Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Enjoy the privacy of 50 acres of natural surroundings backing onto Rushworth state forest. You are free to explore the entire property, find a quiet spot under the old gum trees or discover the adjoining state forest with its abundance of wildlife and the valley of the giant grass trees. Catch a few yabbies in the large dam but please remember to return as many as possible for the next adventurers. Unless you’re a dog, swimming is not permitted in the dam! Discover rustic old town of Nagambie only 15 minutes by car, and the famous Mitchelton winery or the older style Tahbilk are both close to the property. The Nagambie brewery is a newcomer in town. Enjoy the serenity! Bring your horses and your dog, bring your guitar, a good book, even bring a golf set and a bucket of balls. You will have 80 acres of stunning country all to yourselves. Only one booking taken at a time. No one else will be anywhere near! Self-contained campers only, please bring in what you need, and take all waste with you. Base price covers up to 8 people, with capacity capped at 12 people.  The land is characterised by rolling hills, covered by mostly open grassland, with patches of gum trees for shade, and a dam and creek. There's also a native eucalypt forest right across the road with miles of fire trails for walking and horse riding. In the cooler months, the land turns from shades of gold to greens.  There are no facilities, its just you and the land (bliss!) so ensure you have everything you need with you, and take all your waste when you leave.  If you fancy fresh fish for dinner, just down the road is Tuki Trout Farm, or nearby Cairn Curran Reservoir and Tullaroop Reservoir are great for fishing. The tourist villages of Newstead, Clunes and Maldon are all a short drive away, and Daylesford is just 35km drive.  Campfires are permitted when fire bans are not in place. NOTE: We do offer the neighbouring 50-acre paddock for hunting/shooting - with conditions. Please note, this activity is offered separately to our Hipcamp operation and needs to be organised with us directly. Also, we do not allow hunting/shooting next door, if there is a group camping already.

Our property is a 5 minute drive out of the township of Castlemaine. It is a total of 60 acres with minimal fencing. About 20 acres are cleared paddock and the rest is native box forest. Enjoy picturesque views across the open paddock to the dam, watch the kangaroos, or sit back and relax in the forest. On-site enjoy camping and strolling around the property, or nearby explore the historic towns of Maldon, Newstead or Castlemaine. Camp fires allowed in designated fire places. Dogs are allowed on lead. Must be self contained.

My 2 daughters, our dog and I had a great stay at Redbank Farm. The facilities are great and provide most of the home comforts which is very important to a 14 yr old. Beds are really comfy, fire pit was a treat at night. Crystal was really responsive and great to deal with. Highly recommend .

Island Bend. Another day in paradise. Private, secure and very peaceful.

Another excellent trip exploring more of the property. This is my third trip to the farm and it only gets better! I spent two days exploring the property and taking some scenic photographs of some of my artworks (paintings). Such a beautiful spot with an abundance of wildlife and epic nature. I couldn't recommend this site enough, my personal favorite site is Creek Flat, check it out you wont be disappointing.

Everything was perfect. Mark's communication was responsive and when we got to site yhe area was flat, large and easy to set up our caravan. The site was spotless. That is the boring detail stuff out of the way, now to the superlatives. From our site we could see a billabong like part of the creek and it eas lovely to watch the farm animals, birds and insects drop in for a drink. Sitting on the bank fishing was relaxing and rewarding (with some decent bites). The sun rose over the creek, paddock and quarry and was just gorgeous. Because it was mid week Mark said I could check out the other sites (which I did-planning a return visit). The dogs loved the open spaces snd paddling in the creek. I couldn't have asked more a peaceful place for a pre Christmas break from the crazy. Thank you Mark for sharing your beautiful property.

Amazing campsites next to the little river. The sites are far apart, and especially Island Bend is a very private spot. We enjoyed the cool water in the river on the hot days. So many birds, and large trees, really love this place.

As we drove onto the property, I instantly felt like I could breathe — it was absolutely beautiful. We stayed at the Creek Flat site, which was perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The host was very friendly and happily answered all our questions, which made the stay even easier. The property is large, with plenty of wildlife and farm animals wandering around, adding to the charm. We only stayed for two nights but truly wished we could have stayed longer.

A spectacular place to stay. From lying in bed in the large tent watching the sheep and birds, cooking over the open fire, and enjoying the breeze while in the outdoor bath, we enjoyed every moment of it. Greeted warmly by the host on arrival. Adequate amenities provided for cooking and cleaning, and plenty of blankets to stay warm. Easy to buy firewood from the hosts - we let them know beforehand, and the firewood already at our campsite ready to use. We also really enjoyed the short hike up the hills to be greeted with amazing views. Would highly recommend, and hope we can come here again soon.

4 nights at Whip Stick Forest

Lovely safe flat mowed grass area with a central communal shed for shade and some trees. A great place for children. The power was great with extra long leads to borrow so you can take advantage of most areas on the property. Taps for drinking water. Nicely tucked away from the roads and private from the house but very convenient with the shops less than 3 KMs away. So nice to be next to the State park too with a private gate so you can explore the old gold mining area very easily. The shower and toilet were clean and a definite bonus. The many friendly dogs, cats and birds would delight children. A lovely spot. Recommended.
