If you don't like dogs, this isn't the campsite for you.
I have 5 of them, 4 little yappers and a one year old Rotwieller named Lillith.
She is very friendly, loves kids, but she's a big meat head who is still learning.
I use a squirter bottle to keep her settled. One look at that and she's off. I'll supply you with yours while you are here.

The Whip Stick Forest campsite is located on the outskirts of Bendigo. This is an ideal place to take a break away from it all. Peace and tranquility surrounded by nature. We are just far enough away from the town to offer the outdoors feel and close enough to town to enjoy sightseeing, and many outdoor activities and access to shops, fuel and most of the usual shopping needs.
Here you will find a nice open space amongst the gum trees with drinking water, toilet, and outdoor shower.

Relax under the stars with a warm fire in a secluded spot in the middle of open space and the fresh air.
The property is fenced off, so you can feel safe and secure. You can relax and let the kids can run around knowing they are safe inside the camp ground.
There are five dogs who live here. They are all friendly and love people.
Lily the Rotwieller is only 12 months old and very playful.
She has a thing for shoes, so please make sure they are always hidden away.
Along with anything else you don't want a naughty puppy to make a meal of.
If you don't like dogs you probably shouldn't stay here as my dogs love people.
Only minutes from town where you will find supplies, close to the local swimming pool and 10 minutes from a popular watering hole.

the historic gold mining attractions and come home to rest in a tranquil setting amongst the trees, the birds and the stars.
Bendigo itself features some fantastic heritage architecture and a creative community. Be sure to check out coffee houses down little laneways and the many culinary options of the restaurants in town.

Spread across six hundred acres of pristine natural splendour, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the embrace of nature, camping beneath starlit skies and relishing the serene spectacle of sunrise and sunset.
Venture into the wilderness to witness the dance of local wildlife in their native habitat, serenaded by the enchanting melodies of birdsong and the majestic call of stag deer roaring to a doe for mating. Our friendly equine companions are eager to share a carrot treat (under the careful supervision of our staff, of course).
Wildcroft Estate is perfect for people who love hiking and anyone just looking for a getaway during the long weekends. You can escape here and catch sight of varied species of wildlife as the sun rises or sets. There are fire/grill pits on the campsites and man/woman toilets and showers.
A rotonda for our guests as a communal area where you can enjoy a firepit while having a drink and a yarn. Dog-friendly dogs are allowed but on leashes.
Horse riding, visitors who enjoy horseback riding are invited to explore the rolling hills and scenic trails of our property on their own horses. yards are available at an extra cost and a nice and early countryman breakfast can be arranged as well. Groups are welcome.

Grandview is located on 8 acres in the township of Buchan. The campsites have beautiful mountain views and the property is close to the Buchan River.
The property is a great place to base yourself, within walking distance to the Buchan Caves Hotel, Roadhouse, General Store and the world acclaimed Buchan Caves. Take a 1/2 day or full day trip into the mountains and see the mighty Snowy River and Little River Gorge. Buchan is also a 45 minute drive to the ocean and the 90 mile beach.
Grandview is one of the original homesteads of Buchan, which we are in the process of lovingly restoring.
We have the belief that this place is to be shared. We love where we live and this is our way of sharing the beauty of the Buchan and surrounding valleys.

This is an ideal spot for a quiet getaway or as a home base if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Dunolly or Dunolly itself.
Early mornings and late evenings you may be lucky to receive visits from Kangaroos. Camp freely around the designated campfire and enjoy an amazing star-gazing experience (on clear nights).
The water hole is good for yabbies and great for skipping stones. We swim in it occasionally but prefer to go to the lake. We cannot endorse any swimming or entering the water hole as it is a liability issue and we cannot be responsible for anyone who chooses to swim or enter the area of the waterhole.
Dunolly town has a great bakery, a pub, and a supermarket.
Lake Laanacoorie 15 mins drive. Great for fishing, boats, and swimming.
***Pit-toilet (portable) available:
- There is a pit toilet available for camper use but it's recommended to have a portaloo and use the onsite dunny as an emergency only.
***Keep Clean.
-We ask that you take any rubbish with you when you leave. We would appreciate it if you could leave the property as you found it on arrival.
***Warning.
-Regular pest control in the area might be a threat to your pet so please ensure that your pet does not stray too far off the property without your supervision. Pest control is usually concentrated in the state forest behind the property.
***Fire Wood:
- You can BYO firewood or collect from the roadside. The state forest at the rear may be helpful but please don't cut down any trees. There is often a fallen tree that you can chop up if you have a chainsaw but it'll be easier to find on the roadside or BYO. If I'm able to provide firewood it'll be stacked but this is not something to depend on as it just depends on availability and time that I may not have.

-The campsite is close to the water hole which means it's also at the front of the property and approx 120m from the main road. You will see a vehicle passing by maybe once per hour in the daytime.

Hidden Valley House is nestled in Anakie, VIC, set within the scenic Brisbane National Ranges and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne CBD.
Taking into consideration our ethos around sustainability, the cabin is “off-grid” so solar powered with a composting toilet but with all the amenities you need. The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years.
As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature.
Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras. Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife.
The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery.

A clean and spacious paddock in a quite spot. We spend 3 days here and would come back again. Although the weather was cold we felt comfortable knowing there was clean toliets, a warm outdoor private onsight shower, rubbish bins and fire pits! 4 other campers where quitely spaced out during our stay over a weekend most people kept to themselves.

Buchan great spot. I went with a caravan and 4 young boys. Our main reason to stay was to visit the caves. It's minutes away from them. The site is wonderful. Lots of grass, well looked after. Beaufiful views. We setup next to the water and power. No drama there.
There is no toilet, but there is a very clean public toilet at the end of the driveway. I've stayed at caravan parks that have a similar walking distance to the amenities block. So, officially no toilet, but it kinda does have one.
There was a super friendly small dog that came to check us out. My kids named it Lemonade, but then changed it to Cola as has dark fur.
Paul and Kirstie were great with their communication. I knew exactly how to get there and what to do once there. They also gave me some helpful tips about the caves.

Great set up, walking distance to town with a gorgeous pub. We were lucky to have it all to ourselves. Fire pits are available and were enjoyed in the brisk evenings. The availability of both power and water was also wonderful.
A handy camp for exploring the caves and the surrounding area and hikes.

Hi Christie and Paul, Huge thanks for having me around, you were absolute lifesavers. Your property is beautiful, with lush green grass, a great concrete pad for caravans, fresh air, fire pits and lovely country sounds of cows and kangaroos waking up to. I am especially grateful to Paul, who is a mechanic and kindly fixed the issues with my caravan wheels. Your Cavalier cross is the most relaxed and placid dog. The way she greets guests is lovely, and she deserves all the pats and love.I highly recommend visiting the town of Buchan, just two minutes away. Beautiful campground with a picturesque view of the rolling hills. Grace is a fantastic host who looks after her guests. The campsite has excellent cooking facilities with a large pergola big enough to fit several groups. Hot showers and toilets are basic but very welcome after a long day exploring the hills and nearby quaint country towns. We visited with our little dog who loved exploring. There are friendly farm dogs who occasionally wander across to say hello. Highly recommend this campsite.

Chrissy is a wonderful host. Showed us where the facilities are located for easy access. Got to meet the sweet dogs and cats too! Overall my husband and I had a wonderful stay at Whip stick forest. It's generously sized and gave us plenty of room to set up comfortably. The surrounding trees somehow created a nice barrier adding privacy and a relaxing atmosphere. It was a nice 3 days just to get away from the bustle of melbourne. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice little getaway😊❤️

Grace was a fantastic host who made us feel very welcome on her beautiful property.
We were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves, aside from one couple staying in one of the four cabins on Friday night, set off to the side of the camping area.
There are no designated site numbers, so you’re free to choose any spot within the camping area, which adds to the relaxed feel of the stay.
Highly recommend taking the walk up to the ridge — the views are absolutely spectacular.
