Green Bush Have is 5 acres of natural bush in the Goldfields are of Victoria. It has a natural dam and the whole property is bushland. I tis only 3 minutes drive to Newstead, and 12 minutes drive to Castlemaine, both wonderful old towns, with Castlemaine being famous for it infrastructure.
There is a house and caravan on the property, very comfortable and is totally off grid. The only sounds you'd hear are the birds and frogs, with the occasional owl call.

I loved my time staying in the forest cabin! Kelly was great with communication leading up to and during my stay. He had even started the fire early so the place was toasty and warm on my arrival - such a nice touch! Walking the tracks nearby and at Lederderg were stunning, especially with the wintry rain falling all around. The local town of Trentham was also nice to explore. I highly recommend the scotch fillet steak at Pig and Whistle! My personal highlight was watching a wallaby outside my window as we both ate our breakfast. So peaceful and relaxing - just what the doctor ordered. See you next time!

1 night at Glenhope Getaway
Catherine was lovely and obviously enjoys being a most thoughtful, supportive and proactive host.
Glenhope getaway offers more than you see in the profile. The shack has a big room with a queen bed and a single bed with drawable curtains around each of them, a couch, big TV and electric heater, as well as the pot belly stove.
The views are better than the photos.
It’s very quiet and private.
The shower is just cold water but that makes it more fun because you can have a quick shower, dry off a bit and warm up in front of the pot belly stove. I didn’t use the stove but it would make the room very warm very quickly.
There’s now a table and planters on the deck.
The property hasn’t been designed as a getaway. The accommodation is in a typical working farm as is.
Much of the land is rocky which you can see in the photos. The long road from the gate to the house has no rocks and has flat and gently sloping sections and is fun to run along if you feel like an easy run.
It’s an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay.

Great set up with the camp kitchen, Echidna cabin, drop toilet and water tanks, plus lots of other extras.

Staying at the echidna retreat was extremely peaceful and relaxing, the facilities and amenities provided were clean, tidy and plentiful. Clear instructions were provided on the listing, by the host and on instructional paper in the accommodation.
The views, weather and animals surrounding were beautiful as well as the local towns which were rich in culture and provided plenty of site seeing opportunities. The stars were unbelievable and bright as well. We saw an echidna within 5 minutes of our arrival and kangaroos greeted us every morning before the sun fully rose.
Would highly recommend to any people looking to have a peaceful stay away from all the noise and pollution of city living.

Beautiful and clean. The mini golf was a big hit (no pun intended), and the little quaint indoor stove kept the cabin warm on a cold night. Ian was friendly, communicative, and checked in regularly to ensure we were ok. The block is easy to find, and there is plenty of tank water available. The bush kitchen was cute, and the table near the fire pit was lovely to sit at. The cabin has enough beds and chairs for family.

A great little private cottage located on the rear of the property with easy access to the forest walking trails. We enjoyed 3 nights of peace, serenity and the laughter of kookaburras. Our 4yo loved exploring and discovering native animals and bee hives nearby while our older teens loved the nightly outdoor and indoor fires and accompanying roasts and marshmallow s'mores. Kitchen was well equipped to handle family meal time and the indoor wood heater kept the cottage toasty all night. Recommended for anyone requiring the connection that stems from the disconnect of technology.

We had a lovely two days at this hut. We walked directly from the hut to Lyonville and Trentham with lunch at Trentham, an excellent day out.
The hut was clean, dry with plenty of wood, we were very warm.

We loved our time at The Forrest Cottage. It was bigger than it looked in the pictures, and had everything we needed. Our kids loved sitting by the fireplace, and watching the wallabys and kangaroos jump across the property. It felt very private - the hosts Kelly and Erin were lovely and welcoming! I would highly recommend staying here!

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Echidna Retreat Cabin is the perfect choice. Tucked away in the woods, it’s an ideal spot for a small group of 2–3 people to relax and unwind. The cozy retreat is made even better with a mini golf course on-site and breathtaking views of the Milky Way at night, truly the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience! It’s a great budget-friendly escape, and we’re incredibly grateful to Ian for sharing his beautiful property with us.
