A last minute trip away to test new camper. As other posters have written, Adrian was very helpful & friendly. The little community of campers made for a great night.
Lots of options for walks & other activities not too far away.
Overall a great experience. & a great introduction to hipcamp

Escape to the countryside and wake up to the sounds of native birds and wildlife! Adrian is a warm host and made our stay most welcoming. I enjoyed visiting nearby Bendigo and the historic Central Deborah Mine tour. The site is well located and the road is quiet at night.

Absolutely loved camping at Lokuttara! Adrian greeted us warmly on arrival. Adrian went above and beyond to make us feel looked after, gave us a rundown on where everything is-even the local wineries and cider distillery and making sure we had enough firewood.
Loved sitting by the campfire looking at the view of the stars at night!
Beautiful scenery with so many tranquil sounds of wildlife to wake up to!
Also had our German shepherd with us who had more than enough room to run around!
The huge trees also provided a great amount of shade for us, especially as we were fortunate enough to receive some amazing early taste of summer weather!
Would definitely recommend this spot!

Adrian’s land is such a beautiful and open place – the wide views made us feel so refreshed. I went with my parents and booked an overnight stay, but since they weren’t feeling up to sleeping over, we decided to head back in the evening. Adrian was incredibly kind and even offered to let us use the site for free and refund the booking. I felt bad, so I just asked if he could prepare a little firewood, and he generously provided much more than expected. The land itself was peaceful and clean, and in the early evening we saw lots of kangaroos, which made the experience even more fun. Thanks to Adrian’s kindness and this wonderful setting, we made such special memories. I’d love to come back and actually stay overnight next time!

We had a great stay, Adrian was a really lovely host. The property has a beautiful historic building on site. While the camping is in the front yard of his acreage and residence, the road was quiet with only local traffic driving past (most gave a big wave) and Adrian and family left us to our own devices but we’re available if we needed anything. The doggos loved it and we had a great time!

It was an enjoyable stay, and we had the place to ourselves. Nicely fenced off for dogs and we were left to our own devices even with the host's property not far away. Adrian was a great host and very helpful.
The hut facility was a great addition for anytime weather might change.

Beautiful camp site, stunning sunsets and lots of birds. Haven't seen that many stars in a long time. Drop toilet convenient. Very peaceful.
Adrian is a fabulous host, super friendly and happy to explain history of property, we enjoyed the little tour through the old buildings. Definitely recommend!

We had a great stay and were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves on a long weekend.. Adrian was very accommodating and the area is beautiful. Only 20 mins from Lake Eppalock.

The hosts were kind and helpful, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. The camp spots at the front of the property are large, even peaceful and enjoy little traffic from the nearby dirt road, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere.
A drop toilet is available which is big plus. However, it’s a good idea to come prepared with your own toilet paper. While the property has a rustic charm, a little extra care in upkeep could make it even better.

Directions were so easy and toke us straight to the little red brick kitchen. Love the indoor fire stove that heated the cold night. Big flat grass areas to setup camps and wood with fire pits available. Even small kitchen area under a roof if the rain invites itself for lunch.

You will be camping on Adrian’s 3 acre family plot in absolute peace and tranquility. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the opportunity to sit indoors with a wood fire on some very chilly evenings. While a little remote it is only half an hour from Bendigo and its wineries, the lovely village of Axedale and Heathcote, another famous wine region. For cyclists, Axedale makes a great starting point to either Bendigo or Heathcote along the scenic rail trail. Start with a coffee at the excellent coffee shop and finish with a beer or a meal at the historic pub. It’s a really nice spot to camp.

Welcoming hosts and easy to access site. It was great to have access to a fire drum. Our stay was peaceful. It’s not the largest property so you are fully secluded but we faced our site towards the sunset- stunning.

Adrian’s property is smaller than we expected. However, there was plenty of room for our tents. Adrian is a very personable host and made sure we had everything we needed. 2 of us slept in the little building and they were comfortable and cosy in there. A handy bench near the fire pit made food preparation easy. A nice quiet spot with plenty of birds.

Kids really enjoyed being in nature. Lots of bugs as we were next to the creek but that is to be expected.
Great shady spaces to play ball or throw the Frisbee.

We camped at Adrian’s place to attend an event in Bendigo. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around, the drop toilet was convenient, and we loved listening to the dawn chorus in the morning. Overall, it was great!

We loved camping at the property!
The hosts gave us a warm welcome and was very hands on (also responds to queries very fast). Appreciate that!! There’s a lot of shady areas to set up tents and we were able to have a campfire which is a huge plus as it’s starting to get chilly at night. We had a peaceful and relaxing quick getaway. Thanks so much!

A short drive from Melbourne and greeted with wide open space, and very shady areas. Our party of 4 adults and 2 toddlers took the tent site which was right at the front of the property.
The open space allowed the kids to run about and freely, and plenty of options of where to pitch the tents.
Adrian was very friendly and offered to help with anything to make our stay fun and worry-free. The mulberry tree was full of fruits and free for all to pick.
There is a huge grazing paddock where sheeps were roaming. Very peaceful and the site is good for family games.

Very nice place to camp next to Myrtle Creek. Adrian and Kim are lovely hosts and very helpful. Nice camp spots at the front of the property - although close to the (dirt) road, there is very little traffic so very peaceful. Bendigo, Castlemaine and Lake Eppalock all within 30min. Drop toilet available if needed. Be prepared to drive about 10km on well graded dirt roads to property if coming from Melbourne. We really enjoyed our weekend away.
