the comments. Day visitors are $20 per person, which incudes a donkey patting session. This property has an overall capacity to ensure that our number of visitors remain low. This not only ensures that campers recieve the space and peace they look for in a campsite like this, but also so that we can ensure the bathrooms can be kept clean and not overloaded. This is also a part of our COVID safe plan. Due to this overall capacity it is important that you book for the number of people that you intend to have stay, as while we try to accomodate increases to booking numbers, they are not guaranteed unless booked. Kinglake East End

91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season. It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

Guests are welcome to visit the Tea Room, open 10am – 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Our daily menu contains a selection of delicious cakes, devonshire tea, toasted sandwiches, specialty pies and weekly specials and of course, tea and coffee. Breakfast is served all day. Browse in the galleries or wander around the beautiful gardens which have trees more than 100 years old, some listed on the National Trust register. Meet our 2 Dromkeen alpacas Hannah and Lilly. ***Please note, we are a rubbish free campsite, so campers are asked to take their rubbish with them. We have a 2-acre orchard with seasonal fruit available to be picked. ( Feb - April) The farm has over 100 king protea bushes and many other varieties of protea. Seasonal pick your own flowers too. ( Aug - Jan) Backing onto the national park and walking tracks. Jehoshaphat Gully, Shelley Harris Track, Mt Jerusalem Track. Walking distance to Kinglake historic walk, Cookson Hill Track, Mt Everard Track, Bollygum Park. Visit Mason Falls Waterfall, 12-minute drive to Kinglake West. We have 2 dogs, 6 pet sheep and 4 lambs, 2 blue tongue lizards The farming area is completely fenced in, this is to keep the deer out, but you can venture out onto the property bush land with the correct map and navigation equipment. Our walk the neighboring farm (105 acres) Eagles, cockatoos, black cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies, rosellas, king parrots, Gang-gang cockatoo, honey eaters can be spotted most days and lyrebirds if you’re keen to go looking. Small playground with swings, slide, monkey bars and sandpit. Taxi service - The Graceful-Goat to get you around to the local eats and wineries. The Kinglake market is on the 4th Sunday of each month 10-2pm except December which is the Sunday before Christmas - twilight 2-7pm No market in January. The St. Andrews market is every Saturday, 9am to 1pm just 12 minutes down the mountain. Whittlesea market is on every Monday 9am - 1pm We manage 2 sites on our farm & 2 sites on the neighboring farm

Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for. Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about. Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset. Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance. We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish! Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea! NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise . Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock! **Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere

We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras).
