Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. We are just 5km from Castlemaine town centre, which is an easy cycle or a 5 min drive. Clear Springs is a very special spot, offering sweeping views over rolling hills, and across to the ocean. King Island lighthouse is visible on clear nights, and there are koalas and wallabies in abundance. Whilst we require you to BYO toilet, we do have hot shower, woodfired hot-tub, power, water and phone reception. The site is all-weather access, and is just a 7-minutes drive to the Apollo Bay township. Once you catch your breath after initially taking in the sweeping, majestic ocean views, you can find a spot to pitch your tent or park your van. You drive in through a locked farm gate into the fenced camp area. There is not an abundance of flat area, so may not suit if you need large level space. We don't accept multiple bookings, so the space is all yours. You can choose from a few different spots with near-level ground (choose grass or gravel). The site is open to the amazing ocean views to the south yet the area is nestled among mature trees to give privacy and shelter. There are very few houses dotted around the area and not a single busy road within earshot. There is 240v mains power (BYO lead and plug into switchboard). And a tank with spring water (natural and untreated, we've been drinking it for years) and a pressure pump (BYO hoses as needed). There is an outdoor gas-heated shower. We also have a woodfired hot tub available for guests, BYO firewood. Our listing is intended for people looking for a private, tranquil and well-serviced camping area with several bonuses such as firewood, power, water, telstra reception, and a hot tub. And no other guests to worry about. It's much more than a patch of grass! But please BYO toilet - this is mandatory - and leave no trace to allow other people to enjoy the beauty of our property. Here at Kanukadale, you will share the space with very friendly horses, ponies, miniature goats and our donkey. The property is child friendly as the boundary, river and paddocks are well fenced. Both powered forelf contained campers only that have their own toilet/shower/power cables of 50 mtrs to the extra large site. 10 - 20 mtr cables to the smaller site. Up the driveway is for the glampers private space. There are two cabins and a yurt that share a unique dining/kitchen area paired with shared private toilet, outdoor shower and hot and cold bath under the stars for a very relaxing memorable time in nature. The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (1 - 4 people). Shared facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have direct electricity and supplied are portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins and very private. It has one super comfortable king and two single matresses. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Mains water tap nearby. Pet fee $40 per stay. Please clean up after them. Capacity 1 - 10 people in the cabins/yurt.

My family stayed here over the cup weekend. We had a great time with the kids loving feeding the animals and fishing in the dam. The camp area was very clean with fire pit and a bin plus a water tap. The host Anneke was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. With only a short drive into Daylesford the location was great. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Carla’s place was so picturesque and beautifully set up. The outdoor bath was amazing.. perfect for soaking while taking in the fresh air and views. It’s a great spot to unwind by the open fire or use as a base to explore the region, being just 10 minutes from Warrnambool. It was easy to find using Google Maps, but if you’re using Apple Maps, Carla’s directions will come in handy. Carla and her partner were friendly and great to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Fantastic glamping experience and Tama is an excellent host! The kids loved the activities too including crafting and Trails with Tails. The hot tub is nice and we had fun swimming in the river. Also enjoyed the beautiful farm animals especially the peacocks. The camp kitchen with fridge is handy. The farm animals make noises at night which some people like and other may want to bring ear plugs. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at Redbank156. We were a group of 9 with 5 tents and had an abundance of space on our site to spread ourselves around. There were amazing landcape views from our every direction and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset each night. Crystal provided campfire wood ($30 per bundle) with an option to supply more with just message/phone call. Very peaceful campsite. Highly recommend for any family or group of friends to stay.
