Weekend Trip to Ryelands Farm & Vineyard

What an awesome spot. Derek is a wonderful host, friendly and very informative. Setup has tables, great fire pit and wood supplied. There is access to water straight out of the Derwent River, nothing fresher. Great place to go and explore the Mt Field National Park, Gordon Dam or Salmon Ponds and a must is Plenty Cider right next door (to Salmon Ponds). Close enough for a run into New Norfolk for their Saturday morning street market. Gretna Green Hotel is just up the highway.

Weekend Trip to Three Creeks Farm Private Campsites

5/5 stars. The woodlander is a great spot and being right in the middle of North and south bruny, the location was extremely convenient to all the attractions. The site itself was secluded and peaceful and the wood heater was very welcome on the winter nights when we stayed. The hobbit hut made cooking a breeze and was a handy add-on.

Weekend Trip to Valley's Nest

Valley's Nest is an absolute dream! Walking from the carpark to see the Nest with the valley and mountains unfurl beyond is jaw dropping. Surrounded by nature, there is everything you need for a peaceful rejuvenating stay. I loved the fire bath, laying on the deck in the sun, sitting around the fire, the cosy bed, and the swing! This place will get into your heart. I look forward to many more visits!

Can’t not recommend this place enough !! We had the best stay, the host Derek was so welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. We arrived to a pristine campsite with a fire ready to go. Derek gave us so much info about the area which we loved as first time visitors !!

Grant was a fantastic host, from the moment we arrived until we left he was accommodating and nothing was too much. The site was exactly as described and was what we needed for our 5 nights away for a quick get away with the kids. We would absolutely recommend this site and would look to return again for another stay. Thanks again to Grant and the family for making us welcome and providing a great spot for us to stay. Weekend Trip to Three Creeks Farm Private Campsites

The camp ground was clean and very well laid out. It rained heaps whilst we were there but the site handled the weather without any issues. The fire was great and the hobbit hut was a nice dry spot with the wet weather. This is a very good winter camp ground. We can't wait to try it in the summer.

Weekend Trip to Valley's Nest

What a cracker of a spot to stay! Two blissful nights “camping” in the bush, but with a super comfy bed to snuggle up in at night and wake up to the best view out over the valley through the multi-panned timber window. Toasting big hunks of fresh bread over the fire pit, cooking up nighttime feasts over the little gas stove, hearing the patter of rain on the tin roof of the cabin while we sat inside and played music through our Bluetooth speaker (cozy from the little pot belly wood heater), cranking up the glowing coals under the outdoor bath on a freezing winter night and sliding down into the hot water to stare up at the stars and the moon glowing through the tree branches overhead…. *sighs… Absolute bliss, and we didn’t want the weekend to end! Thanks for providing this really unique spot! 🩷

We very much enjoyed our camping trip to Pauline's!! It's so nice having the spot to yourself especially when you have a doggo who doesn't love other dogs. No stress just time to relax. I also got to see the resident platypus in the afternoon as well as early morning. Such a joy, we will definitely be back.

Ian has set up his sanctuary so well for those passing by and for anyone who wants to stay. He shows such empathy and compassion for all of his animals and birds (both domesticated and wild). The views around the farm are amazing and being able to interact with the animals and birds alike was fantastic. Having the open setup that he has is wonderful. I 1000% recommend coming here and having an absolute blast. Wish I could have started longer!! Thanks so much Ian and Wally for making me feel so welcome 😊

We loved the setting of a peaceful valley close to Cygnet. Grant is a very kind and helpful host. The basket of goodies we purchased from Grant was great, loved the bread, home made jam and fruits. The site was nice and level with lovely grass. Having power was a welcome addition.

A great spot on the Ringarooma river, nice and secluded and great views of the surrounding green hills. The spot was easily accessible and we had plenty of firewood to keep us warm. We definitely will be back! Thanks for having us and the delicious sourdough!

Stringybark Bush Camp

Stringybark is a quiet 80 hectare rural property in the North East of Tasmania, featuring bush, native grassland and 4 beautiful lakes. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas: -bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year -around the shed where we store farm materials -around our lakes which are not fenced in We're so excited to be sharing our piece of paradise with campers from near and far and from all walks of life :)

Deep Glen is a beautiful, quiet 5 acre property at Eaglehawk Neck, gateway to the stunning Tasman Peninsula. Hiking, surfing, fishing, swimming, diving are all at your doorstep, not to mention the famous Three Capes Track and the Port Arthur Historic site just a short drive away. If you want to see the coast shown in these photos, both the Tasman Island Cruise and Wild Ocean Tasmania offer excellent trips Bookings are for two adults; children under 16 are free. It may be possible for larger groups to occupy one site - please enquire before booking. As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs. There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van. Gossy’s Retreat

Idle Valley

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook, via Yarlington road. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast. Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles. At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't. The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

The property slopes up from the road to a large ridgeline, on the right days, you will see Peregrine falcons or wedge-tailed eagles using the uplift to effortlessly soar over our property. Fairview Farm Ringarooma Tasmania

Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

Ryelands Farm & Vineyard

**Please note that it's $20 per person per night. Small farm and vineyard at Macquarie Plains in the Upper Derwent Valley, southern Tasmania. The property is 380m from the junction of the Lyell Highway and the Gordon River Road. It has 450m absolute river frontage on the River Derwent (no riparian reserve). The river here is freshwater, potable and a renowned trout water, (licence required). Three kilometres from the village of Gretna. 4WD Preferred. 2WD need to assess river access. Campers need all own amenities and leave no trace. Dog friendly but please see rules, we have livestock and so dogs need to be well controlled at all times. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place (see rules around campfires). Due to hydro generation activity, the river may slowly rise or fall up to 1m (often without rain) so please be careful around the water.

Welcome to The Bush Circus. This is where I love to play and I welcome you here. All the deets you may need are listed here so read careful. Of course you can contact me if you can't work something out. You arrive here at the bottom corner of the property on Slab Rd where there is a place to park cars around several large gum trees. There is a very short walk through bush on manicured trails to one of three dedicated camp sites all of which is sign posted. There is also one RV spot at the car park. Toilet is located within a short walk from each campsite. All sights are reasonably flat and they all have a campfire. Please feel free to pick up twigs and breakable sticks to create a fire. If you want firewood it is $1 per piece and you can put this into the tin at where the firewood is collected. RV Spot- This is marked out as a section on the car park area. There may be some other cars near you but these are for the campers. Holy Tree Camp- The first sign takes you to this camp. You will see the tree with the burnt out base. Suitable for a small to medium tent. Tall Tree Camp- Second sign leads to here. It is adjacent to the tallest tree on the property. Small to medium tent. Octopus Tree Camp- Look up. You will see how it gets its name. Small to medium tent. This is a small property and if you get lost just follow the tracks you will find the camp you have booked. There are two toilets. Toilet one is for number 2's and toilet 2 is for number 1's. Just to make it confusing. All signposted but message me if you can't work it out. The circus area is not available for campers. Please contact me if this area interests you.

Bicheno Pine Ridge

Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions. There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flatish firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning. The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition. FIRES. Ok unless a fire ban. GOOD BAGS OF WOOD ON SITE FOR $20. NO OUTSIDE WOOD CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PROPERTY AND BURNT. I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE A MIDDLE GROUND ON THIS ISSUE BUT UNFORTUNATELY SOME HAVE ABUSED THE FAIR RULES SO THIS IS NOW THE SITUATION. NO FORAGING GROUND WOOD WITHOUT ASKING ME AND GETTING APPROVAL. Welcome to Paradise Lagoon! Here you can stay 30 metres back from the foreshore of Pelican Bay. Unfortunately you cannot see the beautiful bay view from the campsite. You can simply walk 30 metres and take your chairs and esky and spend the day marveling at the views and bird life, or even grab the kayak and paddleboard for some healthy fun . Pelican Bay is a saltwater tidal lagoon, it's very shallow water for a long way, then gets deep a fair way out. The water is too shallow for Boats , but there is a boat ramp nearby. Wineglass Bay is just up the road in Freycinet National Park.We only welcome guests over the age of 50 who have a fully self-contained vehicle. There are no amenities as yet so you must BYO everything you need and leave no footprint. Thank you.

The Woodlander and Back Paddock Campsites are Private Campsites located @ thelittlegardenfarm. Private campsites (approx 400m away from each other) all to yourselves within a short drive to many Bruny Island attractions. The Little Garden Farm is our new 100-acre forest and pasture farm that we will begin improving over the next 18 months. The property is located at the base of Bruny's Isthmus, enjoying cool sea breezes in summer and mild temperatures in winter. The Woodlander Campsite is set in our bottom forest paddock, next to a dam, with a seasonal winter creek. It is private and peaceful, with no other campers, houses, or nearby neighbours. We welcome travellers, with up to two vehicles, who are here to enjoy the peace and quiet (no parties please). The campsite has its own separate access, site toilet, solid picnic table and chairs, firepit and and is approximately 600 meters from where we live. Next to 70 acres of forest the location is great for birdlife, with many of Tassie's endemics around, and other wildlife abundant after dark. We are always happy to help with birding or wildlife tips! Based approx 5 minutes from Alonnah and 10 minutes from Adventure Bay, the "Woodlander" is central to so much of what Bruny Island has to offer.

Huckaway is a little camping oasis just off the Tasman Highway. Green pastures are bordered by forestry land to the East and a river to the South. Go for a bush walk through the forest, a swim or fish in the river, you might even find a trout! This property is the perfect location if you are here to enjoy either the Derby trails or the St Helens trails with some of the shuttles going straight past the front gate! St Helens is a 15-minute drive away and The Bay of Fires is 30 mins. The wide camping area has plenty of open flat space to park any type of caravan or van. Park down near the river, or tuck yourself in beside the forest, up to you. All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we kindly request you take all your waste with you. There is a dump station in St Helens. Well-behaved pets are welcome also! Please be mindful that dogs do not chase the neighbours cows and please pick up after them.

Bohemian Beach Retreat Tiny House

Our cosy private tiny house/shack. It is close to beaches and a lagoon. The Bay of Fires is 40min north and Wineglass Bay/Freycinet National Park 1hr south. Relax night and day in a fire pit lounge area crafted with dry stone (large soft cushions included) plus an outdoor fire bath. A small separate shed houses a flushing toilet and gas hot water shower. The block has mains power; solar power and tank water. The block is surrounded by local endemic shrubs, trees and ground covers. We provide firewood, linen for the comfortable double bed, condiments for the fully equipped kitchen that includes crockery, cutlery, a fridge, a gas cooker, air fryer, sandwich toaster, camp oven, water etc. Just bring your clothes and food. The block is in a quiet coastal hamlet (with gravel roads and no street lights) ideal for beach and lagoon activities (surfing, walking, paddling, bird watching). Our 2 person sit on kayak is at the tidal lagoon 5 min walk away. We have crafted this space over a number of years for personal use and now would like others to experience it. Stargazing from the fire bath is a must do feature especially in winter. Dog/pet friendly.
